The Tarn flows quietly between its clay banks. Brick colours the architecture of Rabastens. In the hills, the ploughing perpetuates the range of colours. Presence of bricks : In the Tarn plain, clay is everywhere. It is difficult to get out of it on wet days! But the clay smiles when it becomes a brick, when it becomes unique. Not by the quantity, it abounds! But by the fruit of the metamorphosis which allows it to be dressed in subtle colours for the best of regional architecture. Pink Toulouse but red Rabastens, Gaillac and Albi. Finally, red... Red spangled with a thousand white particles, faded red, dark red, loyal red... As an accomplice of the architectural imagination, brick knows how to be simple for the suburbs, refined for the private mansions of Castres and Albi. Nowadays, it has other attractions: healthiness and thermal capacity in particular.

Turn right into rue Joliot Curie, then right into rue du 8 mai 1945. In the main street, turn left, pass the town hall and turn right to reach the car park. This path takes part of the educational path of Corbarieu. You will get to know the local fauna and flora there. The route will take you to the valley of Guitardio, a haven of freshness during hot summer days. THE TRAIL STEP BY STEP Departure and parking: stadium car park 1. Turn left out of the car park and go up Rue du Stade to Rue Jean Jaurès. Cross opposite and take Rue de l'Eglise. 2. Turn right in front of the church and take the chemin de Galineste on the left (in the wrong direction). Continue through the Cité Bellevue, always straight ahead. After 280m continue straight, by a non-motorable road to follow for 300. Take the Côte de Dardé uphill. Turn right into Chemin de la Serre for 490m. 3. Leave the road by taking the chemin de Roquenol on the left. Descend into the undergrowth in the valley of the Guitardio stream that a footbridge overlooks. Go up the stairs and turn left on the Chemin de Morève, which must be followed to the Route du Fau. 4. Go down this on the left, then take the first on the left: Chemin de Cheminat. Continue straight on rue Joliot Curie, then right on rue du 8 mai 1945. In the main street, turn left, pass in front of the town hall and turn right to return to the car park. This path crosses the slopes of Corbarieu and Montauban. Some beautiful views are available to you from the heights. A connection is possible with the trails of the South of Montauban PR5 THE TRAIL STEP BY STEP Departure and parking: stadium car park 1. Turn left out of the car park and go up Rue du Stade to Rue Jean Jaurès. Turn left and continue for 175m. 2. Turn right into rue Pasteur, then take the first street on the left. Cross the road after 150m and continue uphill straight on the chemin du loup. Continue straight on the Chemin de Foumezous. Turn right at a right angle and continue 170m. Turn left and go down the path. Cross the stream at the bottom of the valley. 3. Turn left and follow the road to the RD21, turn left and follow it for 140m. 4. Turn right and take the grassy path. Turn left at the road and follow it for 500m. Leave the road at the next bend, continuing straight on the path for 420m. 5. Turn left onto the road and follow it for 350m. At the next road, turn right towards the village, staying on the right sidewalk. Turn right after the town hall towards the car park. Turn left and follow the Chemin de Basset for 490m. Cross the Fau road, continue straight on the path for 200m. 4. Take the Route du Fau and continue along this path for 940m. At the fork, take the chemin des candeliers to the right, then the route de Saint-Nauphary for 460m. 5. Turn right on Chemin de Soulignac. In front of the farm, turn left and go down the path for 680m. 6. In the undergrowth, turn left, go down the stairs and cross the footbridge. The path goes up through the woods. At the road, turn left and follow this road for 730m. Turn right and go down the Côte de Dejean. 7. Turn left then right after 390m. At the next intersection, turn right and follow this road for 1.2km. Cross the road at the "Give way" sign. Continue straight and follow the path for 500m. 8. Turn right and follow the Tarn by the road. 9. 130m after the first bend, turn left and continue straight until rue du Stade, where the car park is. Consecrated in 1096, the basilica is a masterpiece of Romanesque art. The tympanum of the Miegeville door, sculpted capitals, the altar table or bas reliefs (above the crypt) marked and influenced art in Europe. At the XII century, the powerfull Lezat abbey had there a house, built outside the city, for lepers and plague victims. The hospital runned until XVII century. The ruins of Saint-Marcet chapel are also named the "wall of the lepers".
