Starting point: the Comtesse’s dovecote car park, on Avenue de Suisse.
Route changes for horse riders and mountain bikers:
At point 2/, continue straight on below the garden to take the wide grassy track running parallel to the Chemin de Découvertes, then rejoin the route at point 3/.
At point 4/, take the grassy path opposite, running along the edge of the field to the left of the stream, for 400 metres; at the entrance to the woodland, continue along the left-hand path which climbs into the woodland to reach point 5/.
Practical advice for horse riders:
Avenue de l’Aéropostale is a busy road.
There is a narrow passage between posts at the end of the Chemin de Madame.
A section suitable for galloping at point 4/, a grassy track for 400 metres.
Take care at junctions.

- Walk past the Countess’s dovecote and cross the D35 road to take the Chemin des Villas opposite (dangerous crossing). Continue straight on along the grassy path and carry on through the housing estate for 700 metres (alternating between footpaths and tarmac sections). Turn right onto Allée du Salas-Montjoie and continue left onto Avenue de l’Aéropostale, running alongside the Montjoie estate.
- At the Ramonville exit sign, turn left onto the Chemin de Peyre d’Escale. Follow the red and white markings of the GR653, the Way of St James, walking along the hedge on the grassy verge. Continue along the grassy track, passing below the telecoms tower, until you reach a fork in the path.
- Section of the route reserved for walkers: mountain bikers and horse riders should refer to the route amendments.
Take the path on the left which climbs up to the Jardin des Senteurs et des Couleurs, then turn left onto the wooded path, the Chemin des Découvertes, for 800 metres.

Take the path opposite, to the right of the stream, at the edge of the woods. Follow it for 400 metres, then turn left to cross the stream. Continue along the left-hand path, which climbs into the woods and leads out onto a stony track.
- Carry on straight ahead. At the junction, take the tarmac road straight ahead. At the ‘Stop’ sign, carry on straight ahead, passing in front of Marly Castle (the first road on the right; you can visit the Château des Frères Tailleurs, then retrace your steps). At the bend, turn left onto the Chemin de Saint-Jean and, at the next crossroads, carry on straight ahead along the Chemin de Madame, passing the fortified house of Saint-Paulet before returning to the starting point.
