Local products take pride of place in this brand new shop in Port-Lauragais, on the banks of the Canal du Midi. The Comptoir du Lauragais offers a wide range of local products, from local delicacies to the creations of artists and craftsmen, and invites you to discover the gastronomic riches and artisanal productions of the region. Discover all the flavours of our gourmet terroir: Toulouse violets, cassoulets, duck breast or duck confit, terrines, foies gras, Cadours AOC garlic, Fronton AOP wines, local honeys, jams and chocolates... made by local producers with respect for tradition and raw materials. Let yourself be tempted by the creations of our many artists and craftspeople: pottery, jewellery, pastel-dyed textiles... and by the expertise of our cosmetics perfumers: soaps, creams, eau de Cologne, eau de parfum... Don't hesitate to ask us for advice! We can provide you with the contact details of all our exhibitors, some of whom will be happy to show you around their farms or workshops on request. The shop is open 7 days a week.

The Négra lock was one of the stops of the "Barque de Poste" which provided passenger transport between Toulouse and Agde from 1681. From Toulouse, the boats arrived for lunch at the Négra lock (dinner). Travellers found nearby an inn, a cooler to cool drinks and a chapel that can still be visited. Simple lock located on the Canal du Midi. The lockkeeper's house and the dovecote, as well as the port and the washhouse date from the construction of the canal. The washhouses, planned from the beginning, were severely regulated. Beware of anyone who came to wash their clothes without being authorized to do so! As for thefts of linen, they were punished by imprisonment. This covered wash-house is the oldest, with a bench and a fireplace to heat water.
