



A trail which follows the Canal du Midi. Possibility to do this on roller-skates or on foot. Discover this majestic canal built by Pierre-Paul Riquet with its centuries-old plane trees.
The Canal du Midi, built starting in 1666, a total of 240 km long with its main purpose being to transport merchandise, notably grain grown in the Lauragais area until 1970.
The Canal du Midi is classified as part of UNESCO’s World Heritage sites since December 5th 1996.
The green trail (3metres wide) was established along the former tow path allows vacationers to peacefully discover the area's rich heritage at their own pace.
The trail may be followed from Toulouse to Port Lauragais or the other way around with access possible at various points all along the way (for example at the canal-locks).
