Situated at 40 km from the centre of Paris at 150 km from Disneyland® Paris, the Crécy golf course settled in a prestigious site in the heart of the Brie region it unites the charm of a 17th century farm and modern comfort and services. Open all year round Crécy golf course welcomes you seven days a week. Run by Eric Vignot since July 2015 the facility takes a new revival conserving the nice club spirit and ambiance. The golf course provides two 18 holes parts: the part Vignoly designed by Arnold Palmer offers a real challenge: valleys and 14 ponds as well as 63 bunkers. This part is shaped for national and international competitions and open for regular players. The part allows to spend one or more days in an exceptional leisure setting. The Montpichet part is more flat with fruit trees it is of nice quality and nicely and skilfully maintained. He simple ambiance and calm make the assets of this part open to experienced players as well as to beginners. The golf course offers a nice competition schedule, a gold school (up from age of 7), lessons and training days. Open to non-members. Course 36 holes, practice with 37 positions. Built by the transient fortune of two financiers at the end of Louis XIV’s reign, this chateau is a model of eighteenth century architecture and decoration. The most famous occupier was the Marquise de Pompadour, who rented the chateau for three years in 1757, spending a considerable amount on it. The century which followed saw the chateau passing from hand to hand before being acquired by Count Louis Cahen d’Anvers, who spent a fortune on restoring it. The Count’s son gifted the chateau and land to the State in 1935 and it became one of the official residences of the French Republic. Many kings and heads of State were welcomed there. The architect Jean Baptiste Bullet endeavoured to improve domestic layout by building rooms that no longer communicated with each other, an innovation. For the first time, there were ante-rooms and dressing rooms, and hidden staircases for access to the servants’ quarters. The novelty of a dining room specially reserved for taking meals was also an improvement. In the salons and rooms on the ground floor and first floor, exquisite furniture and refined decorations can be seen. The Chinese salon has panels painted by Huet that illustrate the oriental tastes of the eighteenth century. Visitors will see a delightful portrait of the Marquise dressed as a gardener on their tour.

A discovery tour around the Brie de Meaux AOP is waiting for you. Historical reenactments and tableaux will allow you discover more about the history of this famous cheese. You will discover the different steps in its making, from the milk harvest to the maturing in cellars. You will then learn about the current stakes for the Brie de Meaux AOP which is proudly represented by its Brotherhood. With a collection of almost 70,000 objects and documents tracing the daily and military life of the 14-18 war, the Musée de la Grande Guerre, which opened its doors on November 11, 2011 on the site of the First Battle of the Marne in Meaux, is Europe's largest museum on the First World War. Over 4,000 m², it presents one of the richest and most diversified collections on the First World War, in an attractive and innovative scenography. The Musée de la Grande Guerre is the ideal place for a family visit. A veritable educational treasure trove through the collection: see, hear, touch, handle.... A playful itinerary accessible to visitors aged 5 and over: projections of archive images, trench reconstructions, a video space in which visitors are immersed among the soldiers in the trenches or on the battlefield, games to discover the composition of uniforms, the sounds of war, the geographical evolution of conflict zones... The native place of Louis Braille is situated in this typical village in a street bearing his name. The house was turned into a museum in 1959, classified as national monument it has conserved its authentically setting and aspect. The museum is run by the world organisation for blind, the French comity Louis Braille and the township of Coupvray, owner of the place. In 2009 a new entrance hall was set up in the former barn building it is named after “Jean Roblin ” founder of a local association, which has conserved this place before it became a museum. Louis Braille is born here in on January 4th 1809. At the age of 3 the boy hurt his eye using the tools of his father a saddle marker. The infection passed to the second eye and the boy goes blind t the age of 5. He is a brilliant student in the village school, which he left at the age of 10 in order to continue his studies in Paris at the royal institution for blind. There Louis Braille elaborates and teaches his system of writing based on six raised points namely for music also. 1835 Louis Braille has tuberculosis of which he dies in 1852. First buried in the local cemetery close to his family his corps is brought to the Pantheon in 1952 for a national tribute to his invention. There is a reliquary of his hands on the funeral monument in Coupvray.

On foot, by bike, on horseback, by boat... The Marne and its banks can be discovered throughout the whole year. The river runs through nine communes of Marne and Gondoire. The Marne is the longest French tributary. 525 km long, the Marne begins in Haute-Marne, on the Langres plateau. You can travel along its 183 km of navigable streams, from Epernay to its confluence the Seine, and enjoy a river stop at Lagny-sur-Marne. It is the ideal departure point to discover a region with a rich natural and historic heritage, but also to enjoy water and sporting activities like rowing and canoeing.

Between the Marne and farmland, the Forêt régionale des Vallières grows on the underground galleries of former gypsum quarries. Perched on a hillside, this forest overlooks the regional leisure island of Jablines-Annet (77) and is home to remarkable biodiversity. Because of its ornithological interest, the Forêt régionale des Vallières is fully included in the Natura 2000 site “Les boucles de la Marne”, under the Birds Directive. It is also a refuge for many species of bat. The site is managed by Île-de-France nature, which organizes themed nature events throughout the year.

The ancient domain of the Rothschild family has become for its forest parts a regional forest. Majestic trees and ponds as well as alleys created for hunting in geometrical schemes form a nice setting for walkers. Deer and wildlife is preserved and forest settings around Ferrières are a nice leisure area for inhabitants and tourists. The Ile de France commission for nature areas and parks is in charge of this forest and locally points out some nice walking paths to discover this environment.

At 30 km from Paris this leisure centre offers a unique setting in this region. Amongst the proposed facilities, the is a camp site ***, several nature trails, sport and relaxation facilities, a horse riding centre, water sport as sailing, wakeboard or canoeing. Of course there is swimming in nice clean water (“Pavillon bleu” blue flag a French environment label). There is also a special attention accorded to permit handicapped people to have access to leisure activities. The leisure centre of Jablines offers a wide range of activities all year round.

The Moulin Jaune is a laboratory of creation, in continuous evolution and eternally unfinished. Garden-Theatre The garden of the Moulin Jaune, recognised as an ""Outstanding garden"" by the Ministry of Culture in December 2014, is a park made up of several gardens which are the scenes of artistic work. Each with its dominant colour, its little scenic spaces and its cabin to work, escape, sleep or play... Constantly evolving, the garden is being constructed progressively, with spaces in planning, some in transformation, others finally in a temporary balance. Several landscape artists, gardeners and teams, including integration programmes and volunteer gardeners, work there throughout the year, distributed depending on the projects. Maison-Théâtre In 2001, Slava Polunin moved to the banks of the Grand Morin. The building, modified many times over the centuries, had been uninhabited for over 20 years. Without betraying its history, he made it a place of work and living. Each room has its own atmosphere, a product of travels, childhood memories and the imagination of Slava and all those he invited there. Safety reasons prevent him from opening the doors of his Mill as often as he would like to. In 2014, the farmhouse was renovated. The building was crowned with a work of art made from chestnut oat planks. There are rooms for the artists, artisans and temporary or residential associates.

At 35 km from Paris the regional leisure ground of Vaires - Torcy offers a change of scenery a nice place for leisure hours with your family or friends. Sport and leisure activities natural and calm settings await you here at the gates of Marne la Vallée new town. The leisure ground is situated on the banks of Marne river and displayed in two parts: - the site of Vaires is dedicated to water sport, tennis and fitness activities. - the site of Torcy offers a poney club, a golf and a beach of 7000m2 and 10 000m2 of lawn for swimming and relaxing (“Pavillon bleu” blue flag a French environment label). With its 350 hectares of natural settings in the new town section of Marne la Vallée the Vaires - Torcy is an ideal area for families. The leisure ground administrated by the Ile de France region and the UCPA association welcomes 500 000 people each year more than 80 % of them are free of charge.

This former sand pit, located in a loop of the Marne in the municipalities of Trilbardou and Charmentray constitutes a body of water of more than 100 hectares. As part of its policy of land acquisition and enhancement of sensitive natural areas, the General Council of Seine-et-Marne is working to enhance the Olivettes site. This natural space shelters a remarkable avifauna in period of nesting and wintering; such as the Goldeneye or Common Merganser hibernating in winter, or the Black Milan and the Bluethroat (species breeding in the reed bed of the site: access prohibited unless authorized). >> A pedestrian path (accessible to people with reduced mobility and strollers) allows you to discover the natural and landscape heritage of the site. Do not miss the two observatories!

This village, known as the Venice of the Brie (Venise de la Brie), has retained its own character, based on a distinctively structured street plan inherited from the Middle Ages. The main streets follow the curves of the brassets, or defensive ditches fortified by walls and towers, of which many vestiges remain. There are several suggestions for walks, such as the new "Valley of the Painters of the Grand Morin" trail on which the visitor discovers the landscapes which have been shaped by water and inspired many artists such as Corot, Toulouse-Lautrec and Servin. The tanners’ houses are dotted alongside the canals and there is a splendid parish church. The hamlet of La Chapelle has kept its Collegiate church of Notre Dame de l’Assomption, built around 1250 in the lower reaches of the valley. It is reinforced by particularly well-developed flying buttresses. Its tower with its double saddleback roof is typical of the Brie region. Fragments of bas-relief have been found in the nave and have been placed in the spandrel above the main entrance. Three levels of windows in exceptionally unadorned gothic style illuminate the church’s interior. The nave is twelfth century while the side aisles towards the façade date from the fifteenth century.
