Technique against the backdrop of the Pyrenees Challenging due to its distance and technicality, this circuit will take you through our countryside where you can admire endless fields of crops with the Ariège Pyrenees as a backdrop. You will pass by charming villages such as La Bastide-de-Lordat, Le Carlaret, Les Issards and Les Pujols. This route perfectly combines physical activity with a beautiful environment. Route: Loop La Tour-du-Crieu, Le Carlaret, La-Bastide-de-Lordat, Saint-Amadou, Les Issards, Les Pujols.

This very easy route is ideal for a short family outing or your first attempt at mountain biking. You will follow easily accessible paths that will introduce you to the crops, livestock and some of the heritage of our countryside. When you return from this route, you will undoubtedly be hooked on mountain biking and will want to tackle longer circuits without hesitation. Route: loop around La Tour-du-Crieu.

For experienced mountain bikers, this tour will take you through the Terrefort region where you will ride through valleys and hillsides. Whatever the season, it will offer you breathtaking landscapes and views.

From the Lauragais plain and the banks of the Canal du Midi, escape to the hillsides of south-east Toulouse to discover the Voie d'Arles-GR653. Along the way, you'll come across panoramic views of the Pyrenees, between ridges and valleys, and local producers in the surrounding area. Follow the red and white GR653 markings all the way along. Places of interest along the way: - Village of Baziège: former Laurag cooperative of wheat growers, Saint-Etienne church (14th century) and milestone (4th century), grain market, former Aéropostale lighthouse, etc. - Canal du Midi, Montgiscard lock and wash-house - Village of Montgiscard and its Grand'Rue with its 20th-century postcard appearance - Village of Montbrun-Lauragais, hamlet of Montbrun-le-Vieux, working mill and the bakery L'Ami du Pain d'Autan, which processes the flour produced at the mill - The village of Corronsac and its heritage interpretation trail (planned for early 2026), the church of the Nativity of the Virgin with its bell tower reminiscent of that of the Basilica of Saint-Sernin in Toulouse. - Village of Rebigue: orientation table and panoramic view of the Pyrenees mountain range - Village of Pechbusque, 19th-century church of Saint-Jacques (IMH listed) and its Pietà, which can be seen inside - Garden of scents and colours and botanical trail in the hills above Ramonville Saint-Agne

This hike between ridges and valleys offers fine views over the Toulouse plain and the Lauragais farmlands, which change colour with the seasons. Discover the village of Baziège and its fertile hills shaped by the Autan wind. A stopover on the Roman road from Narbonne to Toulouse, Baziège was an important commercial centre in the Middle Ages. Its salt and wheat markets (in the 11th and 18th centuries) and then its pastel markets in the Renaissance contributed to its fortunes.

Montgeard was a walled village founded in 1317, in the forest of Nailloux, by the King of France Philippe V (The Long). By this act he asserted his authority in the Lauragais hills, the cradle of Catharism and the hostility of the catholic church. Today, Montgeard is a charming, little village on a hill. But it had its hour of glory in the 16th century. Indeed, in the past, wealthy merchants lived in Montgeard: from simple landowners, they had become important figures thanks to the culture of pastel, a dyeing plant with which clothes could be dyed blue. Discover the magnificent 16th century church, entirely financed by the pastel merchants of the village and the "château", a splendid mansion dating back to 1555. A must-see for your visit to Pamiers! Built in the 12th century at the foot of the now-destroyed castle, the church of St-Jean Baptiste and St-Jean l'Evangéliste, which became Notre Dame du Mercadal in the 15th century, was the town's first church, and all that remains of the 12th-century building is the Romanesque portal adorned with capitals depicting biblical scenes. In the 14th century, the Mercadal church was enlarged. The superb bell tower, inspired by the Jacobin bell tower in Toulouse, was built at this time. The Hundred Years' War, the Navarre War of Succession and local conflicts led to the looting and destruction of the cathedral. Reconstruction work began around 1662, but was halted due to a lack of funds. It resumed in 1685. The church was consecrated on 9 January 1689. The single nave building is simple and majestic. The interior woodwork, paintings and silverware give it a prestigious character. In 1777, the church was fitted with a large organ from the Daurade church in Toulouse, housed in a remarkable 18th-century case that has been listed as a Monument Historique. Major work was carried out on the bell tower and roof between 1833 and 1875. Saint-Antonin Cathedral was listed as a Historic Monument on 9 August 1906.
