The walk is a 5.3 km circular route, easy to access, just follow the yellow signs for almost 1h30. The DROP-IN Lauraguès leisure center, welcomes young and old alike to its many water sports activities, including its famous aquatic inflatable playground. The 5km shoreline path can be explored on foot or by bike. The lake offers a wide range of activities all year round: orienteering courses, hiking, sports equipment, etc. There is also a mini golf course next to the lake campsite, open by prior arrangement. The leisure centre is open in summer, with canoes, pedalos and paddle boards for hire. Swimming is permitted and supervised every day in July and August from 1pm to 6pm. For thrill-seekers, the Aquaparc Lauragais is not to be missed: inflatable structures floating on the water make for one hell of a sporting challenge (from age 7). Montgeard was a walled village founded in 1317, in the forest of Nailloux, by the King of France Philippe V (The Long). By this act he asserted his authority in the Lauragais hills, the cradle of Catharism and the hostility of the catholic church. Today, Montgeard is a charming, little village on a hill. But it had its hour of glory in the 16th century. Indeed, in the past, wealthy merchants lived in Montgeard: from simple landowners, they had become important figures thanks to the culture of pastel, a dyeing plant with which clothes could be dyed blue. Discover the magnificent 16th century church, entirely financed by the pastel merchants of the village and the "château", a splendid mansion dating back to 1555.
