At the foot of Burat, the Salode hut is a great place to stop for a picnic with a splendid view. Located on pastoral land, be sure to keep away from the herds. Cross the village of Gouaux-de-Luchon. At the last house, the track climbs up to your right. A series of hairpin bends and then a climb through the forest will take you to the hut.

Come and discover the Saint André chapel, a 12th-century Romanesque monument in the Comminges style, offering a touching sight. Also known as the Saint André chapel, this hike will take you to the foot of this Romanesque monument and then to a magnificent viewpoint over the valley and the foothills of the Lège mountain.

A demanding but accessible route that takes you through the high altitude landscapes of the Luchonnais. Between steep valleys, forest paths and breathtaking panoramas, this loop takes you to the heart of the Pyrenean mountains, all the way to the village of Artigue, perched against the highest peaks. From the very first steps, the path invites you to walk alongside the Pique, a tributary of the Garonne. The terrain soon rises through the forest, revealing some lovely viewpoints. The effort becomes noticeable as the gradient rises, but progress along these gentle paths remains smooth and pleasant. You then join a side path that offers superb views of the Luchon Pyrenees all the way to the village of Artigue.

Trail accessible in winter. A wooded hike that is a more discreet alternative to the GR10 to reach the village of Sode, where you will have a superb view. You can continue on to the village of Artigue! From the town hall in Salles, turn right towards the centre of the village, then turn left towards Sode (signpost 13). In the forest, you will reach a fork in the road; take the right towards Sode. The descent to Juzet-de-Luchon is via the GR10, then take the Departmental Road 125 to Salles.

A unique viewpoint over the high peaks of Luchon and the Maladetta massif. Follow in the footsteps of hikers on the GR 10, the legendary trail that crosses the Pyrenees from east to west. Did you know? Luchon is located right in the middle of this 900 km long trail. Cross the village of Artigue until you reach the church, where you will find the GR10 or No. 65 signposts leading up through the pastures to the Saunères hut, then higher up to the Peyrehitte hut (where you may encounter herds of cattle with Patou dogs).

Accessible in winter. This easy walk along the railway line, with views of the high peaks of the Luchonnais, has a more challenging option as far as the perched hamlet of Montmajou. You'll walk alongside the Pique, a tributary of the Garonne. Start at the northern entrance to the village of Antignac, not far from the level crossing (sign). Climb up into the forest, then join Cier-de-Luchon and return along the railway line.

Starting from Mayrègne, this panoramic loop leads to the summit of Antenac before descending along the ridges towards Saint-Paul-d'Oueil. A varied and wild route, alternating between peaceful forests, high-altitude meadows and open ridges. Throughout the loop, views of the Oueil valley and the surrounding summer pastures continue to unfold. From the very first metres, the trail climbs upwards through pastoral surroundings. The atmosphere becomes wilder as you reach the ridges leading to the summit of Antenac. Up there, you will find yourself at a veritable viewpoint over the Oueil valley, the Port de Balès and the peaks of Luchon. Following the ridge route, the landscape becomes undeniably open and bright before the gentle descent to Saint Paul d'Oueil.

Pass through Saint-Bertrand de Comminges and you will be climbing towards the Port de Balès. This unclassified pass (average gradient 6.3%, maximum 11.7%) is tough, but at the top you will be rewarded with an exceptional 360° panorama of the high peaks of the Pyrenees. From Marignac station, head towards Loures Barousse / Saint-Bertrand de Comminges, then Sarp to reach Mauléon Barousse. This is the start of the climb up to the Port de Balès. Once at the pass, descend towards Luchon, passing through all the villages in the Oueil valley, before reaching Marignac station via the D125.

The climb up the Portillon Pass through the pine trees will not leave you indifferent. It is a Category 1 pass (average gradient 6.8%, maximum gradient 8.2%). From there, you will take From Marignac station, turn right towards Saint-Béat-Lez and then Spain to reach the foot of the Portillon pass at the exit of Bossost. At the top, descend towards Luchon and then return to Marignac via the D 125C and D 125. Each bend in the climb up the Col du Portillon honours one of the Spanish winners of the Tour de France, with a stele summarising their victories. The view is worth stopping for a moment to contemplate.

A hike through the forest, dotted with picnic tables for rest stops and hidden chapels. Its twenty-metre span, twelve-metre waist and unusual shape make it a very rare specimen. Five trunks grow from a single trunk base, intertwined with a rock. Those who come across this phenomenon in the heart of the national forest wonder which came first, the tree or the rock. If you put your hand in a hole in the trunk, you can feel the rock inside, a curiosity of nature! The stream brings a welcome coolness in summer.

We offer 70 pitches for tents, caravans and motorhomes and 38 mobile homes (some with air conditioning) with all mod cons, spread out over a 2-hectare wooded park and close to the town centre and thermal baths. An ideal location for doing everything on foot! The Au fil de l'Oô*** campsite welcomes you at the foot of the Pyrenees, in the heart of the town of Luchon, renowned for its thermal baths. We offer 38 mobile homes with 1, 2 or 3 bedrooms, furnished like cottages and harmoniously spread out along landscaped paths, preserving your privacy while promoting a village atmosphere. All our mobile homes have a generous wooden terrace of up to 25m². A garden shed completes your outdoor space and provides you with garden furniture, a parasol and a barbecue. Inside your mobile home, you will find all the amenities you need (shower room, toilet, etc.), fully equipped kitchen and satellite TV. Some of our models offer additional comfort features such as a dishwasher or pull-out beds in the second bedroom to save space. We also offer 70 spacious, grassy pitches for tents, caravans and motorhomes, alongside the river. Electricity is available on all our pitches and a service area for motorhomes is at your disposal. You have free WiFi access from your pitch. During the season, we organise pétanque and belote tournaments, tarot games and entertainment such as karaoke, themed meals and musical evenings. Our snack bar is open every day in July and August and occasionally during the mid-season, so you can enjoy a meal in a peaceful, family atmosphere. Arriving by train?
