Description
Starting from Mayrègne, this panoramic loop leads to the summit of Antenac before descending along the ridges towards Saint-Paul-d'Oueil. A varied and wild route, alternating between peaceful forests, high-altitude meadows and open ridges. Throughout the loop, views of the Oueil valley and the surrounding summer pastures continue to unfold.
From the very first metres, the trail climbs upwards through pastoral surroundings.
The atmosphere becomes wilder as you reach the ridges leading to the summit of Antenac. Up there, you will find yourself at a veritable viewpoint over the Oueil valley, the Port de Balès and the peaks of Luchon.
Following the ridge route, the landscape becomes undeniably open and bright before the gentle descent to Saint Paul d'Oueil.

Detailed stages
1 - Cross the village of Mayrègne (1,050 m) and take the path that climbs very gradually through the woods.
2 - At the edge of the forest, you will reach an open summer pasture with an unattended hut and, as a bonus, your first unobstructed view of the valley.
3 - The trail then climbs more steeply towards the ridge. Once on the ridge, follow it until you reach the summit of Antenac (1,992 metres). The view is panoramic over the Oueil valley and the peaks of the Luchonnais.
4 - Follow the ridge via Cap de Bassias and Cap de la Coume.
5 - The trail then descends gently through the summer pastures and gradually enters the forest. Follow the trail to the village of Saint-Paul-d'Oueil.
6 - Cross the river at the bottom of the village and follow the path that climbs gently back up to Mayrègne. -
