Accessible in winter.
This easy walk along the railway line, with views of the high peaks of the Luchonnais, has a more challenging option as far as the perched hamlet of Montmajou. You'll walk alongside the Pique, a tributary of the Garonne.
Start at the northern entrance to the village of Antignac, not far from the level crossing (sign). Climb up into the forest, then join Cier-de-Luchon and return along the railway line.
1 - The trail starts at the northern entrance to the village of Antignac, on Chemin Sascordes, not far from the level crossing (signpost no. 67). You will quickly pass through a gate and continue straight ahead on a wide track. The track then becomes a path through the woods with two short climbs.
2 - After a short descent, you will reach a track; turn right. The track on the left climbs up to Montmajou. You will then arrive at the entrance to the village of Cier-de-Luchon.
3 - At the road, turn right and then, after the level crossing, right again.
4 - Here, follow the track across the field, then the path that runs alongside the railway line.
5 - At the barrier, continue straight ahead to return to the entrance to the village of Antignac.
