


Pass through Saint-Bertrand de Comminges and you will be climbing towards the Port de Balès. This unclassified pass (average gradient 6.3%, maximum 11.7%) is tough, but at the top you will be rewarded with an exceptional 360° panorama of the high peaks of the Pyrenees.
From Marignac station, head towards Loures Barousse / Saint-Bertrand de Comminges, then Sarp to reach Mauléon Barousse. This is the start of the climb up to the Port de Balès. Once at the pass, descend towards Luchon, passing through all the villages in the Oueil valley, before reaching Marignac station via the D125.
1 - Turn right when leaving Marignac station and, at the roundabout, turn right towards Loures Barousse / St-Bertrand de Comminges (D 125).
2 - Drive through Loures Barousse and follow signs for Valcabrère, then St-Bertrand de Comminges (D 26).
3 - Turn left towards Sarp and at the roundabout, turn right towards Mauléon Barousse (D 925).
4 - In the village, take the road towards Ferrère, then Port de Balès (D 925).
5 - At the pass, descend to Luchon via the D 51 and D 618.
6 - You will reach Marignac station via the D125.
