62 - LA CABANE DE SALODE

Description
At the foot of Burat, the Salode hut is a great place to stop for a picnic with a splendid view. Located on pastoral land, be sure to keep away from the herds.
Cross the village of Gouaux-de-Luchon. At the last house, the track climbs up to your right. A series of hairpin bends and then a climb through the forest will take you to the hut.

1 - Cross the village of Gouaux-de-Luchon (933m). At the last house, the track climbs up to your right (signpost no. 62). The hairpin bends allow you to progress without too much difficulty.
2 - You will pass a gate and a little further on, a sign will tell you to climb up into the meadows on your left (sign). Follow this until you reach the entrance to a new wood. Here, the track levels out and the walk through the wood is peaceful.
3 - A few minutes later, at the exit, you will see the hut in front of you (1,561 m). The setting is simply magnificent. Take a moment to enjoy it.
4 - Return via the same route.
