It owes its fame to "The Bach Organ", a replica of the organ in Arnstadt in Thuringia (Germany), one of the few Baroque organs of which Bach was the first owner at the age of 18. Inaugurated in 2004, tours of the organ are organised in July and August. The "Bach in Combrailles" Festival (second week of August) is an opportunity to introduce the music of Bach to the inhabitants of Combrailles and to visitors. The church of Sainte Madeline dates from the 12th &13th centuries. The murals have a mysterious origin and date from the 17th and 19th centuries. The vaults are covered in starry skies, and vegetable motifs. All the stained glass windows (19th century), created by the famous master stained glass artist Félix Gaudin, are dedicated to Mary Magdalene. The bulbous bell tower gives Sainte-Madeleine church an elegant look and makes it easily recognizable. A Classified historical monument built in the 12th century with a classified portal. Particularities: a mixture of Auvergnat and Limosin style in sloping construction. This vast building is marked by many influences of the nearby Limousin. The western portal still has its original hinges. Magnificent panorama of the Anschald dam, the Chaîne des Puys and the Massif du Sancy offered from the Puy de Moufle. The enamelled lava orientation table allows you to see what is in front of you. This small church, situated on a promontory, has a chevet characteristic of the Auvergne Romanesque. Adjacent to the church, the "snail shell" cemetery, at the top of the hillock, is an original feature of this site. It was built in 1147. Behind the church, the ruins of the castle (12th-13th century) can still be seen. Guillaume de Beaufort donated his sacristy rights to this church to the cathedral chapter of Clermont-Ferrand when he left for the Crusades.
