An easy, shaded loop, ideal in hot weatherThis accessible, easy loop takes you through the shade of the Giroussens forest for a refreshing and pleasant break in nature. Between clearings, wooded paths and open landscapes overlooking the Agout valley, the route is perfect for relaxation. Please note: avoid this trail between September and February during hunting season. From the car park, facing the signpost, turn left towards the two fork paths. Take the right-hand path, which leads straight to La Pelforte. Cross the small hamlet, then continue on the road opposite towards the forest. Enter a forest of oak and hornbeam trees. The undergrowth is pleasantly filled with ferns, honeysuckle, holly and other shrubs. Further on, the path crosses a clearing of pine and fir trees, accompanied by heather. You then come to a clearing bordered by ferns. Descend slightly. At the first crossroads, go straight ahead, then turn left at the next intersection. Cross the Tort stream; the path then climbs until it joins the Barraque Basse communal road. Turn right onto a wide path lined with oak trees for about 500 m. Then turn right onto a small, easy path that descends gently towards the stream. The path winds through the woods before joining a wide firebreak track. Continue straight ahead on the wide stony track. Continue until you see a statue of the Virgin Mary, slightly set back from the path. At the fork, turn right, go downhill, then back up the path. Finish by turning right again to return to the car park.

Take the Gaudentius trail and be amazed by the exceptional views from the top of the valleys. Follow the old Lavaur road that once connected Lautrec to Ambres. Continue to the limestone site of Prône, which dates back to a distant past. Follow the meadow next to the community hall where the children's outdoor playground is located. At the end, turn left to pass between the houses. Take the dirt path that runs alongside the fields and climb into the woods. At the top, turn right. Continue straight on the path, then descend the road to the D15. At the bottom, turn left and walk about a hundred meters, then turn left to take the path through the woods that will lead you to the footbridge. Cross the stream and climb back into the woods via the path. When you reach the D15, cross it and climb between the field and the undergrowth. Continue until you reach the road. When you reach the road, walk along the edge for 200 meters and take the second path on the left, "Borie-courte". Go straight, pass the picnic tables, and descend the path to "Brandes". At the fork, turn left and immediately right towards Saint-Martin. At the Saint-Martin de Casselvi church, cross the departmental road and leave the road that goes to the church. Continue straight and leave the road that goes to Fiac. After 500 meters, take "Le Planet" and continue to reach the Prône quarries. Take the second path on the left to pass through the quarries and reach the road. Pass "En Salinier" and go left onto the pavement. Then take the grassy path and descend. Pass by a lake and continue until you reach the houses. After the houses, reach the road, cross it, then descend to return to the starting point

The trail starts in the center of Briatexte and continues through rolling countryside, offering beautiful views of the Dadou Valley and, in good weather, the Pyrenees and the Montagne Noire. From the Monument Square, next to the town hall, walk straight towards the 13th-century Place à Couvert. After the square, turn left onto the street and continue straight ahead. Descend to the right on the gravel path towards the river. Cross the footbridge and follow the dirt path. At the intersection with the road, turn right towards the roundabout and then continue towards Saint Martin. Walk for 350 meters and turn left. At this fork, continue straight on the road. At the junction with the D 11, continue straight. At this intersection, turn left onto the "Sentier des Crêtes, vineyard shortcut." After 20 meters, take the right onto the stony path. After 350 meters, cross the road and continue downhill between woods and meadows on this wide path for 2 kilometers until you reach LD Namans. At the crossroads, turn left onto the road which becomes a grassy path. Continue straight from En Ségur to La Borie Blanche. At this intersection, turn left and walk for 450 meters to reach the road, then turn right to descend back to the village.

At the crossroads, take the grassy path. Pass through the field (beware of beehives!) and go straight up through the woods. Turn left and head up towards Grèzes on the grassy path. At the intersection with the road, turn left and walk 250 meters, then turn left onto the path (with a beautiful view of the Dadou Valley). Continue through the Grèze Plain and cross the Carrelié woods to Namans. Continue straight from En Ségur to Borie Blanche. At this intersection, turn left and walk 450 meters to reach the road, then turn right to descend back to the village.

This route offers hikers the opportunity to explore the Dadou Valley from the formerly fortified village, which sits at an altitude of 280 meters. Located on a ridge of puddingstone within the molasse, the site is set amidst a vast natural amphitheater. At the bottom of the village, descend the stairs. At the end, turn left and then right onto a grassy path. Continue straight down. After the stream, the path turns left. Follow it to reach a lake. Go around the lake. At the second angle of the lake, descend to the right via discreet steps. Cross the stream and then ascend left on the path. Follow it until you exit the woods. Climb up the path directly in front. Ignore the first path on the right and turn onto the second, which leads to the road. Turn right. At the road junction, head right towards Jamblanc. Higher up, the road becomes a path. At the road, go left. Before the road junction, turn right onto the path. This leads to the Saint-Martin de Grizac chapel. At the cemetery corner, turn left. At the bottom of the road, turn left. Further along, follow the sign to Puybegon to reach the road junction from the outward route. Ignore Jamblanc. After 350 meters, ascend right onto the dirt path. It passes below the Saint-Sigismond chapel. At the tarmac, descend left. At the road, turn right. Further on, take the dead-end path. Before Mondelié, turn left onto the grassy path. At the RD, turn left. At the next intersection, turn right towards Le Moulin. Cross the bridge and continue straight to reach a road junction. Leave Gravelle to the left and a road to the right to continue straight. Further on, turn left towards Borie Nove. Leave the road for a path. After 250 meters, enter the woods on the left via a discreet path to reach the Sainte-Cécile de Mouribal chapel. Continue along the path and then, on the road, turn left. Descend the road to the junction (point 6), turn right on the road, go 200 meters, then turn right at the fork. Stay on the road until you reach the village.

On the way to the lakeBelcastel, a former stronghold, is a charming village gathered around its 12th-century fortress church. According to 19th-century writings, the building was originally a chapel dependent on the Belcastel castle, which was destroyed during the French Revolution. The sandstone bell tower-dungeon was likely used to keep watch over enemies from its 22-meter height.Download the hiking guide in PDF format From the starting sign, opposite the town hall, take the small road marked 'chemin du lavoir.' Follow this road downhill for 100 meters, then leave it and take the path in front of you when you reach a bend, to the right near the small shed. Follow the path downhill until you reach a junction. Turn left and continue straight along the Bernède stream. You will reach a crossing with the D35. Be cautious when crossing the road, and immediately turn left into the field. Follow the ditch on your right for a few meters before turning left along the Nadalou stream. Make sure the stream is on your right as you go. Continue along the path through the fields until you reach the road. Carefully cross the road and take the dirt path in front of you. Continue along this path and trail for several kilometers along the lake. The trail continues until you reach a small grove, where you cross the stream via a wooden footbridge. Once across, turn right to begin the return along the other side of the lake. At the place called 'l’Espagnole,' the trail briefly leaves the lakeside. You need to take the slight uphill path on your left to rejoin the road a little higher up. At the intersection, turn left, and do not enter the private road on the right. After 100 meters, turn right and descend the dirt road to return to the lakeside. Continue until you cross the dam to complete the loop around the lake. Go straight ahead following the dam and climb a few meters on a steep slope to rejoin the path taken earlier. Then turn left onto the trail. Retrace your steps through the fields along the Nadalou stream and then the Bernède stream. Be careful, at point no. 2, make sure to turn right at the junction and again to your right to take the path back up to the village

From the Vinovalie cooperative cellar, you start off quietly on a flat path through a district of Rabastens. Then, as you make your way through the countryside, you take to the heights, following the path that runs alongside the vines. You'll be able to admire vestiges of the past (the typical Gaillac dovecote and the Trémège well) and the magnificent view of the Salvagnac hills before returning to Rabastens. An easy walk through the heart of the region. At the end of the walk, don't hesitate to push open the door of the cellar to taste some red or white wines. Starting from the Rabastens cellar, head towards the town center, then turn into a street on the right. Arrive at an intersection. Turn left onto Rue des Ormes. At the intersection in front of a retirement home, turn right and continue straight until you reach a stop sign. Turn right, then immediately go left onto Avenue de la Croix-Blanche. Go straight up the road and arrive at a fork in the road, at a place called Les Bordes. Continue on the road. First pass in front of a pigeon house, then near a well, and finally go straight up a grassy path at La Trémège. Emerge onto a road. Turn right. Before reaching Fourtet, in a curve, turn right onto a grassy path. Reach an intersection of grassy paths with orientation tables. Go down to the left on a path that runs along vineyards. Walk for about 400 meters, then at a crossroads, turn right onto a grassy path, and continue to an intersection. Go straight down on a grassy path. In a curve after a house, reach an orientation table. Go down to the left by stairs and continue straight. At the bottom of the path, turn right onto a dirt road. After 500 meters, at the corner of a house, turn left to go around the Rabastens school complex. At the road, go left to return to the starting point.

At the edge of Graulhet, discover the charms of the wildlife around Lake Nabeillou and the adjacent forest: squirrels, nightingales, dragonflies, butterflies, and water turtles, among others, will guide your walk. Also, enjoy the breathtaking views of the Graulhet countryside, with its rolling hills and vibrant colors. From the parking lot, follow the gravel path up to a farm. Pass in front of the farm, then turn right into the housing development. Continue uphill for about 200 meters, then turn left towards the Notre-Dame-des-Vignes chapel. Facing the cemetery wall, turn left, then right at the corner. Pass to the left of the monument. Descend via a small road. At the road junction, turn right and reach an intersection. Turn left into a downhill alley and reach a crossroads of paths. Ascend right on a gravel path. A lake is on the left. Reach a road and turn left until you reach a crossroads. Turn left towards Souque and Vivier. Walk for about 150 meters, then turn right onto a grassy path towards Vivier. Reach a road and turn right for about 80 meters. -> To the right, off the trail, there is an option to visit Lake Miquelou (a 2.5 km round trip). Turn left at Capelette, then left again at a road intersection. At the first crossroads, continue straight towards Saint-Paules and Les Escudiés. At the second crossroads, descend straight on a gravel path. Ascend straight on the path you took earlier. Continue straight to a road intersection. Turn right. Pass Pradarié, then turn right onto a grassy path. Pass beside an orchard, then immediately turn left. Walk along the edge of fields and descend through a woodland. At the bottom of the wood, on a path, turn left. At a crossroads under poplars, turn right. Follow along the right side of Lake Nabeillou and return to the starting point by crossing the dam.

Plains and hills, vineyards, umbrella pines, and cypresses transform the medieval bastide of Lisle-sur-Tarn into a city reminiscent of Tuscany... but in Occitania. Discover the history of this part of Tarn through the reading of its landscape. Starting from the Church of Notre Dame de la Jonquière, take the street to the right of the church, Rue de l'Ancien Collège, then turn left onto Rue Adrien Vialas. At the crossroads with the fountain and the statue of Lapérouse, you have the option to descend to the right to the old port of Lisle-sur-Tarn. Continue straight on Rue de la Chambre de l’Édit until you reach the square. Go up it on the left. At the road, turn right along Avenue Jules Ferry. Pass by the school on the developed pathway. At Esplanade Pierre Cayla, take Rue Pierre Salvet to the right, and immediately left on the developed passage. At the street, turn left and then right to follow another developed pathway. Continue straight ahead past Château Bellevue, then descend the path to the right. Skirt the leisure center on the right by following the fence. Continue straight to the right of the pool along the hedge until you reach the camper parking. Skirt the pond on the right and follow the road bordering the subdivision. At the crossroads, turn right. The road becomes a path. Follow it to the house. Pass to the left of the house and follow the passage between the pond and the road, under the cypress trees. Cross the stream and continue straight through the field parallel to the D988 to access a path, take it to the right to reach La Pisse. This leads to Château de Lastours. In front of the castle entrance, continue on the path straight ahead to reach the church of Saint-Vincent d’Avens. Stay on this path towards the D988, under the bridge to reach the garden center. Follow the road straight ahead. Cross the railway. At the crossroads, turn left on the road leading to La Sabatterie. At the crossroads, turn right until the road. Cross it to take the direction of Brancou straight ahead. Continue on the path bordered by oak trees. At the crossroads, in the middle of the vineyards, turn left following the GR® 46. At the parasol crossroads, continue straight. Follow this path to the houses of Saurs. At the intersection, follow the path of the blacksmith straight ahead. Optionally, turn right to visit the church of Saurs. At the D18 road, continue straight on the orchard path. Pass by a house and continue on the path. At the next intersections, always go straight. After a right turn, follow the main path to the left until the road. Follow the road to the right (GR® 46). At Les Cougettes, leave the road to take the path to the left. 100m further, before a left turn, leave the main path to climb left on the grassy path along a vineyard. This climbs right and then left to access below Montaigut. Follow the hollow path to the right. At the path, turn left until the church of Montaigut. Descend the path straight ahead. Follow the road straight ahead to pass, on the left, in front of the cemetery. Follow the descending path until the road. Cross it. At the next intersection (Bories Vieilles), leave the GR® 46 and the hills of Lisle to turn right. 500m further, at the crossroads, take the path to the left until the road. Follow it uphill to the right until the hamlet of Saint-Salvy. Turn left towards "Le Tumulus." Pass by the calvary, the church, and the cemetery of Saint-Salvy de Coutens along a vineyard. At the crossroads (calvary), optionally climb right and then left to access the Tumulus. Be careful as it is private property, please respect it. Descend the path to the left leading to a property that you cross between two barns. Descend the driveway facing the property entrance. At the road, turn left, then the first road to the right towards Saint-Salvy. At the crossroads behind the property, continue straight and always go straight on a path that curves to the left. At the road, turn left, then immediately right along the plantation of moyers. Follow this path to the crossroads, turn right towards Le Griffoulet. At Le Griffoulet, turn right, then descend left after the small bridge to the D988, which you cross at the traffic light. Pass under the railway, then turn left on Rue de l’Enclos and right on Porte Peyrole to reach Place Paul Saissac. Pass under the arcades in front, then turn right in front of the town hall. Follow Rue Raimond Lafage straight ahead, then Rue de l’Église to the left to return to the starting point of the route

The Church of Saint-Martin de Mours, like a beacon, dominates the landscape and guides the walker who will discover along the way magnificent views of the Tarn Valley and the Rabastens region. From the parking lot in front of the Las Peyras School Complex in Rabastens, go right on the path that runs along houses and then fields (common route with the Amédée the winemaker's trail). Continue straight on the flat path. Cross the road and keep going in the same direction on the grassy path. To access the Church of Saint-Martin de Mours: 600m round trip from Point 3. In front of a large brick house, turn left. Pass by a private dovecote and then a small private pond. Continue straight up the path along fields (view of the Church of Saint-Martin de Mours on the right). At the top of the path, turn left. At the intersection with a gravel path, in Perelles, turn left. Reach a road; turn left and then, in front of a calvary, turn right onto a dirt path. At the next fork, go left (another common section with the Amédée the winemaker's trail). Leave the path on the right (view of the Tarn Valley) and continue straight on the grassy path. After a bend and a house (viewing table), keep descending on the path (do not take the stairs of the Amédée the winemaker's trail). Leave a path on the right and continue straight. Upon reaching the road (place called les Bordes), turn left and return to the starting point.

Unique in the Tarn, this dovecote is truly one of a kind! Entirely clad in brick, its roof resembles the shape of a police officer’s hat. Located on the historic site of Castela, it survived the great flood that devastated the neighborhood in 1930. Did you know that the Tarn has 1,700 dovecotes, and that the Castela dovecote is truly unique in the department due to the architectural shape of its roof, which resembles a gendarme’s hat? The Castela Dovecote is a Toulouse-style structure with a double-sloped roof, featuring a row of glazed brick tiles that prevented rodents from reaching the pigeons, as well as a takeoff platform shaped like a holy water font. Restored in 2010, the dovecote is located on the historic site of Castela, at the foot of the castle mound and next to the Tourist Office. Thanks to its location, it’s very easy to photograph! The vast expanse of greenery surrounding it is the perfect spot to relax, read, or have fun with your feet in the grass! It’s an ideal place to have a picnic or recharge with your family. On the castle mound, nestled in beautiful greenery, stand the ruins of the keep and chapel of the ancient fortified castle built around 1240 by Sicard Alaman, a lord from Albi. It’s an ideal spot to enjoy a leisurely stroll. The castle is listed as a historic monument and is one of the must-see sites in the town of Saint-Sulpice-La-Pointe. Perched on the ancient castle mound, the ruins of the chapel at the Château du Castela—founded by the Albi nobleman Sicard d’Alaman in 1240—bear witness to Saint-Sulpice’s rich historical past and strategic position during the Middle Ages. The castle was destroyed during the Wars of Religion in the 16th century by Protestants. In the wake of this tragedy, prominent figures from Toulouse decided to rebuild all the houses in the bastide using bricks from the castle. This is why only a few remnants of the ancient fortress remain today. Today, the Castela site offers a beautiful, lush setting where families can enjoy a picnic or simply take an impromptu nap lulled by birdsong… Newlyweds come here one after another for souvenir photos, and tourists admire the superb view of the Agout River… A haven of peace, with your feet in the grass!

UNESCO World Heritage listed (in the context of the Santiago Pilgrim Ways). The first church built in the region in the south Gothic style; it retains a magnificent portal decorated with eight Romanesque capitals and remarkable wall paintings carried out between the 13th and 16th centuries. Back in the 16th century, when the French Religious Wars were in full effect, the church of Notre-Dame du Bourg at Rabastens was looted by the Protestants, who then turned the building into a military barracks. When the Catholics finally reclaimed their church, they covered it in lime to ‘purify’ it. It was only when some restoration work was being done in the 19th century that paintings – hidden by the lime for centuries – were rediscovered, preserved in fabulous condition. The interior of Notre-Dame du Bourg is seriously flamboyant with red as the dominant colour, accented with blue and gold. Any visitor will be stunned by the beauty of the decoration.
