Hike in a beautiful glacial valley where you can find in June some rare orchids. Care for good hiking shoes, some paths are wet and slippery. In Malbo restaurant and bar to take a breather or eat something. D - DEPART: From the church at LACAPELLE-BARRES. Return to just before the D990. To the right a path leads to the bridge. Cross the bridge and take the path to the left. 1 - Higher up take the 2nd path on the right. Follow this to the D401. 2 - .Follow the D 401 on the left and 50m before the crossroad of CHATOUR cross the field to the right and cross the Siniq. A good cobblestone track climbs to NOUVIALLE (this track can be very wet underfoot.) 3 - Cross the village and follow the road 4 - Take the path to the left. The path leads to the D57.View to the Puy de Bâne 5 - Climbing again take the path on the left to just behind ROUPON and to the left to a ford (a little footbridge to the right). 6 - Arrive on the road and take the path at right climbing to MALBO (can be very muddy). Cross the village and in a bend to the right follow the road for 300m. Take the path to the left, further on the path descends very steeply to LA FRANCIO. 7 - Cross the road. follow at right. Ahead the path climbs to LABRO and right behind CHATOURS. Viex to the Aubrac plateau. 8 - After the "vacherie of Malmeza" follow the same direction in private land and 300m further below cross the stile. A path leads to the bridge and to the point of departure by a path on the left after the bridge. Mountainbike: not possible, too dangerous and wet paths.

Ladinhac offers a hiking circuit where the harmony of the landscapes and the quality of the built heritage work wonders. As you walk along, you will discover the white waters of the surrounding streams and some of the many mills in the village, not forgetting the superb views: the Vachand Waterfall, the Goul Valley, the Mounts of Cantal, the Aubrac Plateau. A family ramble, however, do not underestimate the climb up to the Lebréjal plateau. The walk along the Brezons is restful then the path on the plateau offers a beautiful view. The circuit allows you to discover many different landscapes. The BREZONS VALLEY is 30km long, 2km wide and 800m deep and considered by some to be one of the most beautiful glacial valleys of Europe. D - DEPART: Church at Saint-Martin (heritage protected and dating from the XIV century, beautiful wall pantings). Take the D990 in the direction of the Hotel de la Poste (direction of AURILLAC). 1. After the hotel take the road to the left which overlooks the housing estate. Pass near a barn to the right and descend to river Brezons. 2 - Take the path at right and continue alongside the Brezons arriving in FEYDOLS. You observe beautiful houses and an old bakery house built with local stones. 3 - At the crossroad turn left and then right before the bridge. Hugging the river, pass an isolated house on the right and climb again towards MOULINGES. Before arriving at the village there was a mineral spring in one of the houses still exploited at the beginning of the century. 4 - At MOULINGES follow the road to the right and rejoin the D990. Continue at right for 100m (view of the Chateau du Meynial, above and to the right) 5 - Take a path below and to the right of the D990. Then rejoin the road. 6 - After 800m take a steep path on the left. Cross the D990. Opposite a stony path under the woods climbs to BUZERS. 7 - At BUZERS follow the road to the right passing LADASCOLS (views of the Cantal mountains with the Puy du Bane, the Plomb du Cantal and the Puy du Rocher). 8 - 250m after the crossing cross an open terrain to the right. The path between two small walls descends in undergrowth to the D354. 9 - Climb the road for 60 m. Take a path to the right which rejoins SAINT-MARTIN SOUS-VIGOUROUX. Mountainbike: impossible

This walk includes a difficult climb and descent through the deep slopes of the Brezons valley. The descending path trough loose stones where great car must be taken. No mountainbiking possible. D - In Saint-Martin-sous-Vigouroux, on the church square (parking lot). Follow the D990 to the left, towards Brezons. At the Fournier mill (on the left), cross the bridge and continue to the LA VOLPILIERE crossroads. 1 - 200 m further on, leave the road and turn right onto a path that rises up under ash and beech trees. Climb the path winding through the forest to a wider paved track, which you follow to the right as far as the village of BOUSSAC. 2 - In the village, take the road to the left for 200 metres. Then take a sandy track to the left, which narrows to a crossroads. Take the track on the left, which leads through a field to the IZERGUES cross. View over the Brezons valley. Take the low-walled path down to the village of IZERGUES. 3 - When you reach the village of IZERGUES, take the path on the right that leads to BARRES. Continue on the tarmac road, cross CHAPUS and continue straight on to LIADIERES. Turn left onto the D39, cross the bridge and climb towards La VERGNETTE. At the entrance to the hamlet, take the left-hand path up to the village of VIGOUROUX. 4 - Place de l'église, turn left and follow signs for LEBREJAL. At the "patte d'oie" (cross), follow a wide track, then a path between low walls. 5 - A little further on, a path climbs to the right and back, bringing you to an orientation table with views of Carladez, Aubrac, Vallée de Brezons and Monts du Cantal. Rejoin the path. 6 - At a crossroads above LEBREJAL, continue straight ahead through meadows to the road at a cross. 7 - Go downhill to the left, along the edge of a meadow, then into a small wood. Reach the tarmac above a barn. Go downhill on the road, passing the first hairpin bend on the right. 8 - Then pass a second bend at the information panel erected by the Parc Naturel Régional des Volcans d'Auvergne. View of the village of SAINT-MARTIN-SOUS-VIGOUROUX, the Aubrac and the Vallée de Brezons. Continue for another 300 m. 9 - Turn left onto a path on the edge of a scree, but be careful on the way down, as the terrain is slippery. It rapidly loses altitude through an area of coppice. Lower down, at a fork, leave the right-hand branch and continue downhill between low walls, to reach the village and the starting point. Not suitable for mountain bikes.

A picturesque waterfall with a natural bassin Waterfall of the Siniq river forming a natural pont. Water is enjoyable in summer but, coming directly out of the mointains, always very fresh. D - Starting point at Capat near Malbo (take the D 54, then turn right in direction of La Francio/Capat). C Pass Capat and continue by car until the parking (1 km, drivers attention: deep ditches!). 1 - Follow the blue marking and cross a pasture (30 minutes there and back). A 3 hours hike on the pastures of the Cantal Mountains with several mountain huts called "burons" where people made formerly in the summer the famous Cantal cheese. A pleasant hike above the Brezons Valley. D – DEPART: From VIGOUROUX at the beginning of the tarred path take the car until the forest (2,5 km). Do not follow the large path opposite but make your way to the left alongside the wall. Then penetrate the wood by a path to the left. 1 - Descend to the right on a large path which crosses a beech wood, follow the edge before following the stream. Cross the stream on a bridge of stones. Climb up opposite until the road. 2 - Follow the road until MONTREAL. Pass between the houses and continue on the path which keeps to the left. Follow it. At the crossroads leave the left branch and continue until a crossroad passing in front of a farm. 3. Follow opposite on a large path between meadows. At the following fork continue right in the direction of an old cowshed with corrugated blue roof. The route of the ramble arrives at the point of the beech wood. Stay on this good path which turns to the left and reach a parking place. 4 - The path passes near the ruins of the Buron du Louvatier. Beautiful view to the High Valley of Brezons and the Cantal mountains. Stay on the good path on the left until a parking place. 5 - Leave the track and take a grassy path in undergrowth. At the first crossroad go up to the right. By some bends join a large track. 6 - Follow to the left on the edge of the wood. Follow it until an opening in the wood. View to the Lebréjal and Aubrac plateau. 7 - At the following crossroad turn left on a path which again finds the wood. At the following crossroad go right then stay on this good track until the departure point. Mountainbike: difficult level. Time: count 1 hr 30 minutes. Difficult rise and uneven track between 1 and 2. Difficult descent between 1 and 2.

Start opposite the Place de la Mairie (near the sécadou, the chestnut dryer). More family-friendly and accessible than the ‘Mills of the Goul Valley’ trail, this path will give you a different perspective on Ladinhac's small-scale built and natural heritage. She left an unforgettable memory all around the Carladès region… In 1603, Henri IV ordered to destroy the citadel and nowadays, there only remains minuscule traces of this majestic construction. The history of tungsten mining on the slopes of the River Goul. A miner’s daughter tells you how the villages of Leucamp and Teissières-lès-Bouliès lived, for nearly 50 years, to the rhythm of the mine’s work. Models, photographs and objects staged illustrate the story, from the discovery of the ore in 1910 to the abandonment of mining in 1959. Open every day all year round.

Launched in spring 2023, the Leucamp walking trail is a reminder of the past existence of an industrial activity that is hard to imagine in these parts, where nature has reclaimed its rights in such a beautiful way: mining.

“La Plantelière” is an excellent place to explore flora and fauna and it covers an area of 7Ha (17.3 acre), on the doorsteps of Aurillac. The site consists of several spaces with a wide variety of trees: maples, conifers, fruit trees, ash trees, willows, thuja, beeches… Explore its themed gardens, wildflower meadows, hedge maze, vegetable garden, orchards, educational pond... Here, maintenance and gardening are carried out without pesticides, herbicides or chemical fertilizers. La Plantelière is open to visitors free of charge, with explanatory panels and orientation trails (downloadable from aurillacagglo.fr/planteliere). A reading box, large wooden games and numerous activities bring the site to life.
