Couples in love stroll under the young Chestnut trees along the paths. He uses a free variation of the technique pointillists.They developed their compositions by paint dots. Van Gogh, in his way, applied small strokes of brushes in different directions. This helped him create the effect of a radiant spring day and the sense of intimacy he wanted to express. He had wanted to start a family, but he had impossible romantic relationships. Return on your steps up to the bascule bridge, and if you wish, cross it to return you at the foot of the Stade de France. You will find on the spot the Space Welcome Tourism, not far from which saint Denis's historic route realized by 20 borders begins and joining the basilica cathedral. After this stopping place, join again the cycle track for return in the Door of the Villette (4 km).

By creating 'The restaurant of the Sirène at Asnieres' Van Gogh was clearly influenced by the impressionist movement, and created his own style. Impressionists like Renoir preferred to show atmospheres and scenes from the inside of restaurants, while Van Gogh often portrays the outside, like this canvas. It uses bright colors, but also the luminosity of white paint to portray a summer day. In the foreground, three men sit at a table, one wears a blue shirt and a yellow straw hat, which suggests the presence of Paul Signac himself.

In 1885, Paul Signac, young self-taught painter, 22 years old, living in Asnières, meets Seurat, who dazzles him with his theories about Art and his technical knowledge. The new convert never stops painting the landscapes of his city in neo-impressionist style.

When he paints 'les chiffonniers' he is only nineteen years old, he is a very promising, clever, that presents gifts for drawing and writing. He began painting with Van Gogh, and receives a visit from Signac who noticed. Bernard deals with a modern subject : bridges adored by the impressionnists, but eliminating any picturesque character. He invented a new vision, where pictorial creation is more important than the subject represented.

The Bridges of Asnieres (Les ponts d'Asnières) was painted outside and with lots of sun. The scene represents the bridges d'Asnières including the railway bridge over the Seine. Van Gogh uses light efficiently and uses reflections in this painting. The stone pillars of the bridge are reflected in the water and the white paint is used for highlights. A woman dressed in pink with a red parasol is the focal point of the composition. During the two years Van Gogh spent in Paris (1886 -1887), he painted several paintings of bridges on the Seine.
