This former merchant house from the 13th century was used as an indoor fair during the fairs of Champagne, and then as a warehouse for the tithe from the 14th century onwards. Saint-Martin Church is located in the heart of the village of Egreville. It is built on the foundations and some walls of an earlier chapel that disappeared in a large fire in the 13th century. It was damaged during the hundred-year war and rebuilt in the 15th century. The belfry that served as a watchtower is attached to the church in the sixteenth century and becomes its main entrance. The arrow is added in the seventeenth.

The covered market replaces the one that disappeared in the fire of 1282 at the end of the 15th century. It was modified in the 17th century to stabilize it. A span was removed to build a hard limestone gable. The weekly market is always there. As well as the traditional fat poultry fair (it has existed for more than 90 years) which takes place on the second Saturday of December each year.

Beside the beautiful parish church, the ancient graveyard became a medieval garden designed upon the theme of "live and death". Twelve rectangles symbolise the twelve apostles and the twelve month of the year. As in the 13th century, the rectangles bordered by sandstone pavement are supposed to produce medical herbs, which are protected by willow branches. The flowerbeds are more decorative and surrounded by small box trees are reminding of the spiritual lectures of the symbols in the 15th century. The plants, which were all regularly used for medical purposes in the Middle Ages, bring back to memory almost forgotten smells. This medieval garden is open every day and the entrance is free. Please note that picking is forbidden, due to the toxicity of some plants.

The park of the castle of La Motte Tilly bears witness to the evolution of the gardens of the great residences. When it was created in 1754, it was a garden with regular layouts, designed by the architect François Nicolas Lancret with main roads, embroidery, bowls and rectilinear alleys. The Domaine de la Motte Tilly is the perfect example of these country residences, which the great officers of the State have built, not far from the royal power (110 km from Paris). This French-style garden only lasted for about thirty years. In the 18th century, it was the fashion for landscape romanticism with the appearance of "Anglo-Chinese" gardens: the lines bent, the flowerbeds curved, the groves diversified. Around 1787, the park was transformed according to the new taste of the time: vast lawns dotted with groves of trees with irregular edges, a gentle slope towards the body of water decorated with two artificial islands. For several years, the park has been the subject of projects aimed at restoring its appeal: design of a tilletum, collection of lime trees of different species and origins, restoration of the bouquetier garden. In 2018, in partnership with the Chlorophylle association, the 18th century vegetable garden rose from the ground and returned to its original place in the park, near the gardener's house. It is possible to visit it and buy the products of this organic vegetable garden every Wednesday!

La Motte Tilly offers visitors the chance to discover an elegant château entirely furnished in the style of the 18th century and a historic park of 62 hectares classified and labeled "Remarkable Garden". Built in 1754 for Abbot Terray, Louis XV's general controller of finances, the château was restored in 1910 by the Count of Rohan Chabot. His daughter, the Marquise de Maillé, tastefully recreated the furnishings and interior decoration that allow visitors to rediscover the art of living in the 18th century. The setting for Milos Forman's film Valmont, inspired by Choderlos de Laclos' work, Dangerous Liaisons, La Motte-Tilly is an exceptional place for the whole family. Come and admire the magnificent wall paintings in this church, known as the Chapelle de Lourps! The chapel of Lourps is today isolated on its hillside bordered by the Voulzie. But before the Revolution, it was attached to the adjacent castle and served a hamlet whose houses disappeared during the 19th century. Its rectangular plan and gable roof make it a simple building. It has no spire and its bell is housed in the roof structure. Its particularity is revealed inside, with magnificent wall paintings from the 13th and 15th centuries! These were discovered thanks to explorations during the major restoration work that began in the 1980s and lasted 12 years. This work was carried out following the collapse of the choir vault in 1966, which resulted in the chapel being closed to the public. Inside the chapel, you will find a panel describing the different stages of the restoration and a historical booklet to learn more about this real treasure, only 8 km southwest of Provins! One of the most beautiful Romanesque buildings in the Ile de France. The church of the Benedictine priory of Saint-Loup-de-Naud is one of the most beautiful roman style buildings in Ile de France! This church has a unique portal dating from the early Gothic period, sculpted with statue-columns, and fully restored since 2017. The chevet, transept and the first two bays of the nave date from the 11th century. The wall paintings in the choir and apse date from 1867. They replace much older paintings which have now been destroyed, but which have fortunately been recorded (visible on panels available in the church). Only the representation of Saint Savinien, located in the choir on the right, dates from the 12th century. The Aube has a large concentration of megaliths, mainly gathered in the northwest part of the department, the Nogentais. Menhirs, dolmens and polishers, so many stones which testify to a very distant past, the final Neolithic (2500 to 2000 BC). The men of this era used an abundant material on the territory, the Cookian sandstone formed in the Lower Eocene (53 million years BC). This explains the presence of megalithism on our territory. Listed as a Historic Monument, it was built over two centuries, between 1421 and 1551. It has a very rich movable heritage often made by renowned artists (Marius Ramus, Alfred Boucher and Paul Dubois).
