From Talloires town centre, 15 kilometers from Annecy, this hike will take you through the streets of the village then to the Saint-Germain hermitage, you will cross pretty hamlets borrowed from tranquility and sublime panoramas of the lake and the summits . If you wish, you can also take a detour to admire the Angon waterfalls. Walk accessible a good part of the year, however, muddy and slippery path in case of rain. A lovely walk mostly through the trees, perfect for a hot summer's day. Water is a constant theme, as you discover the waterfall, the bubbling "giants' cooking pots" and the views overlooking Lac d'Annecy. This family hike takes you to one of the many natural sites to discover around Lake Annecy: the Cascade d'Angon. Walkers of all ages can enjoy the pleasant experience of cooling off with droplets from the 60-metre-high waterfalls. The route follows the torrents coming directly from La Tournette, creating characteristic eddies as they carve through the rock on their way down. These are the famous "Marmites de Géant" (Giant's potholes) which, like the bridge over the Nant d'Oy (Pont des Fées) supposedly built by fairies in the past, are sure to arouse the curiosity of little ones along the way. For their part, the older children will be able to admire a number of beautiful viewpoints over the lake, La Tournette and the Dents de Lanfon.

The local nature reserve encompasses a part of the Roc de Chère, a small wooded massif (200 ha) which sticks out on Lake Annecy, between Menthon-Saint-Bernard and Talloires-Montmin. This territory has been spared from urbanisation and is a remarkable place to discover nature and wonderful panoramas. Its small surface and its rolling topography are perfect for an easy family trip.

Nice walk with sublime panoramas of the Bornes massif. La Tournette sits at 2353 meters on the lake like a sleeping giant, the Bauges massif on the other side rivals in beauty and makes walkers want to conquer new heights! (some ideas for routes also offered on ViAnnecy) This hike is almost accessible all year round, however we do not recommend it after heavy rains, use trekking poles, especially for the descent. This beautiful hike starts at the Acro’Aventures car park in Talloires. The first section, up to the Col des Frêtes via the forest, is fairly steep but once on the ridge the path levels out across the Aulp Riant alpine pastures and becomes relaxation itself! This itinerary is full of incredible viewpoints. If you make the climb in summer you can also enjoy a meal at the Froulaz chalet. (Take a picnic if you haven’t phoned ahead!) Our recommendations: * Period: spring, summer, autumn and winter, snow cover permitting * For good walkers * Hiking shoes * Walking pole(s) recommended for the steeper sections * Picnic, water and appropriate gear for the weather conditions.

A strenuous but rural walk through fir trees, meadows and streams, two zip lines and we're at the pass, with panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and herds to the sound of bells. The return to the starting point and car park is a slide from one zip line to the next. Keep your eyes peeled for the breathtaking scenery.

Inhabited by the same family since the 11th century and built between the 11th and 19th centuries, it still contains its rich variety of furniture and period decoration. Nestled on a rocky outcrop, it offers a sublime view of the lake and the landscape. In the 12th century, the castle had only three high square towers linked by sentry walks and a large courtyard where the villagers found refuge in times of trouble. During the Renaissance, the austere castle was transformed into a place of residence. Then, at the end of the 18th century, a facade was built, opening up a view of the lake. Then, at the end of the 19th century, under the impetus of the great-grandfather of the current owners, René de Menthon, the castle began its great metamorphosis towards that romantic subtlety which makes up its charm and even its mystery...

This green area in the shade presents you with the spectacle of an old 1911 locomotive on rails as a reminder of the place's history. The belvedere is located at 1150 m altitude and offers a bird's eye view of the Lake Annecy. A path up to the bar "La Pricaz" leads to a second belvedere with an unobstructed view of the Bauges, Les Dents de Lanfon and the Tournette peaks.

The river Eau Morte and the Lake enabled the development of Verthier, one of the most ancient villages of Doussard. This picturesque spot inspired painters such as Prosper Dunant and Firmin Salabert. A route allows you to go back to a time when the old bridge over l'Eau Morte was a toll, when the watermills were fueled by mill races using the force of water, when the boat was the means of transport to cross the lake.
