In 2016, Anaïs and Romain, a young couple with a passion for sports and ski and climbing instructors, took over Monté Médio. Accompanied by a team of mountain professionals, they aim to perpetuate the Monté Médio spirit thanks to a friendly welcome and top-notch supervision, while energizing their offerings with new, original experiences.
Sustainable tourism
Monté Médio has been committed to an eco-responsible approach for many years. Here are some of the things we do: We limit the number of guides and people per group to limit our impact on the natural environment. We encourage our customers to come to us by bike or bus rather than by car. We do not offer heli-skiing or snowmobile tours. Neoprene wetsuits are repaired and recycled. Use of a minibus for trips to the Montmin canyon and for children's and teenagers' courses. Use of public transport to get to the sites with the children and teenagers during the courses. Walking up the Angon canyon from the Grande Cascade. Systematic rubbish collection on every outing. Cleaning of premises and overalls using natural products. Flyers made in Annecy at Kalistene using recycled paper. We offer seminars and local authorities a range of services designed to raise environmental awareness. At the refreshment bar: Local products in short circuits and, if possible, organic and in bulk. Waste sorting since 2015, with sorting bins outside the chalet and composting facilities. We no longer sell industrial drinks in plastic bottles or aluminium cans, or industrial ice creams. Use of reusable cups (designed by Pauline et ses Crayons) with a deposit system. Second-hand or home-made furniture.
