It is a stage route, which can be completed in its entirety or in sections, with the possibility of covering one or more stages at one's own pace depending on the distance and the level of the participants. It is mainly suitable for families but also for sportsmen and women equipped with mountain bikes, mountain bikes or EV. For each section you will find practical information: What to visit? Where to sleep? Where to eat? Where to taste the local specialities? A lot of practical information for food, rescue and relaxation... A good place is reserved for social contact and activities that can be carried out in addition to the day's stage in order to discover as much as possible about the places visited. A loop of Little Finland from Faucogney, - The terraced gardens of Plombières-les-Bains, - The Géhard and Faymont Waterfalls in Val-D'Ajol, - The church Notre-Dame de Remiremont and its Romanesque crypt, - The Wood Museum in Saulxures-sur-Moselotte, - La Confiserie Bressaude in La Bresse, - The People's Theatre of Bussang, - The 1001 Roots Museum in Cornimont.

Access: From the centre of Remiremont, go past the hospital. At the traffic lights, turn right towards "Champ de Mars" and "Palais des Congrès". Parking: Park in the Champ de Mars car park. Distance: 20 km / Duration: 6 h / Difference in altitude: 450 m / Signs: blue disc.

Distance: 10 km / Duration: 3h15 / Difference in altitude: 400 m / Signs: blue disc and red cross. Leave from the Champ de Mars car park in the direction of the Calvary, passing a large Club Vosgien signpost. Start the walk by following the blue disc marking. At the calvary, it is possible to make a round trip for a nice view of the town and in particular the abbey church of Saint-Pierre. After the calvary, continue straight ahead to join the "Charles David walk" which runs alongside the hospital. At the end of the path, just before reaching the road, the markings on a tree indicate a path to the right that climbs into the forest. At a crossroads, the path turns left at an orienteering post and then becomes a path again on the right. Follow the markings still uphill. At an intersection with a carriage road, cross the road to join a path that goes to the left towards "Chalet des Gardes". Higher up, pass in front of the "roche du renard" (687 m alt). Just after the rock, continue on the path straight ahead. At the Roche Tocquaine (660 m alt), reach the top of the rock by the path which continues straight on and then turns right uphill. To continue the walk, take the path behind the bench. Pass in front of the "goutte du Founot" and at the end of the path, again on a track, turn right uphill. Once you arrive at the Chalet des Gardes car park (there are picnic tables), take the "chemin de crête". Change of markings: follow the red cross. Pass the barrier, then a few metres further on leave the path for a path on the right, the "sentier des poudingues", which is easy and flat for about 2km. At the end of the path, at the crossroads with the road, turn left downhill. Then, just before the road, turn right onto the marked path. Continue until you reach a large crossroads at the Remiremont botanical trail (caution: lack of signage). At this crossroads, go straight on the path then cross the road to join another path opposite which runs along the road to the right. Further on, at the crow's feet, at the level of an orienteering marker n° 40, take the path which goes down to the left. On this path, after passing a property on the left, at a crossroads, continue straight down. The path becomes a footpath and arrives on the road which leads back to the Calvary and the Champ de Mars on the right.

Departing from Remiremont station, this loop takes you first to St-Etienne-les-Remiremont. From there, take a winding road over the Moselle to the centre of Eloyes, where you can stop for a snack or a bite to eat. You then cross the Moselle via a footbridge. The rest of the route takes you through urban and suburban areas to reach St-Nabord. The route then climbs higher and you'll appreciate the electric assistance of your bike, if you have one. Step on the pedals and enjoy the beautiful views over the valley before heading back down to Fallières. You're almost there... just one more little effort to get back to your starting point.

The route begins at the football stadium car park, and you follow the D3 for a short stretch before joining a small tarmac road. You then enter this sublime forest. The paths in front of you are wide, allowing you to plant your sticks firmly in the ground. At the start of the route, you climb slightly uphill all the time, before descending to the Manou pond. You then join a beautiful track offering a wonderful view of the Massif. Be careful when crossing the departmental road. At the end of the route, you take a small road back to the starting point.

The “ Voie Verte“ in the Hautes-Vosges, surrounded by mountains and fresh hair, is a multi-activity track on the former railway lines (55km long) running along the Moselle Valley (33km to Bussang) and Moselotte Valley (24 km to Cornimont). With your family or friends, you will enjoy varied landscapes, beautiful spots and friendly users and will definitely want to come back! Open to everyone, with a free access, the “Voie Verte” is excellent for safe practising walking (stroll, hike, run…), cycling (bike, MTB, hybrid bike…), sliding (roller-skating, skate-boarding, roller-skiing, child’s scooter…) and cross-country skiing.

Mountain bike circuit n°1 Blue - 10 km - Difference in altitude 260 m Start coordinates: N 48 00'19.3" E 006 35'01.3" Good physical and technical level. Loop circuit in the Hérival forest starting from the Grange Puton. Climb a wide path and some single tracks to the Chalet des Gardes. Connection via the Crête path, then a fast and fun descent via the Conservateur path and some nice little paths.

MTB track n°4 Black - 32 km - Difference in altitude 1000 m Start coordinates: N 48 00'19.3" E 006 35'01.3" Very good physical and technical level. Loop circuit in the Hérival forest starting from the Grange Puton. Start on the Chemin du Corroy. Then turn left to take two small technical paths. Start the ascent towards La Beuille, between a track, a small road and finally a very steep path. After the summit, cross the Tête des Sarazins by beautiful forest paths, pass by the Étang de la Mollière, then by the road to the Cascade du Géhard, jewel of the Hérival massif. Connection by road and track to the Fontaine des Belges. Arrival at the summit at the Tête des Mozets (732 m) and its small paths lined with bilberry trees. Quick descent to the Croisette d'Hérival. Passage through the Chalet des Gardes. Connection by the Crête path, then a quick and fun descent by the Conservateur path and beautiful small paths.

MTB track n°3 Black - 37 km - Difference in altitude 1000 m Start coordinates: N 48°00'19.3" E 006°35'01.3" Very good physical and technical level. A tiring route with a succession of climbs, rewarded by beautiful downhill sections. A figure-of-eight circuit in the Hérival forest starting from the Grange Puton. Climb a wide path and some single tracks to the Chalet des Gardes. Take a wide path in the Bois de Sapenois, then a fast single track to the Chalet de chasse. From here the climb begins between tracks and small paths typical of the Vosges forest to reach the Pierre Nicole (723 m). Crossing the Tête des Champs Carré between tracks and small roads, you can admire the magnificent views of the Girmont Val d'Ajol. A quick descent to Peutet (641 m) then a series of small roads in the forest to reach Olichamp, then Pré Peureux. From here a succession of magnificent single tracks begin, which will delight those who love riding, arriving at the Fort du Parmont. Passing along the caponieres to admire this historic structure. Nice downhill run to reach the Grand Rhumont. Climb the Bambois to find a winding and very playful descent. Cross the road, return to the Chalet de Chasse then by a wide path and a few trails back to Remiremont.

Access : From the center of Remiremont, take direction Plombières-les-Bains. Coming from the N57, exit at the North exit, towards Vesoul and immediately, take opposite the old road of Plombières-les-Bains, in the direction of the Fort. At the first bend, before the houses, go straight on the forest road. Parking: Park on the edge of the big road leading to the Fort (before the gate). Distance: 2.3 km / Duration: 1 h / Difference in altitude: 50 m / Marked out: Red ring. 1) Cross the barrier and 100m higher, go left on the beaconing (red ring). 2) Follow the markings until you return to the starting point, taking note of all the information panels located on the route.

Built in 1828, in the heart of the enclosed garden to the south-east of the abbey palace, this fountain is now adorned with a cast-iron putto, enhanced with gold detailing. This little figure blows into a golden conch, from which a thin stream of water gushes out, adding a poetic touch to the site. The fountain was originally decorated with a bronze statue created by Denis Foyatier in 1898, depicting the last days of Herculaneum, as shown on old postcards. Unfortunately, this work was removed and melted down during the Vichy regime, marking a tragic period in its history. Today, this cast-iron putto perpetuates the elegance and history of this unique site, a symbol of the past and of local memory.

Built between 1045 and 1050, the Crypt of Saint-Pierre Church is one of the oldest Romanesque religious monuments in the Vosges and has been listed as a Historic Monument since 1983. It comprises three chapels: the 13th-century north chapel, dedicated to Saint-Antoine, with 15th-century frescoes depicting the Crucifixion and saints such as Laurent, Brice and Martin. Sarcophagi from the former Remiremont and Saint-Mont cemeteries are also preserved here. In 2002, 14th-century frescoes depicting the Paschal Lamb and Saint Christopher were discovered in the south chapel. Access to the other two chapels is free; the south chapel is open for guided tours organised by the Tourist Office.

Adjacent to Saint-Pierre church, the Palais Abbatial is located at the heart of the canonical quarter of the noble ladies of Remiremont. Rebuilt between 1752 and 1756 at the instigation of Abbess Anne-Charlotte de Lorraine and designed by architect Jean Nicolas Jeannesson, it reflects the classical style of the Dukes of Lorraine. The Palace has three distinctive facades: a fan-shaped one overlooking the Jardin des Olives, another on Place de l'Abbaye in a unique style evoking Napoleon's campaigns, and a third on Place Mesdames, revealing a paved courtyard and a former ice house. Burnt down in 1871 by the Prussians, it has since been restored. Worth noting: The guided tour offered by the Tourist Office allows you to admire the most remarkable rooms.

Before the Revolution, the square was home to a rectangular fountain and a Chanoinesse house, which were demolished during the renovation. Mayor Stanislas Bresson then set about restructuring the Place du Collège, now known as Place de Mesdames. In 1828, he had the present-day fountain built. Although the basin was completely rebuilt in 1993 according to the original plan, the cast-iron basin has been carefully preserved. It contributes to the historic character and timeless charm of this emblematic square.

The noble Lady Canons of Remiremont lived in magnificent canon houses, now listed as Historic Monuments. At the centre of the canonical quarter are the chapter house, reserved for the canonesses, and the Palais Abbatial, the residence of the abbess and dignitaries. The district still boasts 14 18th-century canon houses, recognisable by their classical, harmonious facades with pediments that once featured the coats of arms of noble families. Today, these houses are mainly privately owned, with the exception of the one that houses the Charles Friry Museum, where you can discover one of these sumptuous residences. The Chapitre Féminin de Remiremont was one of the most prestigious abbeys in France before the Revolution. It was a chapter of noble canonesses, whose members had to prove 16 quarters of nobility to be admitted. These canonesses, exempt from religious vows, could marry and return to secular life. The houses, lent by the Chapter, offered comfort according to the rank of the residents.

The Abbey Church of Saint-Pierre de Remiremont, built from the 11th century onwards, is an emblematic site in the town's history. It is the result of the superimposition of two churches, Romanesque and Gothic, which have been listed as historic monuments since 1983. The building, which was essentially rebuilt in the 13th century, contrasts the sober Gothic style of its nave with the richness of its marble choir. The crypt, which dates back to the 11th century, contains wall frescoes from the 14th and 15th centuries. Thanks to renovations carried out between 1988 and 2000, the church is well preserved, with its colours and shapes restored. Formerly the church of the Chapter of the Dames Chanoinesses, it became a parish church after the French Revolution. Its treasures include the statue of Notre-Dame du Trésor, a masterpiece combining Byzantine and Romanesque art, and a 15th-century statue of Saint Nicolas. The visit also includes the crypt, medieval frescoes and a monumental altarpiece housing relics. Guided tours are offered by the Tourist Office.

Originally located in front of no. 43 rue Charles de Gaulle, this fountain was moved in 1852 to its current location on the Place de la Libération, replacing an old round basin that had fallen into disrepair. Designed exclusively for decorative purposes, this fountain is distinguished by its main basin, carved from a single block of granite using the hammering technique. This method gives the basin a unique texture, combining history, art and elegance in an emblematic public space.

The Charles Friry Museum, housed in a former 18th-century canons' residence, offers a journey back in time with major works such as Le Vieillard à sa sacoche by Georges de La Tour and engravings by Rembrandt, Callot and Goya. The house is furnished in 19th century style and includes parkland with two listed fountains. In 2020, the museum was extended to include a reconstruction of Pierre Waidmann's studio, a room dedicated to Charles Friry, and an exhibition of the 18th-century Remiremont hospital pharmacy. The museum was awarded the ‘Maison des Illustres’ label in 2020.

The Musée de Beaux-Arts de Remiremont, established thanks to the bequest of Charles de Bruyères, houses rich and varied collections of paintings, sculptures and decorative arts. The museum explores the town's thousand-year-old history, with treasures such as a Carolingian agate intaglio that is unique in the world, Dutch and Italian paintings from the 17th and 18th centuries, and a large Art Nouveau collection featuring works by Emile Gallé. The museum also features antique earthenware, painted hangings from 1750, and reconstructions of Vosges interiors. Accessible to people with reduced mobility thanks to a lift, it offers a captivating introduction to local history and heritage.

Inaugurated in 1998, this fountain is the work of Mr Petitjean, a native of La Bresse. Carved from a single block of granite, it takes the form of a helix, symbolising a spring rising from the bowels of the earth. This creation combines the natural beauty of the material with the poetic idea of life emerging from the ground, offering a harmony between art, nature and symbolic reflection. A truly aesthetic and philosophical element in its environment.
