Built between 1045 and 1050, the Crypt of Saint-Pierre Church is one of the oldest Romanesque religious monuments in the Vosges and has been listed as a Historic Monument since 1983. It comprises three chapels: the 13th-century north chapel, dedicated to Saint-Antoine, with 15th-century frescoes depicting the Crucifixion and saints such as Laurent, Brice and Martin. Sarcophagi from the former Remiremont and Saint-Mont cemeteries are also preserved here.
In 2002, 14th-century frescoes depicting the Paschal Lamb and Saint Christopher were discovered in the south chapel. Access to the other two chapels is free; the south chapel is open for guided tours organised by the Tourist Office.
