A 106 kilometer road itinerary designed to help you discover the Garonne river valley from village to village. The easy slopes involved allow family outings or enjoying doing it with friends. This cycling itinerary allows you to go from Cierp-Gaud, in the foothills of the Pyrenees mountains, to Carbonne, by following the Garonne River. It's in the Comminges, former Gascony province where the Garonne grows bigger. From being simply a fast stream in the Pyrenees to becoming a branch river and finally a major waterway... Several access points are possible all along this itinerary. Don't miss stopping along the way to see picturesque villages such as Saint-Bertrand-de-Comminges, Saint-Gaudens or even Saint-Martory.

Here, more than anywhere else, the land undulates as if lifted by a swell triggered by the Autan wind. On this walk, just outside Toulouse, enjoy panoramic views of the Hers valley and the Montagne Noire from the hills of the Lauragais region of Toulouse. Along the way you'll discover : In Montgiscard: the 20th-century postcard-style Grand'Rue, Saint-André church (1541) In Donneville: Saint-Pierre church (1484) with its bell tower and wall, the 19th-century Chapillonie fountain In Deyme: the church of Sainte-Marie Madeleine (12th and 16th centuries), the shaded Alex Ouillac square with its plane trees, arbour and picnic tables. In Montbrun-Lauragais: the 1680 mill, the 19th-century church of Saint-Michel and several viewpoints. Beware of several road crossings, including the D24 (twice) and slippery terrain in wet weather.

This hike between ridges and valleys offers fine views over the Toulouse plain and the Lauragais farmlands, which change colour with the seasons. Discover the village of Baziège and its fertile hills shaped by the Autan wind. A stopover on the Roman road from Narbonne to Toulouse, Baziège was an important commercial centre in the Middle Ages. Its salt and wheat markets (in the 11th and 18th centuries) and then its pastel markets in the Renaissance contributed to its fortunes.

From the Lauragais plain and the banks of the Canal du Midi, escape to the hillsides of south-east Toulouse to discover the Voie d'Arles-GR653. Along the way, you'll come across panoramic views of the Pyrenees, between ridges and valleys, and local producers in the surrounding area. Follow the red and white GR653 markings all the way along. Places of interest along the way: - Village of Baziège: former Laurag cooperative of wheat growers, Saint-Etienne church (14th century) and milestone (4th century), grain market, former Aéropostale lighthouse, etc. - Canal du Midi, Montgiscard lock and wash-house - Village of Montgiscard and its Grand'Rue with its 20th-century postcard appearance - Village of Montbrun-Lauragais, hamlet of Montbrun-le-Vieux, working mill and the bakery L'Ami du Pain d'Autan, which processes the flour produced at the mill - The village of Corronsac and its heritage interpretation trail (planned for early 2026), the church of the Nativity of the Virgin with its bell tower reminiscent of that of the Basilica of Saint-Sernin in Toulouse. - Village of Rebigue: orientation table and panoramic view of the Pyrenees mountain range - Village of Pechbusque, 19th-century church of Saint-Jacques (IMH listed) and its Pietà, which can be seen inside - Garden of scents and colours and botanical trail in the hills above Ramonville Saint-Agne

Perched on its mound, Montaut offers you a magnificent view of the immense alluvial plains of the Ariège and its 15th century church. On your descent, you will surely appreciate the extraordinary view of the majestic Pyrenean chain.

Start: municipal stadium car park, route de Saiguède, D53B Walk up the path beside the tennis court, then turn left and follow the path (GR86) towards the lake (heading west). Leave the dyke on your left and walk along the lake for about 1km. At the end of the lake, go straight on for about 200m, leave the GR86 and take the path on the left that leads down to the ruisseau de Saint Thomas (south), which you can ford or cross on a new footbridge. When you reach the road, turn left and walk for about 500m, then at the bend in the road at the bottom of a small rise, take the path on the left that overlooks the lake as far as the dyke. Leave the dam on your left and continue along the tarmac track to the D53b road. Turn right and follow the GR86 as far as the village, signposted "le Circuit du lac du Parayré". After 300m, turn left onto "le chemin du Barrat" for 500m. Follow the red and white GR86 signs. When you reach the village, follow the lane to the junction with the D632, admire the well and take the main road to the right: view of the market hall and the church of Ste Foy, cross the D632, pass the market hall, the pond and reach the water tower to take the circuit of the Lac de Parayre.

For experienced mountain bikers, this tour will take you through the Terrefort region where you will ride through valleys and hillsides. Whatever the season, it will offer you breathtaking landscapes and views.

A trail which follows the Canal du Midi. Possibility to do this on roller-skates or on foot. Discover this majestic canal built by Pierre-Paul Riquet with its centuries-old plane trees. The Canal du Midi, built starting in 1666, a total of 240 km long with its main purpose being to transport merchandise, notably grain grown in the Lauragais area until 1970. The Canal du Midi is classified as part of UNESCO’s World Heritage sites since December 5th 1996. The green trail (3metres wide) was established along the former tow path allows vacationers to peacefully discover the area's rich heritage at their own pace. The trail may be followed from Toulouse to Port Lauragais or the other way around with access possible at various points all along the way (for example at the canal-locks).
