This walk enables you to cross Eastern Sologne, a region where you can often encounter wild animals. Aubigny-sur-Nère, Small City of Character and "Ville Fleurie" (flowers distinction in a city), is a Scottish city in France. For a weekend, kilts bagpipes and pipe bands invade the City of the Stuarts to celebrate the Auld Alliance.

This is a lovely walk through the Sologne woods where you can often encounter game and wild animals. Sainte-Montaine is the smallest village in the Sauldre and Sologne territory. Very little is known about that Saint after whom the village was named. According to a legend, some mirraculous water springs at the Belle Fontaine (the Fine Fountain) which is the last stop of a pastoral pilgrimage on Whit Mondays amidst a lovely setting.

How about a little trip to the edge of the Beauce region... 1 - From the square, cross the street opposite the town hall and turn left onto the street that becomes a path. Leave the path and take the next right, then turn left at the T-junction to reach the entrance to Obsonville, Chemin de Ronde. 2 - Turn left, then right twice to arrive in front of the Church of St. Vincent de Paris, in the commune of Obsonville. Go around it on the left and walk along Place du Centre, leaving the pond on your left and continuing straight ahead. Turn right and continue straight ahead, walking along the cemetery and crossing the path. 3 - Pass a crossroads and turn right towards Ferme Malvoisine, then turn left to reach the D 403. Cross (carefully) to take the path slightly to the right, turn right at the crossroads, then left and right to enter the path that zigzags along the edge of a wood. 4 - At the T-junction, turn right towards the hamlet of Jarville, then left and right to return to the D403 (carefully). Cross the road and continue straight ahead on the path that leads back to the entrance to Ichy. Take Rue des Vignes, pass the cemetery, and in the curve, turn left onto Rue Grande, which passes in front of St. Vincent Church. At the intersection, turn right to return to the square. This route is marked in yellow by Codérando.

It seems that on this course, the fox is inevitable. There are beliefs ... Anyway, the circuit takes you through the hamlets of Château-Landon on either side of the "Fusain" valley. It ends with the discovery of the exceptional site of the city then, along its ramparts, overlooking the meander of the "Fusain", you will appreciate the spectacle of the viewpoints over the valley. 1 - Back to the Tourist Office, turn right, rue Hetzel (D207). Turn right, rue du Capitaine Antoine Chambon. Make a right-left to follow the rue des Chèvres. 2 - Turn left, rue de St Séverin, then right into the path (GR 13). Straight on, it comes out on rue du Pont Franc. Take it on the left. Enter the hamlet of the same name, pass the old Abbey and Leprosery on the left and the Pontfrault bridge on the right. 3 - Climb the grassy path to the left which enters the woods. At the top, turn right at the edge of the wood for 1500m. 4 - Before Mocpoix down the path to the right in the undergrowth. Go along the Canal du Loing to the right. At the Néronville lock (canal bridge over the Fusain) continue along the towpath for 200m then fork to the right on the path. Continue by the road to the left. When entering Néronville, turn right onto the path on the edge of the woods. Then on the left the path of Aulnes. 5 - Cut the D43 to go up the Chemin de Toury opposite. It climbs in the thalweg to the old Roman road "Chemin de César" and the A77 trench. Take the right twice. The path becomes a road. 6 - Cross Heurtebise and descend through the undergrowth, turn left onto the dirt track. At Fussellette turn right. The path runs alongside the Touvent farm, crosses the D 52 then turns right. Then fork into the path on the right. 7 - At the crossroads, take the road opposite, the next one on the left and the D7 on the right. Pass the two bridges (former post office) and turn right onto Chemin de la Haie de Banse for 500 m. Turn left, rue de la Tabarderie, and right, rue du Gal De Gaulle, to return to the city center. Continue straight ahead, rue Jean Galland (Notre Dame church and Hôtel-Dieu), until you reach the Place du Marché and the Tourist Office. This route is marked in magenta by the Codérando.

The Fusain, a tributary of the Loing, is located so well at the foot of Château-Landon that it splits into several branches to occupy the valley floor. Valley bottom that this circuit allows to discover, level then in height. With your back to the Tourist Office, go left then turn left into rue de la Ville Forte. Go down the stairs to the right by the South Poterne. It crosses the rue du Bas Larry, and runs down to the bridge over the charcoal. Cross it and turn right, path of the lovers, along the river. After the communal washhouse, turn left twice and walk along the other arm of the Fusain. Cross the bridge, continue on the other side. Cut the road, take the path opposite and continue along the river. Take the bridge on the left, follow for 1200m, rue des Martins on the right followed by rue de Pont Franc. Passed Pont Franc, turn right into the path, cross the 2 arms of the Fusain and, straight ahead, join the "Moulin de Bigonnneau". Go along the D43 on the left then turn into the road on the right. Go up the path on the left (GR 13) to arrive at the hamlet of Fusselette. Turn right, walk alongside the Touvent farm, cross the D 52 and follow the path that turns right. Turn right into the path then into the road and left into the grassy path (viewpoint on the ramparts). At the Tabarderie, follow the road to the left, turn right twice to cross 2 arms of the Fusain. Continue crossing the park towards the city, to the right of the 3rd arm of the Fusain. Cross the Caesar bridge and follow the Fusain to the right. Climb the stairs, cross the rue du Bas Larry to enter the lane of the Hospice Turn right rue Jean Galland and arrive at the Place du Marché and the Tourist Office. This route is marked in green by the Codérando.

Richard Piriou established his own poultry farm in 2014, on the family farm in Guillerval in the south of Essonne. Son of farmers, this poultry farmer raises bare-necked chickens, farm guineafowls, as well as capons for the end of year celebrations. All are raised in a natural outdoor setting and wander through a grassy path of several dozen hectares. The farmer also cultivates cereals on part of his farm according to a sustainable agriculture. Richard's poultry are fed with wheat and corn from the farm but also with oilseeds and protein crops. Richard Priou sells his products on the markets of Etampes or Auvers-Saint-Georges (every other Saturday morning) and then on the markets of Guillerval or Saint-Cyr-la-Rivière (every other Saturday afternoon). It is also possible to place an order directly with the breeder and collect the poultry from the farm.

The covered market replaces the one that disappeared in the fire of 1282 at the end of the 15th century. It was modified in the 17th century to stabilize it. A span was removed to build a hard limestone gable. The weekly market is always there. As well as the traditional fat poultry fair (it has existed for more than 90 years) which takes place on the second Saturday of December each year.

Saint-Martin Church is located in the heart of the village of Egreville. It is built on the foundations and some walls of an earlier chapel that disappeared in a large fire in the 13th century. It was damaged during the hundred-year war and rebuilt in the 15th century. The belfry that served as a watchtower is attached to the church in the sixteenth century and becomes its main entrance. The arrow is added in the seventeenth.

A legend says that one day a young maid came back from the fountain and did not see the brambles at her feet, stumbled and broke her pitcher. Yet it was necessary to return to the house where reigned a bad boss. Angry, this one reproached the servant for her clumsiness and, to mock her, sent her back to fetch water with a wicker basket. The girl obeyed, her tears fell into the fountain... But in all confidence, imploring the Saint, she plunged into water her wicker basket, and MIRACLE ! The basket retained water like the most waterproof bucket and on the path, the brambles were gone forever... You won't find a single one today. So the water from the fountain is said to be miraculous ! Montaine has since become the patron saint of Sologne.

Sainte-Montaine, healer of all ailments and abbess in the region, gave her name to the village and its church. The legend speaks of a beautiful miraculous fountain on the edge of the village which would make all child-seeking couples fertile. The church is closed to the public.

An orphan shepherdess who became a seamstress before reaching literary glory (Marie-Claire, Prix ​​Fémina 1910): Marguerite Audoux (1863-1937) had an astonishing destiny, that her museum traces over 240 square meters, with a completely new scenography.

Béraud and Robert Stuart, formerly Lords of Aubigny, contemporaries of Leonardo da Vinci, built the Aubigny castle in the XVIth century. Visit without delay the Interpretation Center of the Auld Alliance which is located in the enclosure of the castle to learn more about this incredible story that links Aubigny-sur-Nère to Scotland !

One of the most beautiful and one of the oldest house of Aubigny-sur-Nère, built in 1519 after a big fire (1512). Nowedays, it welcomes the art gallery François 1er where you will appreciate multiple exhibitions.

This church is attested from the IXth century, it is dedicated to Saint-Martin (bishop of Tours in the IVth century). During the Hundred Years War, the church was burnt down by the English twice (in 1356 then in 1412). The side chapels and the choir were built by Robert Stuart, following the fire of 1512. A keystone bears his coat of arms and could be dated to the years 1517-1527.

The Maison Victorine offers a journey through time to discover Aubigny. Annuals exhibitions present souvenirs and objects collected by the population. Open from April to September.

And if we took a little walk to the borders of Beauce ..... 80 km south of Paris, this small village living on agriculture has been mentioned from the 9th century in registers. Moreover, the origin of the name of the place can be traced to a 9th century Count of Gâtinais, Ipdiacus, or to the word isca, “place where walnut trees are grown”. The Saint-Vincent church, dedicated to the Patron des Vignerons, is typical of this region of Gâtinais. However, it has a square bell tower located to the right of the choir, which is rare. Despite everything, it has a saddleback roof, characteristic of the Gâtinais. However, inside, the architectural layout lets in a lot of light, which sets it apart from other churches in the region. In addition, walks are possible around and in the village. So you will probably notice the dovecote-porch visible from Obsonville Street. Indeed, this portal is that of an old stately home. He is said to have welcomed Charles IX for lunch in 1562, while traveling throughout the kingdom with his mother Catherine de Medici. The porch is now filled in and plastered with lime.

Dating from the middle of the 12th century, this vestige of an imposing Cluniac abbey is one of the most beautiful monuments of the city. Very damaged, it was reduced in the 16th century to a priory. It belonged for a long time to the abbey of Ferrieres-en-Gatinais. It was already very dilapidated at the time of the Revolution in 1789 . Beyond an agricultural building leaning against the tower, there still remains at 40 meters, the pediment of the old church with its hree windows in pointed arch. In 1990, the Tour Saint-Andre was classified as a Historic Monument. VERY IMPORTANT: the tower being on a private domain, thank you for not entering the farm. From the open gate, the Saint-Andre tower is visible.
