AN ARTISTIC ROUTE BETWEEN SOUSTONS CITY AND SOUSTONS BEACH The concretization of a project a little bit crazy! It is an incredible project which sees the day along the 8 kilometers of the soft way which connect the lake of Soustons to the ocean beach! SCULPTURES IMAGINED BY CHILDREN AND MADE BY STUDENTS All started from the communal will to develop an educational, environmental and cultural project of territory, concretized thanks to the imagination of the teacher and the pupils of CM2 of the school of Isle Verte and to the meeting with an eco-interpreter with whom they worked on the artistic interpretation of the fauna and the flora met on these 8 kilometers of green way.

Thematic trail on the fauna and flora in the heart of the Landes forest

An abandoned and dilapidated goshawk, which the knowledgeable handymen of the City Council have rehabilitated. This one culminates on a hillock, the fifth explanatory site described during the walk. Signs briefly tell the life of the Landes forest. The one of the ditches evokes swamps, the road to Compostela, shepherds, sanitation... The cork oaks are an excuse to learn about their economic role in Vieux-Boucau. Further on, the walker learns about the gluttony of the maritime pine swallowing its 45 tons per day for a wooded hectare. The fourth stop, in a clearing, reminds us of the damage caused by Klaus. The circuit climbs up to the pigeon house and the explanations of this traditional hunting. A gentle descent to the gemmage station, where several pots of resin explain the techniques used to harvest the precious @text JM Flipo

Walk in the footsteps of the pilgrims of Santiago de Compostela by taking the "Bayonnais" path

On this path in the forest, you will discover a "douys" water point (small hole) surrounded by large pines and oaks where the shepherds used to make their sheep drink, then a "palombière" on the "ground" before joining the path of the bayonnais.

On the South Landes area coast, the Azu’rivage campsite at AZUR, with an area of 6.5 hectares for 275 pitches, is located on the edge of the SOUSTONS lake, 10km from the ocean beaches. This vast plan of water nests in the heart of the city of Soustons. In the top of the peaceful places, ideal for who wishes to stroll at the edge of the water, to walk in bicycle, to make a part of fishing or to devote itself to the sail, to the Stand-up or to the canoe-kayak. There are no motorized vehicles to guarantee the peace and quiet of the onlookers, squirrels, and pikes.

The old church, Romanesque like all the primitive ones in the area, was a little short but wide, with three naves and turned to the east. The present building was built between 1863 and 1867, on the site of the old one, by the diocesan architects Hippolyte Durand and Hippolyte Guichenné and the contractor Dougier. Sculpture executed by the Bayonne sculptor Auguste Fraysse. Unlike the old one, it is turned to the west.

A park dedicated to walking, planted with alders (still called vergnes), bald cypresses and various species of trees. The ideal place to admire the great lake of Soustons, relax with the family and enjoy the sunset.

We welcome you in our straw hut surrounded by our goats, ducks and chickens that will accompany you during your stay Our straw hut is located in a corner of paradise where nature, the ocean and the famous Landes festivals mingle. It is composed of two spaces (night and day, air-conditioned) separated by a footbridge. A sunny terrace sheltered from the trees, a plancha for the Landes kitchen and a relaxation area with a hammock and deckchairs. Entirely made of wood, we made it in our image, simple and warm. Close to the animals, to the delight of young and old. An access will allow you to approach them and feed them by hand. La Paillote is located near the cycle track and 800 m from the French Riviera lake which is a real jewel of nature (water sports, mini-golf, bike rental).
