Leave the D62D in the direction of Montclar-de-Comminges and continue straight on. 4. Turn right onto chemin de Pincarrail 5. Turn left onto the D83 6. Turn right onto the D62D towards Plagne 7. Turn right onto the D49 and pass the village of Plagne 8. At the Ariège border, cross the bridge and continue straight ahead on the D435 to the Cérizols cemetery. 9. At the cemetery, turn left onto the D135 towards Fabas. 10. At Tané, turn left at the hairpin bend and join the D3 towards Le Plan. 11. At the border with the Ariège, turn right onto the D7G as far as the village of Le Plan. 12. Go through the village and at the exit, cross the bridge to the left and turn left 70m after the bridge. 13. At the end of the Chemin du Comte, turn right onto the D7 as far as the village of Couladère. 14. At the roundabout, take the second exit on the left and then, 200 m further on, turn left again onto the D49. 15. At the end of the road, turn right onto the D49D, then follow signs for Mauran by turning left onto the D62. 16. Turn slightly left towards the centre of the village of Mauran.

Loop starting from the Chemin de Carraou. Starting from the stone bridge over the River Lens, this loop will take you through the heritage and countryside of the village of Cassagne and the surrounding area, as far as the village of Belbèze-en-Comminges.

A 106 kilometer road itinerary designed to help you discover the Garonne river valley from village to village. The easy slopes involved allow family outings or enjoying doing it with friends. This cycling itinerary allows you to go from Cierp-Gaud, in the foothills of the Pyrenees mountains, to Carbonne, by following the Garonne River. It's in the Comminges, former Gascony province where the Garonne grows bigger. From being simply a fast stream in the Pyrenees to becoming a branch river and finally a major waterway... Several access points are possible all along this itinerary. Don't miss stopping along the way to see picturesque villages such as Saint-Bertrand-de-Comminges, Saint-Gaudens or even Saint-Martory.

This walk will take you through the pretty little hamlets of Montardit and you'll discover the unusual little chapel of Notre Dame de la Goutte. This curious little chapel, worthy of a surrealist sculptor, was built in 1968 by Abbé Jean-Marie Piquemal and has become a place of pilgrimage during the liturgical feast of Notre-Dame des Sept Douleurs on 15 September. The place exudes a kind of peacefulness and quiet strength.

The Musée de l'Aurignacien is a prehistory museum that invites aficionados to archaeological and cultural discoveries. The Aurignacians were the first anatomically modern humans who lived in Europe approximately 36,000 years ago. Archaeological traces of the lives of these ancient peoples are taken from the digs of the site of Aurignac and other emblematic prehistoric sites to provide the central theme of the museographic presentation. Films, illustrations, temporary exhibitions and activities for all ages offer a great number of approaches to understanding prehistory. Ideally accessible, designed to appeal to all ages and audiences, this museum is also a place where debates and discussions are held, probing into the great questions of Man’s origins and addressing the latest scientific discoveries. Guided tours are available for individuals, groups, school groups and even toddlers (1 to 3 years of age).

A prehistoric shelter occupied during the Aurignacian period (35,000 years ago), this archaeological site is accessible all year round from the museum along a short 1.5km shaded path dotted with informative stops. Discovered by chance in 1852 in Aurignac's town, this cave was excavated in 1860 by the famous palaeontologist Edouard Lartet. Remains of animals, tools and hunting weapons from the begining of the upper Palaeolithic era were discevered on site. Since 1913, this place is the eponymous Aurignacien's place.

Martres-Tolosane, city of earthenware Never interrupted since the 18th century, the earthenware makers use an ancient firing technique, the "Grand Feu" (firing the piece at a temperature of between 900 and 1000°C). The designs are still traced and painted by hand. The round shape of the village of Martres-Tolosane seems to echo the gentle curves of the surrounding hills and terraces. On the edge of the Pyrenean foothills, only sixty or so kilometres separate the Cité Artiste - Cité Faïencière from the pink city, the fiery Toulouse. Here, the gentle curves of the Garonne undulate, the lively torrent freed from the grip of the mountains and transformed into a beautiful river. Martres-Tolosane is a mysterious kingdom, miraculously preserved. This unique circular bastide is home to a rich heritage: the luxurious Gallo-Roman villa of Chiragan, which has revealed numerous remains, a keep, a church built over an early Christian necropolis (with numerous sarcophagi) and, above all, an earthenware heritage that is unique in France. Today, this continuity is reflected in the presence of several workshops, heirs to this heritage. There's an art to our land!

Exhibits, collections and the history of earthenware, a presentation of the Gallo-Roman villa at Chiragan, the battle of Saint-Vidian, and a room dedicated to the famous annual Salon des Arts et du Feu. Musée de la faïence et du patrimoine martrais. The former town hall and its adjoining prison stood in place of the small garden in front of the tourist office. In 1954, you could still see the façade of the prison, which was used mainly after the Revolution. Three old houses followed, including that of a grocer and a wheelwright. This block of buildings, renovated in 2006, is now home to the Martrais Heritage Interpretation Centre or Musée de la faïence. Here you can discover the areas dedicated to the earthenware makers and other craftsmen and artists of Martres-Tolosane, the history of the Gallo-Roman villa of Chiragan and the legend of Saint-Vidian. The designs of Martres earthenware have changed a great deal since 1739, but the makers still honour the traditional motifs, in particular the Martres rose and the ibis, the bird that symbolises the village. The Musée de la Faïencerie emerges like an enchanted treasure trove where the art and history of ceramics come to life. Nestled in this captivating space, visitors are transported on a journey through the ages as they explore the techniques and creations that have marked the history of earthenware. The carefully curated exhibitions showcase a range of pieces, from the earliest stages of craftsmanship to the most contemporary artistic achievements. Each object on display, whether precious crockery, decorative creations or functional works of art, reveals the evolution of the craft. In front of the building, you can admire the resin sculpture "Woman and child moulding pottery" by Toulouse artist Jean-Louis TOUTAIN (1948-2008). You can discover the village by watching a short 5-minute film presenting the village and its history. Located in the town's historic centre, the exhibition is housed in a 380m2 building that brings together three old houses that have been completely remodelled. It showcases the work of the four Martres earthenware manufacturers and their European partners (Modra and Naval), as well as a collection of old and contemporary earthenware and the work of Martres earthenware manufacturers with various guests of honour at the Salon des Arts et du Feu. A small room is also used for temporary exhibitions throughout the year.

The town of Martres-Tolosane, a land of art and history, has restored the former presbytery and transformed it into an exhibition hall dedicated to Métiers d'Art and Contemporary Art. This place, steeped in spirituality, hosts a variety of exhibitions that change with the seasons. Since the beginning of the parish registers (in 1670), we know all the priests of Martres-Tolosane who have lived in the presbytery. In a state of disrepair, especially after the Revolution, the commune had to sell the dovecote and stable, located at the end of the magnificent garden, in order to carry out the most urgent repairs. After the Second World War, successive mayors provided some comfort for the priests. In 2014, the town council decided to make the most of this unoccupied building and give it a new lease of life, while preserving its original character. The discovery of half-timbering on an entire façade (under the plaster) has made the Grand Presbytère the jewel of the village. The architects have succeeded in highlighting all these testimonies to the past. The interior has been transformed into an exhibition space, with a glass front overlooking the village square, the church and the Heritage Interpretation Centre. The beautiful old garden has been brought back to life with harmonious planting. The faithfully restored inner courtyard invites visitors to take a step back into the village's past. Well integrated into this medieval landscape, the little rue Louise THÈBE is in harmony with the whole of this fine achievement. The Grand Presbytère opened its doors on 23 May 2015. Its large exhibition rooms are designed to host events throughout the year and promote arts and crafts and contemporary art.

Opened a year and a half ago on the village square in Roquefort-sur-Garonne, it's a one-stop shop with a bar/coffee corner where you can enjoy craft beers and wine, as well as coffee and tea from local producers. You'll also find a delicatessen corner stocked with local and south-western products, as well as the press (Dépêche and Gazette du Comminges), a bread depot and, more recently, the Française des Jeux. I also offer 'Anti-Gaspi' baskets. Charcuterie and cheese platters are available for evenings organised in the bar. Other boards can also be made depending on what's available and what's in season.
