A pleasant walk accessible to all, from the centre of the village to the superb Lac de Montriond. A woodland trail where you can enjoy the natural coolness of summer. Take the time to marvel and recharge your batteries in this green paradise!

A steep road along the beautiful Lac de Montriond. It's hard not to stop, but be sure to do so on the way down. Watch out for the goats in the village of Les Lindarets! Gradient: 6%. This legendary col has featured in the Tour de France seven times. Quite shady at first and consisting of steeper ramps between long false flats, the gradient kicks up to 10% after Montriond. Be careful when going through Les Lindarets, as it is not unusual to find herds of goats nonchalantly occupying the road! The final section of the climb is more regular, zigzagging up through the forest to the Col de Joux verte.

An easy hike from the heights of Montriond along a forest trail to the hamlet of Guéritolles, from where you can enjoy superb panoramic views over the villages of Montriond, Morzine and Essert-Romand. Along the way, you'll see traditional granaries and alpine chalets, and enjoy magnificent views of the surrounding villages and peaks.

A path to stroll along the Dranse. From the Super Morzine Gondola, take the lift down to the swimming Pool, and start the Dereches river walk. All along the river you will find wooden exercise obsticals, a kids play area, horse stables and tree climbing. A walk not to miss!

Everyone who’s tackled this short climb is of the same opinion: it’s a tough one! After passing the chalets at Côte-d'Arbroz village, you’ll continue pedalling in perfect peace, taking in open and wooded sections. Gradient: 8.5%

This wide and famous road leading up to the resort of Avoriaz provides endless opportunities to enjoy the mountain views. Gradient: 6% An iconic route climbed officially for the first time during the 1975 Tour de France. The best time - 33 minutes - still belongs to Bernard Hinault.

This is less difficult than the southern route, but it’s very steep from the off! Highlights include the fine finish area, next to a little lake once you’ve passed the Ranfolly col. Gradient: 6.5%

The Col de La Ramaz is one of the most beautiful passes in Haute-Savoie! You can see Mont Blanc right from the bottom of the climb, and at the summit, the panorama of the entire massif is exceptional. Highlighted by Richard Virenque's fantastic breakaway in the 2003 Tour de France (in which he took the yellow jersey and a stage win in Morzine!), this pass remains a classic to add to your race list.

An interesting circuit to discover the Vallée Verte and its impeccable cycling roads! Beautiful scenery and sporting interest are the order of the day, to satisfy cyclosportifs and cyclotourists alike! Beware of the sometimes steep (Col du Feu) or long (Col de Cou) gradients. Hiking. Round trip from Morzine From the Plateau de Nyon (accessed by car via the Route de Joux-Plane), take the path up through the alpine pastures to the Pointe de Nyon (start of the path opposite the Pré Favre chairlift terminus, follow the sign to Lac de Nyon-Guérin/Lac de Joux-Plane/Pointe de Nyon). At the "Creux du Laouet: 1480m" sign, continue in the direction of Lac de Nyon-Guérin. You will soon reach the chalets of Nyon Derrière (1530m) and Nyon du Creux (1620m). Lac de Nyon-Guérin can be seen just behind these chalets (artificial lake for the snow cannons of the Morzine ski area). Return by the same route. You can also take the Pointe de Nyon chairlift to enjoy an exceptional 360° panorama. From the top of the Pointe de Nyon, a new, entirely downhill path leads to Lac de Nyon-Guérin. This variant offers breathtaking views over Morzine and the Vallée d'Aulps.

In winter, you can see the sheep in the stable next to the workshop and in summer you can watch them through the window! The Avoriaz Bike Park is a must for mountain bikers. Accessible to experts and beginners alike, it offers a magnificent playground. From Avoriaz, join our trails with its 4 linked sectors: Seraussaix, Lindarets, Proclou and Super Morzine. Located in the heart of the Portes du Soleil, the largest mountain bike area in Europe, the possibilities of itineraries from the Avoriaz Bike Park are immense. 18 trails through the mountain pastures and forests, designed for all levels and maintained by a team of passionate shapers. Riders will find here a fun and varied terrain to express themselves. The area is equipped with repair arms and tools, karchers, water points, barbecues and self-service picnic areas.

Anouk and Nathalie welcome you in their unique place, half poterie and half sheep farm ! At the workshop, Anouk and Nathalie have created a wide choice of useful and decorative pieces "made in Les Gets". This stunning lake - known also as the emerald green lake - sits quietly at the foot of immense cliffs and is a favourite with children and adults thanks to the idyllic view and the feeling of calm it evokes. Lake Montriond is a huge outdoor playground with something for everyone. It includes a swimming area that’s suitable for very young swimmers (lifeguards in July and August), while other visitors can try pony riding, canoeing, paddle. Older children and adults also enjoy walking around the lake to take in the intoxicating beauty of it all... The lake is also a jewel of a find for anglers, with its healthy stock of fario trout and rainbow trout, char and tiddlers! A fishing licence is required.

A slate-quarry worker welcomes you into his workshop to present the history of Morzine's 200-years old slate industry and demonstrates his modern work-techniques. One of the last slate quarries in France, with the Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant (Living Heritage Company) label, we perpetuate this ancestral activity while innovating in extraction and working methods, and offering traditional and fashionable products for roofing, interior and exterior fittings.

The Roc de Tavaneuse overlooks the eponymous lake and is part of the magnificent landscape of the Abondance valley. It can be seen from the heart of the village of Abondance, which it makes glow on sunny days. Located at 2156m, the Roc de Tavaneuse is accessible from the lake of Tavaneuse on the Abondance side, the chalets of Lens on the Vallée d'Aulps side and from the Savolaire passage. Enjoy a wonderful view of Mont Blanc from the summit.

At the foot of the Roc d'Enfer mountains, this hollow coomb is a huge Alpine pasture, surrounded by stunning, steep cliffs. The Graydon chapel and surrounding chalets offer a genuine and peaceful glimpse of a mountain way of life. Located at 1340m and rising to 2243m, the Graydon meadows are easily accessible by car in summer from Essert-Romand. Graydon is the starting point for many walks including the Roc d'Enfer tour, a delightful route that winds through Alpine meadows, offering a glimpse of marmottes and deer. This circuit has superb panoramas of the Aravis mountains, the Roc d'Enfer and the Mt Blanc range. Visitors who wish to learn more about the chapel are invited to go in. It dates from the 19th century but was recently restored, providing a place to sit quietly and recharge your batteries. It hosts several services throughout the warmer months.

At the heart of the alpine Graydon pasture, under the hardened eye of the majestic roc d’enfer, you find the little Graydon chapel. It was built in 1859 and then entirely renovated in 2009 The Graydon chapel constructed in 1859, allowed for the parishes of ST Jean d’Aulps and that of Essert Romand, separated a few years earlier to keep a certain link between them. It was in 1902 that the Swiss architect, Goss, constructed the entrance porche where two Capitals where added that came from the Aulps Abbey. The chapel in consecrated to the immaculate conception is today a place of celebrations and all through the summer season the parish celebrates a mass every Wednesday You can get there from Essert Romand or from the little hamlet called Valette at St Jean d’Aulps

However, if you only reserve one tent, the second tent may be occupied by another group at the same time as you. Equipment available for each tent: 5 inflatable mattresses or 5 single camp beds with disposable protective covers, 1 battery-operated camping lamp, 1 outdoor metal storage trunk, 1 20L water container.

Located at 1805 m altitude in Abondance, at the foot of the cliffs of the small Piron point, between scree slopes and alpine meadows, the Tavaneuse lake is one of the most beautiful lakes in the Chablais. The access is sporty but the clarity of its waters is worth the diversions! The ascent to the lake, of average difficulty, is done from the Prétairié car park or from the Plagnes lake via the Ardens chalets. The more athletic can reach the Roc de Tavaneuse (2156 m). Dry fly fishing is also practiced here at daybreak. Several hiking trails invite you to discover this mountain lake.

The majestic Ardent waterfall high above Montriond village is half-way between Lake Montriond and Les Lindarets. It's emblematic of the valley, with its spectacular setting that captures the magic and splendour of the area.

The refuge is nestled in a hamlet at the foot of Roc d'Enfer, on a flat spot at the bottom of a long, quiet, wooded valley above the Morzine valley, and faces an alpine chalet. In the heart of the authentic Abondance valley, join in one hour's walk a beautiful refuge, located at 1500 m altitude at the foot of Mount Grange. It proposes you the accomodation and small restauration. And because a refuge is, first and foremost, a stage on the road of the walker, you only have to follow the path to arrive at the lake of Tavaneuse, at the foot of the mount Grange (2432m) or even to Prétairié . Each building is equipped with a kitchenette with two gas, dishes, bowls and allows those who wish to be autonomous. Le refuge de Chardonnière est situé sur le tracé du GR5 - GR96 et est recommandé aux amoureux de la nature. En effet il est avant tout le lieux d'alpage de nos troupeaux de vaches et de chèvres laitières. Ainsi vous y trouverez un accueil simple et chaleureux, un repas généreux et copieux cuisiné au maximum avec les produits de notre ferme, ainsi qu'une nuit de sommeil bercée au son des clarines.

This idyllic alpine pasture in the heart of Les Portes du Soleil, easily accessible on foot or by chairlift, is a popular picnic destination for families and a renowned fishing spot! Built in the 19th century, the Refuge de Chesery was initially just a sturdy cowshed. Renovated in 1987, the bulding was transformed into a welcoming refuge. For over two decades, the refuge was run by the Es-Borrat family, until 2008 when they handed it over William Grenon. He, along with his vast herds of sheep, has been summering here since 1982. You'll find him still here today, caring for his sheep and offering his own local products and Valaisan specialties for sale at the refuge.

The mountain hut is situated at the Col de la Golèse in the middle of an alpine meadow. It offers a wonderful panorama on the south side overlooking the Giffre valley and Samoëns and on Morzine and Manche valley on the north side. Located on the route of the GR5, GRP Dents blanches and Tour du Haut Giffre, the Golèse refuge is a starting point for many hikes, and you can stay here for one or more days in charming rooms or dormitories. Accessible to all from the age of 5 in 1h30 (600m ascent), the refuge was completely rebuilt in the 90s. The Baud family, who own the refuge, have been welcoming you for over 25 years to this charming alpine setting. Along the trail, you'll discover a rich variety of mountain plants and, if you're discreet, all the wild fauna of our mountains.
