Tavaneuse lake

Located at 1805 m altitude in Abondance, at the foot of the cliffs of the small Piron point, between scree slopes and alpine meadows, the Tavaneuse lake is one of the most beautiful lakes in the Chablais. The access is sporty but the clarity of its waters is worth the diversions!
The ascent to the lake, of moderate difficulty, is made from the Prétairié parking lot or from the Lac des Plagnes via the Ardens chalets. If you're feeling more sporty, you can reach the Roc de Tavaneuse (2156 m).
Dry fly fishing is also available here at sunrise.
Several hiking trails invite you to discover this mountain lake.
Like all high-altitude lakes, swimming is not recommended for health reasons and to preserve the fragile aquatic environment.
