Audio guided visit of a merchant and medieval crafts exhibition. This former merchant house from the 13th century was used as an indoor fair during the fairs of Champagne, and then as a warehouse for the tithe from the 14th century onwards. This monument has a sophisticated architecture with vaulted halls and capitals. Nowadays, it houses a lively exhibition thanks to the scenography with main crafts and merchants from the Middle Ages.

Saint-Martin Church is located in the heart of the village of Egreville. It is built on the foundations and some walls of an earlier chapel that disappeared in a large fire in the 13th century. It was damaged during the hundred-year war and rebuilt in the 15th century. The belfry that served as a watchtower is attached to the church in the sixteenth century and becomes its main entrance. The arrow is added in the seventeenth.

The covered market replaces the one that disappeared in the fire of 1282 at the end of the 15th century. It was modified in the 17th century to stabilize it. A span was removed to build a hard limestone gable. The weekly market is always there. As well as the traditional fat poultry fair (it has existed for more than 90 years) which takes place on the second Saturday of December each year.

Come and admire the magnificent wall paintings in this church, known as the Chapelle de Lourps! The chapel of Lourps is today isolated on its hillside bordered by the Voulzie. But before the Revolution, it was attached to the adjacent castle and served a hamlet whose houses disappeared during the 19th century. Its rectangular plan and gable roof make it a simple building. It has no spire and its bell is housed in the roof structure. Its particularity is revealed inside, with magnificent wall paintings from the 13th and 15th centuries! These were discovered thanks to explorations during the major restoration work that began in the 1980s and lasted 12 years. This work was carried out following the collapse of the choir vault in 1966, which resulted in the chapel being closed to the public. Inside the chapel, you will find a panel describing the different stages of the restoration and a historical booklet to learn more about this real treasure, only 8 km southwest of Provins! Beside the beautiful parish church, the ancient graveyard became a medieval garden designed upon the theme of "live and death". Twelve rectangles symbolise the twelve apostles and the twelve month of the year. As in the 13th century, the rectangles bordered by sandstone pavement are supposed to produce medical herbs, which are protected by willow branches. The flowerbeds are more decorative and surrounded by small box trees are reminding of the spiritual lectures of the symbols in the 15th century. The plants, which were all regularly used for medical purposes in the Middle Ages, bring back to memory almost forgotten smells. This medieval garden is open every day and the entrance is free. Please note that picking is forbidden, due to the toxicity of some plants.

Built in 11th century, a great fire partiatly destroyed the church in 1157. The church was rapidly restored thanks to the explotation of its relics. Being the addition of varied architectural styles, Saint Ayoul church is a composite monument. The transept still has its 11th century's aspect, the nave from 13th century and early 16th. The frontage is simple whereas the interior is of a great complexity. Awfully mutilated, the main gate of the frontage mentions the golden age of gothic era with its statues. The frontcourt of the church was the first place of trade and fairs in Provins. In 1990, the monument was enriched by and exceptional gate with bronze sculptures made by the contemporary artist Georges Jean Clos ( 1933-1998).

One of the most beautiful Romanesque buildings in the Ile de France. The church of the Benedictine priory of Saint-Loup-de-Naud is one of the most beautiful roman style buildings in Ile de France! This church has a unique portal dating from the early Gothic period, sculpted with statue-columns, and fully restored since 2017. The chevet, transept and the first two bays of the nave date from the 11th century. The wall paintings in the choir and apse date from 1867. They replace much older paintings which have now been destroyed, but which have fortunately been recorded (visible on panels available in the church). Only the representation of Saint Savinien, located in the choir on the right, dates from the 12th century. Victor Garnier, a very successful local industrial, who made his fortune in Paris, bought a property in 1848 in the lower part of the city. There he created an irregular garden in the English style. After his death the city received this property as heritage in order to open it to the public. This garden covering 8000 m2 is a privileged witness of the landscape art of the 19th century offering flower beds, tree combinations with unusual species (copper beech trees, catalpa trees, royal ginkgo…), a great variety of flowers and many garden sculptures. At the end of the 19th century, some interesting remaining of former monuments have been given to the garden completing it romantic aspect.

This church owes its name to the bringing of a bit of a the Croic de Terre Sainte by Thinaut the 4th in 1237. It was built during 13th century, but after a fire in 1309, it was restored in 16th century. The main gate is from the Renaissance. The stained-glass window are from the 16th century, the have and the vault from 13th century. Nowadays, the monument is closed to visitors.

When you get near Provins, you notice the shapes of Ceasar's Tower and of the dome of the Collégiale Saint-Quiriace. Built in 12th century, the lack of money under the reign of Philippe le Bel the following century let the construction of the monument unachieved. The have and the gate should be at the height of the cruce. the dome, built after the fall of the transept is from 17th century. Please note that the collegiate church is currently closed to the public due to major renovation work!

Paintings, drawings and engravings showing Provins in the romantic period, coins, medals locks and keys, weapons and surprising bronze waterspouts (17th century) make up the collection.
