In the heart of the Périgord Noir, several circuits will allow bikers of all levels to discover an exceptional region. The proposed route n°3 allows you to leave in the hillsides of the valley where the vineyard of Domme used to be located.

The commune of Florimont Gaumier, rich in natural and architectural heritage in the Perigord style with Quercy influences, has undeniable assets to attract all the curious. A dynamic around the vineyard confirms the revival of the culture of the vine and the wine of the Country of Domme. The vineyards are located on the slopes of the Céou, a small tributary river of the Dordogne, and it is this charming and capricious river that gave its name to the Chai de Moncalou cooperative cellar. The vines produced high quality wines, served at the King's Court! In 1870 it was the second largest vineyard in the Dordogne after Bergerac with no less than 2700 hectares. After the phylloxera and the great wars, the vineyard disappeared... The small village is organized around 2 bell towers: Florimont, perched at 272m, Causse country and Gaumier which sees the Céou flowing at its feet.

From the Florimont call sign on the Calvaire parking lot. Leave the parking lot and turn right, then left. 150m further on, turn right towards Moncalou.

The charming Domaine Chante L’Oiseau is located in the South East of the magnificent and very sunny region of the Périgord Noir, an area of outstanding natural beauty. For wine-growing purposes, the region goes under the designated name of « IGP Périgord ». The vineyard at an altitude of 349 m, specialises in white wine with grape varieties including Chardonnay, Viognier and Sauvignon. The wine-making process adopted is totally respectful of the natural surroundings in which the vineyard is situated, and organic practises are used from the outset. The land on which the vines are grown was previously left uncultivated for over 50 years and has a clay-limestone soil very similar to the soil type from which the AOC Chablis wine is produced.

A family run business where the walnuts production is transformed in in walnut oil or in sweet or salty delicacies. Camper vans welcome.

The Domaine de Lasfargues is a farm whose origins are lost in the mists of time. We are in the village of Moncalou at 400 meters from the "Panoramic Tower". Situated 15mm from Domme on a high point of the Céou hills, you will discover a magnificent panorama in a preserved environment. In addition to our shop, you will be able to visit our wine storehouse, the farm buildings, some of which date from the 17th century. You will thus be able to discover the life and the evolution over time of a traditional farm in our area. We produce different wines, white, red and rosé but also a crémant and aperitifs, walnut wine and ratafia. We also produce walnuts which are marketed in shells in kernels or walnut oil. All our productions are in Organic Agriculture. The visit and the tastings are free.

10 km south of Domme, in the Perigord Noir, discover the dry stone constructions of Daglan (walls, cabins and huts). Peasants built these as shelter for their tools and themselves at the end of the Hundred Year War. First of all you visit the museum retracing their history with an extensive collection an life-sized reproductions, then you go on a 3km walk during which ou will see 2 very famous wall cabins. In this traditional village of the Périgord Noir, children will discover the life of the peasants of yesteryear through a discovery itinerary. From the earth to the plate, from the stone to the thatched cottage, from the fountain to the glass, popular traditions will hold no secrets for them. Built in the 11th and 12th centuries, the church of Saint-Martin de Daglan has been remodelled many times. It is dedicated to Saint Martin, elected bishop of Tours in 371. This dedication attests that the parish is ancient and that it would exist since the Carolingian period. Of the original construction of the 11th and 12th centuries only the portal and some capitals remain today. The church consisted of a single nave and a small transept. During the reconstruction following the destruction of the Wars of Religion, chapels dedicated to local seigniorial families were added. At the end of the 19th century, taking advantage of the need for repairs, the church was extended by three bays. The bell-tower rises above the choir.
