This walk links Valloire to Les Verneys via the Vita-Vittel trail along the river. It can be enjoyed all year round, and is equally popular with families and sports enthusiasts. In summer, admire the straw and hay sculptures on display at Les Verneys. This wooded course features several exercise stations, a warm-up area, two flexibility and strength areas, a coordination and balance area, and a balance and relaxation area. This hike will take you through the pretty hamlet of Le Col and the 3 Croix, a symbolic hike in Valloire. In winter, the hike is accessible when the avalanche risk is less than 3/5. To activate geolocation, click on the map icon.

This walk is mostly on minor roads. The view from the chapel in the hamlet of Poingt Ravier is magnificent. In winter, risk of avalanche in this area from level 3/5 this route is not recommended.

More than 18 km of high mountain await you to climb this mythical pass and reach a splendidly panoramic finish at 2642 m. The Tour de France first passed over the Galibier on July 10, 1911, and on that day Émile Georget, the only rider to do so without setting foot on the ground, exclaimed to witnesses: "That'll put you in a corner", while calling the organizers "bandits" who dared to take the riders over this pass. Since then, it has become one of the most prestigious stages and has seen some of the biggest names take part. From the summit, you have a magnificent view of the Grand Galibier, the Pic Blanc du Galibier, the Glaciers de la Meije, Mont Viso and, on a clear day, Mont Blanc. The Col du Galibier is a crossroads between two major Alpine valleys on the route des grandes alpes.

The Brive gondola provides access to the Crey du Quart massif. In winter, the gondola transports skiers and pedestrians alike. In summer, pedestrians and mountain bikers are welcome.

SEM Valloire manages the ski area and associated lifts. It also manages the following facilities: swimming pool, ice rink, Val Form, Bike Park, Séa games and other activities at the top of the lifts.

Valloire has 17 chapels, all along the valley, from the Télégraphe pass to Bonnenuit. Each hamlet had its own chapel, where, in May, we used to meet to honour the Virgin Mary, where we would celebrate the Saint's day, where the bell would ring the death knells... In their present state, the chapels date from the 17th century and later. Culminating at an altitude of 1566m, the Col du Télégraphe took its name from the fort which was built there between 1885 and 1893. It dominates the Maurienne Valley, and in past centuries, it played a major defensive role, overlooking St Michel de Maurienne on one side and the military Galibier road on the other. Less well known than its neighbour, the Galibier, the Col du Télégraphe is still a considerable climb, as the cyclists who have completed it will tell you. Climbing the Col du Télégraphe from Saint Michel de Maurienne: Departure: 710m - Arrival: 1566, Length: 11.8km - Elevation 856m Average %: 7.3% - Maximum %: 9.7%

The fort is at a 10-minute walk from the Télégraphe mountain pass. It overlooks the Maurienne Valley and offers greats views on the Arc valley. It is open only in summer and with guides. Built between 1885 and 1893, Fort du Télégraphe stands on the site of one of the Chappe aerial telegraph relays on the imperial Paris-Milan line. Its polygonal, Séré de Rivières-style architecture is adapted to the site's spectacular relief. The fort also served as a command post (Battle of the Alps, June 10-25, 1940) during the Italian offensive in the Valloire-Valmeinier sector. The fort can be reached in 10 minutes from the Col du Télégraphe parking lot via a narrow road. The fort has around 50 steps to climb during the visit. Bring a little wool. Located a short distance from the pass at an altitude of 1570 m, above a sheer drop overlooking Saint-Michel-de-Maurienne, the impressive Fort du Télégraphe owes its name to the Chappe signalling mast which was built on the site in the early 19th C. Just a stone's throw from the pass, at an altitude of 1,570 m, above a sheer cliff overlooking Saint-Michel-de-Maurienne, the imposing Fort du Télégraphe owes its name to the presence of a Chappe telegraph signal tower built here in the early 19th century. Built between 1886 and 1890, the fort is the centerpiece of Saint-Michel-de-Maurienne's military stronghold. It bears witness to the militarization of the Alps in the late 19th century. On the site of a former Marshal de Berwick camp (18th century), then a Chappe telegraph station, the fort was built by the Armée des Alpes under General Berge in 1886-1890 to defend the Saint-Michel-de-Maurienne town square and the Col du Galibier road opened in 1891. Its Séré de Rivières-style architecture is spectacularly adapted to the terrain. The fort was reused in the active defense line of the Savoy fortified sector, the Maginot Line of the Alps, in 1940.

Lac des Jeux is an artificial lake in the heart of the Valmeinier ski area, easily accessible on foot or by the Jeux chairlift. Fishing authorized in summer, information at the Tourist Office.

A former house in the middle of the village of Montricher, this eco-museum offers a glimpse of daily life in the past: home life, farming the fields, wood working. Plus a slate-making demonstration, the production of which continued until the 1970s

Restaurant of typical high mountain pasture, located in Fontcouverte, a hamlet +1860m. Formerly a place where cheese was made, the Fruitière now operates as a restaurant, and is an unmissable stop in the higher Clarée valley. Anything from snacks to real meals, you will find housecooked, local food and moutain specialties. Open everyday in wintertime, summertime and All Saints' Day holidays. Booking in advance is recommanded for lunches, and necessary for dinners (dinners only in summertime). Access in wintertime is only on foot/snowshoe, or ski. 1h30 from Névache Ville-Haute. In a quiet location, with views of the chamois, the gite is located 6km south of Valloire and 3km from the 'Verneys ski lift', at 1750m altitude. A terrace offers magnificent views of the Galibier (3228m) to the south and the Aiguilles d'Arves (3510m) to the west. Valloire is a mountain village located in the Maurienne Valley, 17km from St Michel de Maurienne, between the col du Télégraphe and the Col du Galibier. The gite is a place to stay and relax, whether with friends or family. It has been classified 2 ears of wheat (Gites de France rating) and is maintained each year to meet the requirements of this classification; its maximum capacity is 30 people. Overlooked by the Aiguilles d'Arves, the Aiguille de l'Epaisseur and the Aiguille d'Argentière, the refuge is set amidst high-altitude meadows at 2260m. In winter, access is difficult and subject to avalanche risk. Go accompanied by a guide.

Chalet d'la Croë offers you a unique experience: sleeping in a tent at the foot of the Aiguilles d'Arves. There are 2 possibilities: - rent a pitch on your own and bring your own equipment - occupy one of the 3 fully-equipped tents (mattress and comforter) Mountain guide Virginie welcomes you to her summer garden at Chalet d'la Croë*, where you can spend cool, unusual nights camping at the foot of the Aiguilles d'Arves. There are two ways to do this: - rent a single pitch and bring your own camping equipment - rent a pitch with your own tent, mattress, comforter and blankets. Beware: at 2000 m altitude, nights are chilly. On-site chickens, goats, dogs and sometimes cows! There's a toilet block outside, as well as dry toilets and a drinking water point. Crocs are also available. To save water, showers are only available for two-day stays. In Saint Jean d'Arves, at 2150m of altitude, it is an old family chalet used by the grand parents' owner, in summer, to leave the cows in the pastures and make hay. The chalet has been undergoing renovation since the summer of 2016 and is accessible walking from Entraigues (Saint Jean d'Arves) in about 3 hours (900 meters of elevation over 7km) or from Le Chalmieu (Albiez-Montrond) walking by the Basse du Gerbier. The chalet is equipped with spring water and has electricity by solar panels. Dry toilets and water point nearby. Inside, on the ground floor, a kitchen, a large living room, a bathroom (under construction) and the owner's bedroom. Upstairs there is the dormitory with 10 places. These are "baflants" (one big bed for evrey guest) with mattresses next to each other, fitted with bed sheets, duvet cushions and blankets Obligation to have sleeping bags.
