Created by Malcolm Forbes, this museum tells the story of hot-air ballooning.

Listed as a ‘remarkable’ garden with over 2,000 plant varieties for the visitor to admire and even to purchase in the adjacent market garden. Created 15 years ago, a second terraced garden is planted with yews pruned in topiaries in an Italian spirit, with a maze at its extremity. The garden was awarded the National Garden Prize 2009 by the AJHH (gardening and horticulture journalists’ association). Visit lasts: 1 hour. Plan of the garden on loan at the entrance or guided tour for groups. Plants for sale on site. Pushchairs and dogs are not permitted inside the gardens.

In 1741, a coal seam was discovered in Littry. It was the prelude to intense industrial activity for the next 200 years, in this once peaceful market town. The story of this activity is told at the Mining Museum, via old tools, steam engine produced by the Périer brothers (1800), unique in France, reproduction of a mine shaft, scale-model of the No. 5 pit in Bruay, archaeological excavation, etc.

This museum presents the activities of a 19th century farm-mill which is still operational to this day. The farm buildings are evocative of the site's agricultural activity: stables, cellar.... Guided tour lasts: 1 h 15 minutes.

Pearl of Roman Art, this magnificent abbey was founded in 1032 by Duke Robert the Magnificent.
