New museography 2023/2024: The Maison de la forêt invites you to discover its permanent exhibition on the history of the Forêt de Cerisy, the environments that make it up, the interaction between plant and animal species and the actions of man (free admission during opening hours). A temporary exhibition section is renewed every quarter on a variety of themes (photos, nature, culture, crafts, etc.). A new tourist reception area is available for visitors wishing to discover the Isigny-Omaha area and its surroundings, the hiking trails of the Cerisy forest and the many activities on offer for young and old alike. There's also a store selling a wide range of items: books, children's games, local produce, etc. For outings with the whole family or just the two of you, take advantage of our bike/mountain bike hire service and our many hiking trails. The Maison de la Forêt also welcomes groups and offers events from February to November, with indoor and/or outdoor activities, depending on the theme chosen.

Château de Balleroy is a 17th-century historic monument designed by François Mansart. Come and discover it during guided tours, which will allow you to admire almost ten decorated and furnished rooms. Feel free to explore the balloon museum, created by Malcolm Forbes - former owner and hot-air balloon enthusiast - and stroll around the formal gardens and charming English park. Extend your experience by visiting the historic dovecote and the flower garden, where works by Albert de Balleroy are on display, or by enjoying the boutique and tearoom. Duration of the guided tour of the Château in French or English: approximately 45 minutes. Tours depart every hour: first tour at 11am, last tour at 5pm. Booklets available in French, English, German, Dutch, Italian, Spanish and Russian. Free admission for children under 7. Reduced rates for under-18s, students and PRMs (on presentation of proof). Group rates apply to groups of 15 or more. Pets welcome In the Château: small dogs may be carried in the arms or in a bag only. In the museum and park: dogs on a lead are welcome. Accessibility The Château is not accessible to wheelchair users (no lift), but the museum is accessible via an outside walkway. There is an adapted toilet cubicle. Meal trays can be booked in the tearoom (at least 24 hours before the date of the visit).

Listed as a ‘remarkable’ garden with over 2,000 plant varieties for the visitor to admire and even to purchase in the adjacent market garden. Created 15 years ago, a second terraced garden is planted with yews pruned in topiaries in an Italian spirit, with a maze at its extremity. The garden was awarded the National Garden Prize 2009 by the AJHH (gardening and horticulture journalists’ association). Visit lasts: 1 hour. Plan of the garden on loan at the entrance or guided tour for groups. Plants for sale on site. Pushchairs and dogs are not permitted inside the gardens.

The church and monastery form a fine classical architectural group erected in the 18th century by Eustache Restout. Both buildings and site are listed. In the north transept, the Virgin's chapel: sculptured group in terracotta sculpture from Noron la Poterie, by Melchior Verly. Premonstratensian abbey and highly active cultural centre. Group reservation available. Guided tour at 4 p.m. every day from 01/07 to 31/08 and at 3.30 p.m. on Sundays from 01/09 to 30/06.

The botanic garden in Bayeux is a 2.6 hectare landscaped park created in 1859 by the Bülher brothers. Among its 400 trees, the most spectacular is a ‘weeping beech’, a listed historic monument since 1932 and certified a ‘Remarkable Tree of France’ in 2000. An integral part of Bayeux’s fine heritage, a ‘discovery’ trail comprised of information terminals offers visitors the keys to help them understand the garden and its main species, at their own pace.

Fine example of Norman Medieval architecture consecrated on 14th July 1077 in presence of William the Conqueror. Extension and embellishment work between the 13th and 15th centuries.

A genuine gateway to the D-Day Landing Beaches, the museum offers you a delve into History, over a chronological account of the events of the summer of 1944, enhanced with themed exhibition areas covering topics such as the Resistance and General de Gaulle, war correspondents, the Allied aviation, civilian life... all illustrated via period pieces and equipment. Archive film (25 minutes) - Normandy 44: Decisive Victory in the West. Tour lasts: from 30 mins to 1h30.

In the middle of the medieval town, Le Radar is a contemporary art space that never stands still. All year round, visitors can discover temporary exhibitions and cultural events. Every summer, it puts on a major exhibition that's not to be missed!

A certified ‘Museum of France’, the MABH invites you on a journey through the history of European art, via a display of 600 works of art (Caillebotte, Van Dongen, Boudin, etc.), 800 archaeological and ethnographic exhibits, 800 Bayeux porcelain pieces and 100 lace exhibits. You will also learn of Normandy’s eventful history, from prehistory to the modern age. Within an innovative scenographic display, the museum’s collections are housed in Bayeux’s former episcopal palace, a listed historic monument.

The British Bayeux War Cemetery is located in the immediate vicinity of the Battle of Normandy Memorial Museum. 4,648 graves.

ATTENTION! The Bayeux Tapestry Museum is closed for renovation work. The Tapestry will remain inaccessible until the museum reopens in October 2027. Listed on Unesco's Memory of the World register since 2007, the Bayeux Tapestry is a genuine masterpiece of Romanesque art. This one-piece canvas wall hanging, embroidered in the 11th century, is of a length of 70m and a height of 50cm. It offers an illustrated narration of the Norman Conquest of England in 1066 by the Duke of Normandy, later to become William the Conqueror. It is a truly unique document on European life in the Middle Ages.
