Discover a pleasant stroll along the Tarn in family!From the parking, foward on the road about 200m, then join the river banks by taking the MTB route on the left side . At the first junction go on the left side of the cross then straight ahead to go along the Tarn river until joining the RD 187.Go along the road on the right about 100 m then fork on the left onto the path that goes up joining the hamlet des Crotes. The path goes along the hills until Paulhe.Reach until the road in a hairpin bend. Take it on the right side about 100 m before turning right towards "rue des Eglantiers". Fork on the right towards "rue de la Forge" then left towards "rue de l'ancienne fontaine" to get back to the departure. Finish your walk by visiting la Maison de la Cerise (the Cherry house) and/or the orchards conservatory to discover different variaties of cherries in the valley.

From Millau, a cycle and pedestrian stroll of 16 km along the banks of the Tarn. Numerous viewpoints, wooded passages, discovery of villages, the Viaduct…Take the cycle path, towards The Dourbie Valley, then the bridge leading to the Campsite Huttopia and go along the plain.Take the public highway, pass in front of the archeological site of the Graufesenque and at the level of the public hothouses turn right, follow the Tarn River until the village of Creissels.Crossing of the old village of Creissels.Go along the Tarn and at the level of the bridge, take the cycle path until the roundabout of Raujolles. Variant: only for bike riders and sportspersons: across the submersible bridge, public path.Take the public path of Bastard towards the filtration station.A break is possible under the Viaduct of Millau.Go along the Tarn until “Barque”, this part is only accessible with VTC/MTB, view on the village of Peyre, classify “most beautiful village of France”. Submersible passage!Take the public highway, then turn left to Linas, cross the Cernon river on the left bank by a path.After the bridge on the Cernon river, go on the left to Saint-Georges de Luzençon.In the development section,turn right, cross the bridge and after the bridge on the right , go along the Cernon river, on the left bank by a path.Once in the village of Saint-Georges de Luzençon, cross the RD.

Come and explore the Pedestal of Fontaneilles, a medieval fortress built on a rocky peak, dominating the valley and offering a 360° panorama.Leave the parking and go up to the castle, then follow the path on the right that goes along the ramparts, on 400 m.Get on the path that rises on the left. on 100 m, stay on the path on your right. It goes up in undergrowth, reaches the wooded plateau of the Puech de Fontaneilles and ends up on a forest path.Make a round trip on the right to gain in 300m, the television antenna and enjoy the sight on thr valley of Trébans and the village of Bourg. Retrace your steps and continue straight  ahead on the forest path to arrive at a junction.On the left side, go towards the Pedestral, about 400m. View on the valley of the Tarn, the village of Rivière-sur-Tarn and the hamlet of Caylus perched on the hill on the opposite side. Retrace your steps and come down by taking the forest track in wide laces. Once crossing the gate, go along on 100m and foward on the little path on the left. It leads to Fontaneilles, at a big farm.Get on the left path, 500m after yhe wooden barrier. Keep this track until the road which leads to Col. Follow the signage until the cellars of Entre-deux-Monts.Retrace your steps until finding the path common to an entrance of a field. Follow it until reaching the road of Fontaneilles. Go up on the left and take on right site 200m further to come towards the village.Return on the road and go down until Fontaneilles and cross the village. After the church, take the second street on the left. At the crossing out of stones, follow the path that passes bellow an agricultural shed which continues until Louradou.At the crossing of Louradou, take the path going up to the hamlet of Peyrelade. Take time to discover the castle, a fortress of the 12th century, which the visit allows you to retrace the time of the Lords of Rouergue.

Family walk accessible to all with beautiful viewpoints on the valley and Millau.Drive into the tunnel to pass under the D809 then turn right towards l'école du larzac. After the sign of the school, take the path that goes along on the left side. Go over a first fence , then further on, an other fence and abandon the track on the left. The path goes through oak woods and fields edges in border of the causse (Limestone plateau). Further down on the left, climb until another obstacle. A few meters after, reach the panoramic viewpoint on the top of Millau (View on the Lévézou and the Causse Noir).The path continues in direction of the second promontory on the top of Millau. Caution at the edge of the cliff.           Go over an obstacle and 100 m further, reach an intersection.Make a 10 minutes round-trip to discover the Oppidum of la Granède ruins. Keep on the path at the edge of the plateau an go over the following obstacle.Then go ahead on the leftside, on a small path which travels the plateau in the direction of the D809. Before the ruins of Coulons, fork litely on the left to find a shaded path. Turn left and go along the D809 until the first intersection.Continue on the paved road in paralel with the D809 to get back to the departure.

Between sky and earth, wander around on the cliffs of the Gorges du Tarn and gain some hight! Between the Griffon vultures and troglodyt hamlets prepare for suprising discoveries.Go towards the town center of the village Liaucous and come down on the cobblestone street then across the alleys to join the road on the left side and follow on about 500m.Take the path on the left that goes into the woods alongside the hill slope under the Roc des Agudes.Go through the hamlet of Eglazines under the cliff edge. This track goes to the cirque  of Saint-Marcellin.Arrive at the hamlet of Saint-Marcellin and continue on the track up to the causse de Sauveterre. Pass the cross and follow on about 200m.Get on the track on the leftside towards the fountain des Paillasses (drinking water source). Follow on the left the "caussenard" path.At the crossroads, come off the path on the right towards Vors and foward the track on the left until the junction with the path of Eglazines. Turn off towards South in direction of Puech about 800m. Leave the path and turn right onto the track going into the forest. This track goes along the cliff and passes below the via ferrata before regaining the village of Liaucous. 

Breath-taking, dizzying… the reference hike in the gorges of the Tarn and the Jonte, with the emblems of the Vase de Sèvre and the Vase de Chine, astonishing natural creations.1. Walk along the main street towards Meyrueis. Before the fish farm, climb to the left about ten steps between the houses and continue on the path that leads to a pin of the road. Turn right on the climbing path. Arriving at the second pin, follow the road towards the climb, which continues on concrete track.2. Arriving at Capluc, possibility to make a round-trip (30 minutes) to climb the Capluc rock. Wonderful views of le Rozier/Peyreleau and the Tarn valley. Back at the intersection, follow the path and pass the rock refuge, an old bread oven.3. On the left, stairs indicate the direction of the path Jacques Brunet, more steep variant, with more diffuse signs, which joins the circuit after the Francbouteille pass (4). This option will delight the biggest climbers and the youngest. Otherwise continue the path and climb in laces, along the ravine of Echos. Ignore the path that goes down to the right. At the crossroads, take a left to the Francbouteille pass (altitude 765 m).   4. On the Tarn side, after a kilometre walk, reach the Teil fountain (200m to the left below). The path widens and climbs regularly. At the pass, leave on your left a descent leading to l’Ermiatege St-Pons.5. In a pin, leave to the left the path leading to the rock of Cinglegros, and continue towards the Cassagnes pass (altitude 874m). At the first crossroads, go straight, and then turn to the second right in a southerly direction. At the bottom of a slight descent, go right, then left at the next fork. At this point, the path transforms into a track. Here begins a dazzling journey overlooking the cliffs of the Jonte.6. Pass successively at the Balcony of Vertigo (lookout point equipped with a bodyguard), then the Pas du Loup, a narrow way leading at the foot of the Vase de Chine and the Vase de Sèvres.7. The path joins the Echos ravine. Go down to the left towards Capluc and follow the same path as the way to reach the village. 

By following the ledges of Larzac, dominating the Tarn valley and Millau, an exceptional meeting with the highest Viaduct of the world.From the site of hang gliding of Brunas, go (West) to the vison area of the Viaduct. Follow an causeway on 500m (seen on the whole Viaduct, panels of interpretation). Continue on 500m up to the highly-rated point 715.Leave the GR71D which makes a commitment to the right towards the ledges of Boundoulaou cirque. Continue quite straight ahead on the path through the plateau du Larzac. In the junction with the tarred road, turn to the right on 300m. At the first ceossing turn right on the road leading to Brouzes and Carbon. Continue to the right on 800m, cross the highway (A75) (Thanks to the Viaduct of Millau, the "Méridienne" (highway A75) is the shortest, the most economic and the most fluid way between Paris and the Mediterranean).Make a junction with the GR which follow to the right the road parallel to A75 leading to Bel Air. Cross under the highway and join the farm (wonderful classified restoration).By-pass the farm and make a commitment to the left on a path through box tree and junipers then reach a source (resurgence) feeding a drinking through.Pursue on a narrow path at the foot of the cliffs then join a uncovered collar. Turn 90° to the right on a very steep dirt path (stiff slope on 400m). Reach the summit of the cliffs. Continue to the left on the plateau by following the ledges.           2. Follow on the left the path borrowed on the                 way out to join the site of Brunas. 

Discovery of the flora on the causses, the ruiniformed rocks of Rajol and the imposant rocky chaos of Roquesaltes.From the parking, foward on the D991 that passes in the village. Right after the restaurant and the road to Montpellier-le-vieux, go up the cobblestone street towards the old oven and the church.The path joins the GR62. Turn right to discover the hamlet of Montméjean passing infront of the washbasin.Turn back until the intersection and follow the GR62 going up on the Causse Noir (limestone plateau), (on the leftside the ruiniformed chaos of Rajol with surprising shapes).Follow up until Roquesaltes to discover the ruiniformed chaos and a typical farmhouse "caussenarde".Take on the left side, the path that goes around the Chaos on the West side and cross below on the right, an arch naturally pierced into the rock. The path goes down winding throughout the woods until the road.At the bridge, go down on the road about 200 m and following the landslide continue on the road until the village. (Don't turn right on the path plunging into the ravine to join La Roque-Sainte Marguerite).

Hiking trail accessible to all towards the site of Luzençon and its chapel of the 12th century. Enjoy A 360° breathtaking view!Go along the Cernon river on the leftside bank in direction of "Linas".At the first bridge cross the stream then turn left. Go along until the second bridge and cross over. The road leads to the beautiful hamlet of Linas.In the village, take the right path of the cross then leave it 100 m further to follow the one on the left that goes along a field. Reach a first crossway and follow up on the opposite path. At the second crossway keep straight ahead and join on the flat part, a larger track to follow on the left.Go through the hamlet of Crayssaguet until the sheepfold and go along to find a soil path. Once arriving opposite a field go back up the left path.Cross the road and get on the track that goes up on the opposite side until the entrance of Luzençon hamlet. Turn left, then immediatly on the right, the road that goes to the summit of the mound (wonderful panorama on the surronding causses and valley;viewpoint indicator).Come back down the typical small streets that leads to Saint-Georges de Luzençon. Outstanding fountain to see on the way.

Starting from the ramparts of La Cavalerie, the discovery of an unsuspected Larzac:  the plain of the Temple, fertile land cleared by the Knigths Templar in the Middle Age for cereal cultivation.From the town hall, enter into the fortifications by the "Tour des Commandeurs" (east gate), and take "Rue de la ville", then exit by the "Place des Templiers" (west gate), turn right to access the D999 then left to join the crossroads with the D809. Cross it and take in front the direction of Saint-Rome de Cernon, St-Affrique (D999), continue on 250 m then turn on the left after the second intersection.At 200 m, continue right on the road that passes on the motorway. At the first crossroads, continue straight.After the “mare du Lavagnol” (cobbled watering place), turn left.At the next crossroads, turn left on a wide track (leave the GR®), let on the right a stony path to Sainte-Eulalie de Cernon. Continue on the track for 900 m.Turn left on a grassy path which climbs gently towards a grove. At the first junction, make a hairpin turn on the left on a large stony path.At the next fork, turn right, then continue straight on. Perform a short slope to arrive on the road to Sainte-Eulalie. Follow it to the left. Pass under the motorway and find the D999.Turn right towards the parking.

Bramabiau is one of those grandiose and bizarre works of nature. A veritable cradle of French speleology, the tour is 1 km long and very accessible. Built between the 12th and 16th centuries, the Château de Peyrelade constituted one of the most important fortresses in the Rouergue in the Middle Ages, thanks to the position of its natural rock-dungeon that enables it to control the Tarn valley. Today, guided visits enable you to discover the site's turbulent history, its very particular architecture as well as numerous restoration works and digs that have been undertaken in the last 25 years. The visit ends by climbing onto the rock that offers a superb panorama of this section of the valley and the Gorges du Tarn. Scenery walk with models, reconstituted drawings, animations and viewpoint indicators.

At the end of the 19th century, three priest (Abbot Lubac, abbot Cazes and abbot Pineau), undertook colossal project to set up a statue of the Virgin Mary on the Puech de Fontaneilles who can be seen by all the horizons, the Limestone plateau and Lévezou.The construction was not easy. About ten workers got down to it during two years.The villagers voluntarily participated to create an accessible path to transport the necessary materials for the construction of the site.The water of a source discovered at the beginning of the path was collected in barrels and was use for the preparation of mortar. The stone was extracted and cut on the spot.Once the Pedestal finished, it was only waiting on the Statue of the Virgin that was ordered in belgium and never came.Swinle, lies, embezzlement, nobody knows what really happened. 

At the entrance of the Gorges du Tarn, the wine cellars Entre-deux Monts is located above Fontaneilles.The old vaults out of thick flagstones on the slope of the peak of Suège, is a village which offers discoveries.Each family possessed their cellars to preserve and refine the wine. The door facing north side, twoo small vertical openings and the fleurines (a crack in the rock of natural cellars) as in Roquefort, guaranteed a fresh and constant temperature.In these ancient times where only vineyards and some herds enabled the survival of modest peasant economy, the village of cellars was also a place of friendliness wher the fontaneillois meet every sunday.

The Cauuse Noir (Limestone Plateau) established with shaded forests - in which its name - and big spaces, possess many spectacular landscapes, among which, the Chaos of Montpellier-le-vieux and the cave of Dargilan. The Lévézou is known for its lakes and the city of insects Micropolis at Saint Léons. The Viaduct of Millau, inaugurated in 2004, has the world record for hight with a pylone over the valley of 343 meters. Over the water, the descent by canoe on the Dourbie valley is the ideal way to submerge in a wild and authentic landscape.

Dominating the city of Millau, the Oppidum of la Granède extends on a promontory advance on the aspect North side of the Causse du Larzac.  Fortified and strategic area implanted on the hights at the limit between cauuse and valley, permitted to keep a close watch towards the South on the roads coming from the causse and the trafics and exchanges between the south and the north. The city of Millau contributes with the department at the archeological construction of the Oppidum of la Granède that updated the remains of a christian church and antiques substructures.

Guard of the Dourbie valley, it is stretched between the Causse du Larzac and the Causse Noir. Go up the cobblestone street and access an 11th century church and enjoy an exceptional panorama approaching the 13th century castle. On one side (Causse Noir side) the rocky chaos of Montpellier-le-vieux, on the other side (Larzac) the typical hamlet of Pierrefiche and montredon: 2 limestones plateau with landscapes and habitats built by shepherds and their herds. The Mill du Corp and its humpback bridge (from the 15th century) refines the landscape.

It is one of the most important ruiniform chaos on the Causses (limestone plateau). It constitutes a natural donjon which overhangs,and on the other side of the ravine du Riou Sec, that of Montpellier-le-vieux. Rocks with fantastic shapes among which 4 towers of 40 meters high, in which one is called l'Arc du Triomphe!Some of these sites were once coronate of an amazing image, feeding the imagination of the population which avoided them.

About 240 years, the Causses (limestone plateau*) were formed by the accumulation of marine sediments. The errection of the Pyrenees and the Alps provoked an uprising of the region and formed numerous cracks on the surface area. The streaming infiltrates there, sculping rocks by dissolution of limestone. The erosion is more or less active according to the resistance of rocks, that's why we observe ruiniform sculptures today.

Located in the Borgne Valley, in the commune of Les Plantiers, our Fontfouillouse gîte welcomes you to an unspoilt valley at the foot of a 12th-century Romanesque church. In the midst of the Cévennes chestnut grove, we have created our group gîte. Lime rendering and the use of chestnut wood blend perfectly with the original stone. The garden offers a variety of relaxation areas for a well-deserved rest. Situated on the edge of the GR70 and very close to the GR61, 'Le Pré de Modestine' is the ideal place to enjoy the end of Stevenson's route, or to organize hikes to discover the Cévennes.
