On the borders of the Grands Causses, on the edge of the Cévennes, walk the “Garden of Aveyron”: a symphony of majestic landscapes punctuated by a heritage with a remarkable character.From the  Place du Claux, follow the D999 towards Saint-Jean du Bruel. After the war memorial, take the street on the left towards Ambouls. Cross the bridge of La Prade and continue on the road for 50 meters.Turn left on the trail which goes up along the horse club lands. At 1 km, at the crossroad take on the left towards Roc Nantais-Trèves.At the exit of the woods, opposite a large field, and far away the ruins of the farm of Anguiral, take on the right the path towards Œil-de-Bœuf (excavation in a rock).Oblique right, cross a field (be attentive to the marks) and take the stony path which goes down steep slope and reaches the stream of Valettes. Follow it and pass near old calamine ovens. Continue keeping right in the valley and arrive to Saint-Gleys. Cross the hamlet and continue on the road to the left towards Saint-Jean-du-Bruel. At the entrance of the village turn right and cross the old bridge.Go left to discover the center of the village, then return to the bridge. Take the road D999 towards Nant for 500m, then turn left towards Fougayrolles. Cross the hamlet and continue left towards a path which goes up to a cross. Follow right the road which leads to the ruins of Algues Castle. Possibility to go and back to the panorama.Continue on a wide dirt road which goes down to the valley and arrives to the fortified Castelnau farm. Take the D999 on left for 1,2km.Take right the road which crosses the Dourbie river on a submersible bridge. 50m after the bridge, turn left on the road and continue north.Cross the La Prade bridge and return to Nant.

Along trails, single-track paths and box hedges, gravitate around La Couvertoirade and explore the Larzac Causse rich in landscaped splendours and unexpected technical difficulties!From the car park, go on the track towards south-east to cross the Cazejourdes plain and arrive to the road D55. Cross the road and take the path that is almost in front to ride on a track for about 1km before meeting the road that goes to the “Domaine de Gaillac” (equestrian center, museum of Southern Aveyron Traditions and restaurant).Cross it and continue on a succession of tracks and single-track paths to the road that leads to the famous fortified village of La Couvertoirade (follow it on the left to visit the Templar and hospitaller site).Turn right to get to the D55 and go straight on the road D185 towards “La Pezade” on 700m, then turn right on a track to La Salvetat.  After the beautiful typical farm, leave the road to enter a box hedge, parallel to a track  and continue to “Le Cun” following a series of magnificent box-lined paths.At “Le Cun” turn right and continue on a well-rolling track for 2km until “La Blaquèrerie”. Cross the village to reach the D7.Follow it on the left for 400m then take the right track for 600m before finding a single-track that goes left. Continue on this magnificent path for 1km until "Fontvive", pass in front of the building and go on for 300m.At the junction with the old railway, turn right and continue for 4km, then take the trail on the right to go back to the car park.

The team can advise you on how to organize your stay. Outdoor activities, hikes and events offer you the chance to discover an exceptional area in the Cévennes National Park, which has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2013. The Tourist Office offers tourist information, documentation, registration for guided theme outings and the sale of specialist literature. The store offers products and objects related to the area: local and regional artists and craftspeople, hiking maps and guides, specialized books and much more. July and August: open daily from 9.30am to 7pm. May, June and September: open Monday to Saturday, 9.30am to 12.30pm and 1.30pm to 6pm, Sundays 10am to 6pm. April and October (until end of All Saints' vacation) + Christmas and February vacations: open Monday to Saturday, 9:30am to 12:30pm and 2:00pm to 5:00pm, Sundays 11:00am to 5:00pm. Winter outside school vacations: open Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, 9:30am to 12:30pm and 2:00pm to 5:00pm, Sundays 11:00am to 5:00pm. Closed on December 25 and January 1. Some 20 kilometers are regularly groomed to ensure that everyone can enjoy the trails. - Snowshoeing, pedestrians, dogs, multi-activities: Not permitted on cross-country ski trails. 3 new loops from the heart of the resort are marked out for family fun in the snow, snowshoeing or other snow activities: the green "Sapinière" trail, the blue "Point sublime" trail and the red "Observatoire" trail. Immerse yourself in art and nature at Aigoual! This circuit reveals regularly renewed installations inspired by nature and the landscapes of Mont-Aigoual. A total of 12 works installed on an 8km loop. Les Balcons de l'Aigoual" land-art trail Here, artists portray the human/nature relationship and confront the climatic phenomena of the Aigoual. The works are therefore constantly evolving. Art inserted into nature returns to an essential source of artistic creation: observation and inspiration by nature. This itinerary allows visitors to cross different atmospheres and places, suggesting a sensitive and intimate approach to nature. Edition 2024: three new works on the trail: "Folies" by Elodie Cabos, "Rideau de pluie" by Yoann Crépin and "Regards" by Matthew Burton. Departure: Prat-Peyrot parking lot, Alti Aigoual station Duration: 2h30 Length: 8km Difficulty: easy Mountain bike access: possible Disabled access: possible on the ascent from Prat-Peyrot to Mont-Aigoual. The descent is on the GR6, access to which is limited to walkers. Elevation gain: 217m. Markings: a black circle and arrow on a yellow background. Access forbidden on the discovery path when snow-covered. Pets must be kept on a leash. The Aigoual summit walk extends to the Hort de Dieu arboretum, with the work of "France-Lan Lê Vu": "Avec mes yeux" ("With my eyes"). to Trèves, Lanuéjols and Saumane, communes which also feature emblematic Cévennes landscapes. These works are all accessible by footpaths or beautiful cycling routes. "Les Balcons de l'Aigoual à Trèves": two works are on offer in the pretty village of Trèves, on the banks of the Trèvezel river: "Ondulations" by Céline Pialot and "Mirage, entre chien et loup" by Sandrine Le Maguer; "Onde" by Jeanne Bourrat in Lanuéjols and "Refuges" by Steven Onghena in Saumane.
