A 106 kilometer road itinerary designed to help you discover the Garonne river valley from village to village. The easy slopes involved allow family outings or enjoying doing it with friends. This cycling itinerary allows you to go from Cierp-Gaud, in the foothills of the Pyrenees mountains, to Carbonne, by following the Garonne River. It's in the Comminges, former Gascony province where the Garonne grows bigger. From being simply a fast stream in the Pyrenees to becoming a branch river and finally a major waterway... Several access points are possible all along this itinerary. Don't miss stopping along the way to see picturesque villages such as Saint-Bertrand-de-Comminges, Saint-Gaudens or even Saint-Martory.

A veritable green lung, the Eaunes Wood ZNIEFF provides a link via the soft paths of the via Garona and the Muretains hillsides to the Clarté Dieu d'Eaunes abbey. A "nature walk" offering views of the Pyrenees and a chance to meet Sylviane Perret, a ceramist and sculptor inspired by the world of minerals. A stone's throw from the route, come and meet Attel'toi and its carriage horses for a ride in a horse-drawn carriage. And after such a walk, what could be better than a little refreshment in the abbey park thanks to Aqua Elna, a water park and water games?

You're off on a lovely walk to discover the village of Le Fousseret and the surrounding area. Between the undergrowth of the Cazac forest, the Chemin de Ronde, the banks of the River Louge and the Picon orientation table, you're in for a real treat!

Start: municipal stadium car park, route de Saiguède, D53B Walk up the path beside the tennis court, then turn left and follow the path (GR86) towards the lake (heading west). Leave the dyke on your left and walk along the lake for about 1km. At the end of the lake, go straight on for about 200m, leave the GR86 and take the path on the left that leads down to the ruisseau de Saint Thomas (south), which you can ford or cross on a new footbridge. When you reach the road, turn left and walk for about 500m, then at the bend in the road at the bottom of a small rise, take the path on the left that overlooks the lake as far as the dyke. Leave the dam on your left and continue along the tarmac track to the D53b road. Turn right and follow the GR86 as far as the village, signposted "le Circuit du lac du Parayré". After 300m, turn left onto "le chemin du Barrat" for 500m. Follow the red and white GR86 signs. When you reach the village, follow the lane to the junction with the D632, admire the well and take the main road to the right: view of the market hall and the church of Ste Foy, cross the D632, pass the market hall, the pond and reach the water tower to take the circuit of the Lac de Parayre.

Take the D83 towards Montclar-de-Comminges. 2. Leave the route du Picon and continue straight ahead on the D62. 3. Leave the D62D in the direction of Montclar-de-Comminges and continue straight on. 4. Turn right onto chemin de Pincarrail 5. Turn left onto the D83 6. Turn right onto the D62D towards Plagne 7. Turn right onto the D49 and pass the village of Plagne 8. At the Ariège border, cross the bridge and continue straight ahead on the D435 to the Cérizols cemetery. 9. At the cemetery, turn left onto the D135 towards Fabas. 10. At Tané, turn left at the hairpin bend and join the D3 towards Le Plan. 11. At the border with the Ariège, turn right onto the D7G as far as the village of Le Plan. 12. Go through the village and at the exit, cross the bridge to the left and turn left 70m after the bridge. 13. At the end of the Chemin du Comte, turn right onto the D7 as far as the village of Couladère. 14. At the roundabout, take the second exit on the left and then, 200 m further on, turn left again onto the D49. 15. At the end of the road, turn right onto the D49D, then follow signs for Mauran by turning left onto the D62. 16. Turn slightly left towards the centre of the village of Mauran.

Here, more than anywhere else, the land undulates as if lifted by a swell triggered by the Autan wind. On this walk, just outside Toulouse, enjoy panoramic views of the Hers valley and the Montagne Noire from the hills of the Lauragais region of Toulouse. Along the way you'll discover : In Montgiscard: the 20th-century postcard-style Grand'Rue, Saint-André church (1541) In Donneville: Saint-Pierre church (1484) with its bell tower and wall, the 19th-century Chapillonie fountain In Deyme: the church of Sainte-Marie Madeleine (12th and 16th centuries), the shaded Alex Ouillac square with its plane trees, arbour and picnic tables. This walk will take you through the pretty little hamlets of Montardit and you'll discover the unusual little chapel of Notre Dame de la Goutte. This curious little chapel, worthy of a surrealist sculptor, was built in 1968 by Abbé Jean-Marie Piquemal and has become a place of pilgrimage during the liturgical feast of Notre-Dame des Sept Douleurs on 15 September. The place exudes a kind of peacefulness and quiet strength.
