Altitude: 871 m. It links the Ugine valley with Queige and the Beaufortain. Nearby are a succession of beautiful hamlets such as La Forclaz and Champ Gilbert. From the pass, a path leads to the ruins of Château de Cornillon, burnt down in the 14th century.

It was built in 1762 after a fire on Easter Monday 1761 threatened to destroy the village. The villagers prayed to Our Lady of the Well and promised to make an offering to the parish if the fire stopped, which it did. It was built in 1762 by Jacques Cléry, from the parish of Chevron, after a fire on Easter Monday 1761 threatened to destroy the village of Mérier, whose roofs were still thatched. In 2011, the town council launched a renovation project. To restore the chapel to its former glory, major exterior work was required. It is the only remaining chapel in Allondaz. Inside, the chapel features a small altarpiece with 2 twisted columns, as well as a 70 cm gilded wooden statuette of the Virgin and Child from the 18th century.

Originally Cohennoz was part of the parish of Héry-sur-Ugine, up until it obtained its independence in 1766. The church was built in the village centre in 1781 and dedicated to St Pierre-aux-Liens. The church in Cohennoz has a distinct charm, largely because of its isolated location and the curios it houses. It is a modest building, still standing in its graveyard. Its design is simple, with just one nave and no pillars, topped with quite a simple bell tower. Inside, the space is decorated and furnished in abundant fashion. The white walls are decorated with geometric, symbolic and floral patterns whilst the beams are coloured red and blue. There are no murals or paintings. The church furniture is eclectic. The cabinet of holy oils is baroque in style. The pulpit is very lovely. Several of the statues date from the 19th century. The modest altar is made from white and pink marble. The side altars are more ornate, dedicated to the Virgin and Child and to St François de Sales. Reliquaries stand in front of the altars.

Learn about the lime industry of yore in an educational tour of the recently restored lime kilns of Cons-Sainte-Colombe, located between Annecy and Ugine. This industry provided construction materials for the entire area until the late 19th Century. The museographical space is delicately embedded in the restored vestiges. Mont Charvin (2407 m) is one of the main peaks of the Aravis mountain range and is recognisable by its pyramid shape and steep rock face.
