From Albertville, follow signs for Beaufort as far as the village of Queige. At the Queige traffic circle, turn left towards the town center. Park in the parking lot along the road near the cemetery, or on the left after the town hall.

1/ The path climbs towards the Col de la Forclaz, then leaves the road to head northeast through the woods to Les Orseraies and the Croix de Varzéron. The path continues to climb steadily to La Palette (1716 m), then descends slightly to the Refuge de Lachat.
Hot tips: After discovering Queige's traditional hamlets, this is the first forested stage of the tour.
