3 trails, from 1.8 to 5.2 mile long, in the heart of a forest, 1.5 mi. from the town centre of Belley. Find several routes for walking or cycling a few minutes from Belley. Ideal for family walks, the first steps in mountain biking, jogging or small trail outings, the three routes are perfectly marked from the smallest, the squirrel (3 km), to the largest, the roe deer (8.5 km) through the fox. At the start of the circuits, many facilities: puzzle trail for children, arboretum, sound sculptures, interpretive panels of birds and trees. Several picnic tables are also set up for families. All the circuits are in the shade and in the calm of the forest.

From the Parves viewpoint, this hike crosses the hamlets of Montpellaz and Sorbier to reach Grand Ecrivieux in Massignieu-de-Rives, offering a very beautiful view of the Belley basin. This circuit, starting from Parves sports course from the start, then reaches several viewpoints, including that of the paragliding departure point, offering a bird's eye view of the town of Belley and its mountains. After a very easy start on the ViaRhôna cycle path, you will face several steep slopes between Massignieu-de-Rives and Parves. After enjoying the beautiful views from the top of this islet surrounded by the Rhône River on both sides, he will lead you to Virignin, then back to Belley via part of the ViaRhôna. Saint Jean-Baptiste’s Cathedral was classified as a historic monument in 1906. The building you see today dates mainly from the 19th century but its northern portal is from the 12th century and its apse dates from the 15th century. Historically Belley was the capital and ecclesiastical centre of Bugey. There has been a cathedral in the town since the year 722. The first major rebuilding project of the cathedral took place during the 12th century. This was followed in 1440 by the total reconstruction of the building which only left the northern doorway from the 12th century design intact. The cathedral was extensively damaged during the French Revolution when all of its relics were destroyed along with its bells. Worse was to follow in 1822 when an earthquake inflicted even more damage on building. After this near catastrophic event the Bishop of Belley decided to once again rebuild the cathedral. Architect Antoine Chenavard designed a building in the gothic style, work commenced in 1835 and finished in 1851. This impressive building can be viewed today and houses several works of religious art including a statue of the Virgin Mary by Joseph Chinard.

A family-run business for 4 generations, Caveau Quinard, whose vines are located on the high banks of the Rhône Valley in Massignieu-de-Rives, close to the ViaRhôna, has been organically farmed since 2010. The Quinard estate comprises 12.5 hectares of vines. The vineyards are farmed organically. The Quinard estate is also committed to providing a warm welcome: a smile is the order of the day, tastings of the estate's wines are offered, and numerous tourist brochures (in French and Dutch) are available for customers. Julien Quinard made the commitment to organic farming in 2009, the year in which he converted the entire vineyard to organic methods. No synthetic products (herbicides, insecticides) or chemical fertilisers are used. The vines are treated only with minerals and plants in order to produce the healthiest grapes possible. The vinification process is traditional, with no yeast added. This means more manual work (ploughing one traille out of 2, leaving the other as grass), which makes it easier for the equipment to pass through. The Musée des Traditions Vigneronnes (Museum of Winegrowing Traditions) houses one of the largest and most beautiful collections of ancient tools (over 1300) and objects related to the work of the vine and wine. Throughout 3 rooms, this museum brings back to life thousand-year-old arts. The Musée des Traditions Vigneronne was born of the Caveau Bugiste's desire to preserve the memory of the gestures and skills of yesteryear. The exhibits come from the Caveau's own research, as well as from a personal collection built up over more than 20 years by Jean-Pierre Melin, an equally enthusiastic Bugiste. - Fossous, départoirs and échaudeuses recall the patient stages leading up to the grape's blossoming. - Rassiots, gauges and presses illustrate the skilful winemaking process. - Verdondaines, jabloirs and dolloires evoke the perfect mastery of the cooper. Many of these objects date from the 18th century, and some are rare and even unique. The EARL Domaine Monin is housed in an old Savoyard fortified manor house in the village of Vongnes. Here M. Varin-Bernier will give you a warm welcome and offer advice about their choice of wines from their 400 year old vineyard. The EARL Domaine Monin has been open to the public since 1969 and is open for business 7 days a week until 19:00. The Monin family produces 2 varieties of white wine both from the Chardonnay grape as well as a rosé from a blend of Pinot-Noir, Gamay and Mondeuse. These 3 cépages are also used in the production of the Caveau Domaine Monin’s extensiverange of red wines. There are also 4 different types of sparkling wine available made using both the méthode ancestral and méthode traditionnelle techniques in addition to both Fine and Marc de Bugey digestives. The Caveau Domaine de Monin also has a gîte that can accommodate up to 6 guests available for rent.

The old Fontaine tile factory operated from 1860 to 1900. Two other tile factories were also in operation in the commune of La Balme. Their activity ceased around 1914. The railway then made it possible to transport less heavy mechanical tiles.

Situated just 2.5km south of the town of Belley the Rotonne Forest is an ideal place for a family day out! The Rothonne Forest has three bicycle trails that range in length from 3km to 8.5km that are completely suitable for children. Additionally there is a hiking trail and the forest is also a lovely place to relax and stroll about in and has plenty of picnic tables which are wheelchair friendly. Located at different points around the forest there are some fantastic statues in wood of some of the animals that can be found in the Rothonne Forest. The forest also has observation stations for bird watchers. There is plenty of car parking available with 8 spaces reserved for people with disabilities.

The church of Notre Dame de l'Assomption, built in the Romanesque style, has been a listed monument since April 6, 1987. Come and discover its special features.
