Come to the discovery of the Provencal and medieval village of Grimaud! Get lost in the alleys or follow the proposed circuit, which takes about 1 hour. From the hilltop village, the path leads you to the sea, offering remarkable views of the Gulf of Saint-Tropez. You arrive at the Marines de Gassin and its shops passing near the Bourrian wineyard estate and the Stud / Polo Club. The return path is accessible to hikers, mountain bikers and riders who will appreciate the breathtaking view of the Gulf of Saint-Tropez. This beautiful airy and shaded track offers you a glimpse of the diversity of the Gassin flora (pine forest, vineyard, oaks, broom, laurels). You can enjoy the beach and swimming (supervised in season) before your return. Practical information : In summer, be sure to inform yourself before your departure that the trail is not closed because of the fire risk (information on the Var prefecture website or at the tourist office). You will find a small watch on your route that you can bypass if necessary by taking a path a little further to the right. Also be careful during hunting not to take the trail if it is blocked. Be careful when crossing country roads without a protected passage. The path allows you to join the protected multimodal track to reach Port Grimaud on your left and Saint-Tropez on your right. Course: • from Place Louis Collomp, descend towards the cemetery and go around it on the left (passage in front of the monument to Saint Joseph) by following the sign "Villevieille"; • take the path on the left (50 m) then follow the Villevieille track; • follow this track for 2.5 kilometers (you pass near the Brûlat mill and then the Heraklée villa, former property of Gunther Sachs when it conquered the heart of Brigitte Bardot); • cross the Bourrian road and find a path a few meters on your left which, after a lookout, takes you to Chemin de la Plaine, through the vineyards of the Bourrian domain (1.15 km); • arrived at the RD98a near Interhome, follow the sidewalk on your right (170 m) (Note: the La Foux shopping center is on your left about 300 m). • turn left at the roundabout towards the Marines de Gassin (180 m); • at the second roundabout, go straight past the shops of the Marines de Gassin (Bar-tabac des Marines, Tour de Pizz ', Ciao Belli; on Place Le Pitchoun, Sandrée Coiffure, the May Flower laundromat) ; • you can then continue to the beach (200 meters on the right). You will find the Marines and the port of Cogolin on your left.

The Panoramas of the Gulf of Saint-Tropez and Cavalaire Bay lead you from the village of Gassin to La Croix-Valmer through forest and rural landscapes and beautiful views. This hiking trail takes up part of the GR 51 and offers splendid views of the Gulf of Saint-Tropez, the Bay of Cavalaire, the Pays des Maures, and the villages Gassin and Grimaud.

Learn about La Croix Valmer's rich history : from the ruins of the Roman villa at Pardigon to it's rich 19th century architectural heritage, from it's winemaking history to the coastal paths once travelled by customs officers. At the roundabout in front of the Tourist Office, take the underpass and walk down Boulevard Tabarin towards “Tabarin Vergeron Gigaro”. Turn left onto Boulevard des Villas. Just before the bridge, turn right. At the intersection, take the pedestrian path to the left towards “Les Plages”. Walk alongside the vineyards. At the pedestrian crossing, cross the road and turn right. After the bus stop, walk down the second road on your left, Allée de la Bouillabaisse. Before reaching the holiday residence VVL Vitry, take the path on your left. Follow the yellow signs “Sentier du Littoral”. Walk down the steps and take the path on your right all the way to the Plage du Débarquement. Walk past the shops and restaurants and follow the yellow pann. Once you have reached the roundabout, turn right towards “Gigaro”. At the Parking de la Ricarde, turn left towards “Le village”, leaving "Allée du Bois du Manège" on your right. At the stream, cross it and take the path between the vineyards. Turn left to cross a stream a second time. Take an immediate right and walk up the road. At the junction, turn right. Walk alongside the vineyards on your right all the way to the car park of Les 3 Îles. At the end of the car park, take "Rue de l’Eglise", in front of you. At the Church, walk up the road on your left. At the top of the road, turn left again and walk up "Boulevard Tabarin" towards the village.

After the vineyards, you can take the “Parcours de Santé” (fitness trail) and the “Sentier Botanique” (botanical trail) on your right, or continue straight ahead (the two paths merge). Cross the stream on your left, then take the path on the right between the vines. Cross the other stream and take the track in front of you. At the end of the track, cross the road and turn right. At the traffic circle, turn left to reach the D-Day beach. Follow the yellow markings and “Sentier du Littoral” signs. Take the stairs on the left at the end of the beach. Pass the Bouillabaisse, Vergeron and Sylvabelle beaches. At Plage d'Héraclée, take Impasse d'Héraclée. Follow the blue markings. At the end of the impasse, turn left onto Boulevard du Littoral. Follow the Croisien vineyard. Follow the pedestrian lane. At the Sylvabelle traffic circle, continue straight ahead. At the next junction, turn right onto Boulevard Tabarin. Follow the pedestrian lane. Turn right onto Rue des Tennis de Tabarin. Then turn left onto Boulevard des Villas. Continue straight on until you reach the tourism office.

Starting out from the village, the route joins the GR 51 crest trail, offering magnificent views over the Gulf of Saint Tropez.

Construction of the sixteenth century an ingenious gravity system which allowed the collection of water 3 km into the hillside, the Bridge of the Fairies by its very name can illustrate the "magic" of the process.

Founded in the fifteenth century, in the seventeenth century it is called "Our Lady of Coulet" (from the old Provençal: hill). The White Penitents officiated there. This brotherhood was assisting the needy in the village. During the revolutionary period, the chapel housed the first municipal councils in 1790.

This mill, formerly called "Moulin de la Gardiole" is known since the seventeenth century. It seems to have worked sporadically. In the nineteenth century it belonged to the Aumeran family, then in 1886 the parish priest of Grimaud: Giraud Zechariah. It now belongs to the municipality. In the 1990s, the cross located on the tower was moved, the wings, the roof and the whole mechanism were recreated to revive this monument.

This large medieval ruin is a listed monument. The foundation of the castle seems to go back to the beginning of the eleventh century since 1058, the site is mentioned in a deed of gift to the abbey of St. Victor of Marseille. Construction of buildings that have survived seem to stagger between the thirteenth and seventeenth century by which time it was dismantled on royal order. During the Revolution the City Council demolished what was left.

Chapel St Roch (eighteenth century): Saint Roch is mentioned as protection from contagious diseases including the plague. Inside, are the paintings of the saint's life from 1937 and medieval altar stone basalt.

Founded in 1982 by two grimaudois; Decuers André and Guy Giraud, the museum has been enriched over the years with donations of objects from the local population that cares about its heritage. Today extended by the municipality, this patient work of recovery and conservation allows you to discover its rich past and this old Provençal life.

The first mention of the parish church of Grimaud appeared in 1069 in a charter of the cartulary of the abbey of Saint Victor Marseille: Pons, son of Viscount William, exchanged with the monks of Saint-Victor half the lordship of Grimaud located in the castle against Freinet Vidauban. However, the location and architecture of the early church remain undetermined. The church as it is offered to us today dates from the second age Provencal Romanesque (late twelfth - early thirteenth century). The shell granite and limestone elements (cornices, arches and arched door) are paired with care. Its construction required a significant mobilization of men and beasts for transport of materials, substantial financial resources and a large technical expertise. This makes it a remarkable building for the time, there is no equivalent in the Freinet, a relatively poor country where cultural premises were modest construction. Inside, the decor (nineteenth century) represents St. Michael slaying a dragon surrounded by St. Peter and St. Bartholomew (rather than St. Paul whose worship is rare in Provence). Previously, the walls were covered with ocher-colored plaster and perhaps completely decorated with a painted decoration as we can still see some remains.

The site of the chapel is frequented since at least the sixth century BC. It was at the end of the eleventh century the monks of the abbey of St. Victor of Marseille founded a small Romanesque chapel dedicated to Questa Sancte Marie. In 1793, the chapel was seized and sold by the revolutionaries. The Grimaudois bought it and return it to the town who still owns it to this day. Every August 16th, one can see the pilgrimage to the chapel. The statue of Our Lady of the Quest is in the Saint-Michel church in the village. Inside the chapel is: the Assumption altarpiece of the Virgin and the Annunciation dated 1677, three busts reliquaries including that of Saint Lambert, tables of St. Jacques de Compostela and St. Lambert Eloi and the Donation of the Holy Rosary. In 2002, restoration of the facades and roof are made and new windows are created by Ms. Coline Fabre, master glassmaker, a member of an old family grimaudoise. The park is home to the chapel of beautiful trees of at least 200 years and a source associated with the cult of St. Lambert, whose water cures skin diseases and eye.
