Blavet is a tributary, of the Argens River. The river begins its journey in Bagnols-en-Forêt and flows into the Argens. Carved into red volcanic rocks made from rhyolite , the Gorges du Blavet offers some beautiful geological features such as cave Muréron., a one of the major rock climbing sites in the Var.

A Provencal village full of flowers and stone houses. Do not miss the most important monuments: the castle dating back to medieval times, the Church of St. Michel and the Penitents Chapel. Discover the Maures mountain range on a mountain bike and enjoy the sensations. From the Croix d'Anselme car park, enjoy a 1 km descent on the RD 14, surrounded by chestnut trees. At the intersection, turn right towards Col des Fourches Gonfaron. At the arrow post "Vallon de Rascas" take the direction of Valescure and prepare your calves to start the climb for about 10 km until the arrow post "Cros de Mouton". On arrival take the direction of La Garde-Freinet, continue for 1 km and turn right at the intersection towards Capelude. Hilly climb for 700 m on a sandy track until you reach the top of Le Défens. Here, take the time to stop and enjoy the panoramic view of the whole Collobrières forest and the sea. Enjoy the next 8 km of descent on a partly dirt and partly stony track surrounded by typical Mediterranean vegetation. On the way you can stop at the Treps reservoir, where picnic tables are available for a break. You can also admire the Chartreuse de la Verne in the distance. At the end of this descent, you will arrive on the RD 14, which you will have to climb for 400m to join the path on the left on the dirt roadside, which will take you to the ascent of the Chartreuse de la Verne on a trail of about 9.5 km with no difficulties or obstacles. On arrival you can visit the monument and enjoy the view towards the Maures massif. Then, follow the arrow post "Chartreuse 1" located at the entrance of the monument towards Plateau Lambert through the undergrowth. This shaded single is relatively technical with some passages on less important stones. Then take the Ragusse track on your right to enjoy a descent on a stony track for about 7 km. Remember to descend below the trail to admire the cedar forest about 2 km from the arrow post. Be careful, this is a very technical trail with a steep descent and a lot of vegetation for experienced mountain bikers. Tip: leave your mountain bike at the top of the track and walk the trail. At the end of this descent, when you reach a small ford, take the RD to the left for 400m and then to the left on the trail parallel to the departmental road. This single track has some small obstacles to overcome (tree roots), and there are 450 m to go before you return to the start car park.

Go back to the Gallo-Roman era with a tour of the Roman archaeological crypt! GO BACK TO THE GALLO-ROMAN TIMES WITH A TOUR OF THE ROMAN ARCHAEOLOGICAL CRYPT AND FISHPONDS! This crypt, found during excavations in 2010 and 2012, is a unique remnant dating back to the Roman colony, Forum Julii. The pink sandstone from the Esterel Massif mountains was used to build the crypt as well as all the old monuments in Fréjus. At the heart of the crypt you will be able to admire the fish pond, the water system, the aqueduct's arches and the big collector, all survivors from past centuries. Construction of the sixteenth century an ingenious gravity system which allowed the collection of water 3 km into the hillside, the Bridge of the Fairies by its very name can illustrate the "magic" of the process.

This mill, formerly called "Moulin de la Gardiole" is known since the seventeenth century. It seems to have worked sporadically. In the nineteenth century it belonged to the Aumeran family, then in 1886 the parish priest of Grimaud: Giraud Zechariah. It now belongs to the municipality. In the 1990s, the cross located on the tower was moved, the wings, the roof and the whole mechanism were recreated to revive this monument.

Chapel St Roch (eighteenth century): Saint Roch is mentioned as protection from contagious diseases including the plague. Inside, are the paintings of the saint's life from 1937 and medieval altar stone basalt.

This large medieval ruin is a listed monument. The foundation of the castle seems to go back to the beginning of the eleventh century since 1058, the site is mentioned in a deed of gift to the abbey of St. Victor of Marseille. Construction of buildings that have survived seem to stagger between the thirteenth and seventeenth century by which time it was dismantled on royal order. During the Revolution the City Council demolished what was left.

Founded in the fifteenth century, in the seventeenth century it is called "Our Lady of Coulet" (from the old Provençal: hill). The White Penitents officiated there. This brotherhood was assisting the needy in the village. During the revolutionary period, the chapel housed the first municipal councils in 1790.

The first mention of the parish church of Grimaud appeared in 1069 in a charter of the cartulary of the abbey of Saint Victor Marseille: Pons, son of Viscount William, exchanged with the monks of Saint-Victor half the lordship of Grimaud located in the castle against Freinet Vidauban. However, the location and architecture of the early church remain undetermined. The church as it is offered to us today dates from the second age Provencal Romanesque (late twelfth - early thirteenth century). The shell granite and limestone elements (cornices, arches and arched door) are paired with care. Its construction required a significant mobilization of men and beasts for transport of materials, substantial financial resources and a large technical expertise. This makes it a remarkable building for the time, there is no equivalent in the Freinet, a relatively poor country where cultural premises were modest construction. Inside, the decor (nineteenth century) represents St. Michael slaying a dragon surrounded by St. Peter and St. Bartholomew (rather than St. Paul whose worship is rare in Provence). Previously, the walls were covered with ocher-colored plaster and perhaps completely decorated with a painted decoration as we can still see some remains.

Founded in 1982 by two grimaudois; Decuers André and Guy Giraud, the museum has been enriched over the years with donations of objects from the local population that cares about its heritage. Today extended by the municipality, this patient work of recovery and conservation allows you to discover its rich past and this old Provençal life.

The site of the chapel is frequented since at least the sixth century BC. It was at the end of the eleventh century the monks of the abbey of St. Victor of Marseille founded a small Romanesque chapel dedicated to Questa Sancte Marie. In 1793, the chapel was seized and sold by the revolutionaries. The Grimaudois bought it and return it to the town who still owns it to this day. Every August 16th, one can see the pilgrimage to the chapel. The statue of Our Lady of the Quest is in the Saint-Michel church in the village. Inside the chapel is: the Assumption altarpiece of the Virgin and the Annunciation dated 1677, three busts reliquaries including that of Saint Lambert, tables of St. Jacques de Compostela and St. Lambert Eloi and the Donation of the Holy Rosary. In 2002, restoration of the facades and roof are made and new windows are created by Ms. Coline Fabre, master glassmaker, a member of an old family grimaudoise. The park is home to the chapel of beautiful trees of at least 200 years and a source associated with the cult of St. Lambert, whose water cures skin diseases and eye.
