In Paris, its length occupies about 13 km, with a depth varying between 3,40 and 5,70 m. Its width varies, it, from 30 to 200 m. The Saint-Martin canal is a canal 4,55 km long. It connects the pond of the Villette and beyond the canal of Ourcq. It is a canal of small template intended, originally, for the drinkable water conveyance in the capital. Inaugurated in 1825, it contains nine locks and two bascule bridges for a total lowering of 25 m.

According to the article 9 of the municipal by-law of October 1st, 1993, signed by Jacques Chirac, boxes used by the secondhand booksellers will have to be of a model approved by the Administration presenting an outside template determined by the dimensions below, for a maximal length of 8,60 m. The tradition of the secondhand booksellers begins near the XVIè century with small traders peddlers. Under the pressure of the booksellers, a regulation of 1649 forbids the portable shops and the display of books on the Bridge "Pont Neuf". The power in the time was rather worried of limiting the not censored parallel markets. The itinerant booksellers are thus, according to period, hunted then reinstated under enjoyments. In 1859, concessions are organized by the city of Paris and the secondhand booksellers can become established in fixed points. Each is entitled 10 meters away from rail for an annual right of 26,35 F tolerance and 25 F of franchise tax. Openings are made of the rise at sunset. Finally, it is in 1930 when the dimensions of "boxes" are fixed. Installed on more than three kilometers along the Seine and registered on the UNESCO world heritage in 1991, 240 Parisian secondhand booksellers exploit 900 " green boxes " where are about explained 300 000 second-hand old books and one very large number of magazines, stamps and cards of collection.

The main bridges of Paris were created or reconstructed during the XIXth century. Because at that time, any important architecture contained a decorative program, most of them were decorated with statues. She occupies the West of the lake Daumesnil, in the extremity the West of the wood of Vincennes. The island of Reuilly, of shape and similar size, is immediately situated in the East. She is accessible only by a unique bridge to suspension of about twenty meters long, situated in the southeast, which connects her with the island of Reuilly. It is the latter which is connected with the bank of the lake Daumesnil. Built from 1883 to 1885 by architect Edmond-Charles d'Albrizio to replace the old 18th-century chapel, which had become insufficient to cope with the town's growth. Built in the neo-Romanesque style, Notre-Dame church is dominated by a massive bell tower-porch. The station is reconstructed, from 1862 till 1867, by Pierre-Louis Renaud ( 1819-1897 ), chief architect of the company Paris-Orléans, with in particular the big metallic hall of a reach of 51,25 m and 280 m of length. This vast space is moreover used as workshop of hot-air balloons hanging the siege of Paris in 1870. It also builds the detached house of the departures in the North, the perpendicular building of the buffet, the detached house of the arrivals to the South, as well as the building of the administration of the railroad of Orléans in the extremity West of the hall, on the place Valhubert, in the facade style Belle Epoque. In 1900, the company of Paris-Orléans extends its line towards the center of the capital and the station of Orsay becomes the new end of the line, put into service on May 28th on the occasion of the World Fair. This monument is the object of a registration in conformance for historic monuments.

L'île de Reuilly is one of the two islands of the lake Daumesnil in the wood from Vincennes to Paris in France. It is connected in the East by a bridge with the banks of the lake and on the West in the island of Bercy.Characteristics Its name of its closeness with the district of Reuilly, is an artificial island of a surface about 2,5 hectares. Boorishly in the shape of bean, she measures 300 m of length in her biggest length and at most 100 m of wide. She occupies the center of the lake Daumesnil, in the extremity West of the wood of Vincennes. The island of Bercy, shape and similar size, is immediately situated on the West.The island was created during the arrangement of this part of the wood of Vincennes and the construction of the lake Daumesnil. She is connected with the southeast bank of the lake by a small bridge with suspension of about twenty meters long. On the West, the second similar bridge connects her with the island of Bercy. A path allows to make the tour of the island.
