Perhaps mistakenly, this hike is called the Laudon circuit. Indeed, according to the directional panels, we start at Saint-Jorioz and head for Saint-Eustache, initially following the Laudon river, a tributary of Lake Annecy. Hiking itinerary established in cooperation with the Tourist Information Office and, for the signage, the councils of the “département” and Greater Annecy. This medium-distance circuit might be rather long for children, but offers beautiful views over the mountains and some glimpses of the lake. It is a gentle mix of countryside, forest, rural landscape and a history that is sometimes tragic. You can fill your flask with fresh water at Saint-Eustache.

The road is a dead-end, so you will see very few cars on this climb above Lake Annecy, opposite the Tournette. The start can be reached via the Annecy greenway.

A varied itinerary with several lovely view points, with access towards Lac d'Annecy if you want to find somewhere for dinner or if you want to find a room at Menthon Saint Bernard. Reverse Clockwise From the Pré Vérel refuge, head for the Col des Nantets (1426m), leaving the right-hand valley leading to Montremont and heading for the Chalet de l'Aulps Riant below (1600m). You cross a long, wide-open mountain pasture. You'll see the Dents de Lanfon on your left, and leave the pasture to descend to Villard dessus and the Col de Bluffy, where you'll be staying. If this is not possible, other accommodation is available in Menthon Saint Bernard (480m). Allow an extra 30 minutes' walk and a climb of around 200 m the next morning.
