Discover Lathuile's beauty from Les Jardins du Taillefer

This loop goes through the Col de la Cochette, it is a longer variant of the hike that starts from Saint-Jorioz to La Magne. The loop of Entrevernes is of average level, but offers from the beginning of the village of Entrevernes very beautiful points of view on the lake, the massifs of the Bornes and Bauges. This loop is marked by the Department, in collaboration with Grand Annecy and proposed by the Lake Annecy Tourist Office. The markup is present all along the route (sign and yellow arrows). It is done in three stages a rise in laces at the neck, a gradual descent on the crest of the mountain of Entrevernes, then to go up on the Taillefer while passing by the hamlet of the houses. Beautiful views, heritage, history, a very complete hike to do virtually all year, except after heavy rain or snow. Our recommendations: good walking shoes (slippery terrain), a hiking stick for the descent that is long and slippery, obviously the picnic and water. For the hunting season (autumn, winter) this course is safe on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, the forest is very popular with wild boar, deer. This hiking is easy, and great with the whole family. You will pass by the little track of the squirrels, then you will go above the village of Lathuile.

An easy loop from one hamlet to another, to visit and discover local Bauges heritage. Landmarks to visit: communal oven and fountain in Marceau, Pont d'Arnand bridge, Giez church and golf course, Montmin canyon, Verthier hamlet. From the Doussard Beach carpark, cross D1508 road towards the sports complex; pass between the tennis courts to the bike path that you will take to Lathuile (les Marais), at the intersection with route du Bout du Lac. Turn left, and then head into the marshy area on the right-hand side. The trail rides along Ruisseau de la Bornette stream. When you exit the marsh, take another left, cross route du Bout du Lac, and then turn right onto a narrow paved road that ascends towards Marceau and that rides along Ruisseau de la Bornette stream. Visit the communal oven and fountain. When you leave the hamlet, turn right onto the 1st drivable road, and then take the GR96 trail to Arnand where a nice bridge allows you to cross the Ire River. Take the road heading downhill, and then turn right onto route des Côtes until you reach the intersection with Chemin de la Serraz, turn right here. Next, pass through the small Z.A. des Vernays business park. The path continues through the forest, slightly uphill, and then heads back downhill to Le Birdie hotel, in Giez. Turn left onto the road that descends towards the prairie, and then just after the driving range turn left onto a path called “Chemin des Planches à la Gare”, which leads to the bike path. Take the bike path to a place called “Sous les Murets”, where it intersects with Chemin Rural de Vesonne. Turn right to join up with Route de Vesonne, continue riding on D42 road, cross Nant de Montmin creek – a very popular spot for canyoning among local guides and whitewater enthusiasts – then turn left onto Chemin de la Forge, and then right onto chemin du Pré de l’Ile which descends to the small hamlet “le Villard”. Turn right, and take a path called Rochafaux, which rides along Nant de Montmin creek to Verthier hamlet. Take time to marvel at the washhouse, the old chapel, and Blain house… – Take Route du Vieux Pont, cross Route de Talloires and continue on Route de la Vieille Eglise – the entrance to the Bout du Lac d’Annecy Nature Reserve – until you reach D1508 road. Cross this main road at Pont Monnet bridge, then turn right on to the bike path towards Bout du Lac, ride to the tennis courts and cross back over D1508 road to your starting point.

This route crosses the small streams (Bornette, Ire, Glière, Chaise…) that flow into the region’s major rivers (Rhône and Isère). Next, pass through the small Z.A. des Vernays business park. The path continues through the forest slightly uphill and then downhill to Giez golf course which you cross (Chemin de Rosaz). Take a short detour to visit the church and enjoy your first views of Mont Blanc. Turn left onto Route de Saint-Gingolph, continue riding straight on Route de Rovagny and then descend through the clearing to D142 road which will take you to the hamlet of Englannaz. Cross the hamlet until you reach D2508 road and then take the bridge that crosses over the Glière river; turn right to enter Parc des Pins, then ride alongside the stadium and protection wall. When you reach the “boulodrome” (petanque courts) turn left towards “centre ville” (town centre); take Rue Nicolas Blanc street and then Route du Thovey , stop to visit a recently restored “Glacière” (ice house) and an old Gallo-Roman site. Cross D182 road continue along route des Grandes Pièces and then follow the bike path; take the first right heading towards Cons-Sainte-Colombe and then the 1st left. Enter the forest; the trail will cross two clearings and then ride along the “Biel” stream before coming out onto D182 road. Turn left and then right, and then ride to the artificial lake ("Plan d'eau") in Marlens.

5 days from lake to lake, starting on Lake Annecy itself! An early start to reach the Bauges on the first evening. The Chéran, a "Rivière Sauvage", and the Lac d'Aix-les-Bains complete this discovery of the waters of the Bauges massif.

You are looking for the best viewpoints on the lake ? This hiking tour is for you ! Start : Lathuile, Town hall carpark Follow the ascent on the right of the church towards Saury. Then take the path to your left - chemin de la Mine - and stay on the right. Continue straight ahead on the ascending hairpin bend. You then reach the crossroads "Puits de la Mine". Take the right and continue the ascent. Once you are back on the flat, you cross hamlets and you can enjoy the view of lake Annecy and the mountains. Follow the signs towards Entrevernes and Membert. In Membert, get back the asphalt road in a slight slope. After the high voltage line, follow the path making a straight angle on the left and cross the meadows towards Frepperet hamlet. At the oratory, you can appreciate the splendid view on the valley. Get back down towards Lathuile following the path to the right. Be carful, it is a steep narrow succession of bends. Continue on the small road to your left to Lathuile church.

Whether it rains or shines, this 90-minute walk never fails to charm regardless of the weather! Discover this last great wetlands area on the edges of Lake Annecy, which bears witness to a remarkable transformation of natural habitat over 20,000 years. This path is fully paved, which means everyone (wee ones in prams and adults) can keep their feet dry!

Start : Doussard, Nature Reserve Carpark Starting from the carpark, head left towards Verthier hamlet. Be careful when you cross the D909a Road.

A magnificent discovery of Lake Annecy's nature reserve, a preserved wetland, via a path accessible to all. Several educational stations offer a fun and original way to discover this environment. The Bout du Lac nature reserve is a wetland crossed by two rivers, the Eau Morte and the Ire, which feed Lake Annecy. This marshy area to the south of the lake is an exceptional habitat. Wet forests, reed beds, wet meadows and alkaline peat bogs form a veritable ecosystem. The rich biodiversity of this natural area is home to a large number of common, rare and sensitive plant and animal species. The educational trail illustrates various aspects of the history of the nature reserve. The Beauvivier medieval tower, threatened with collapse, has been restored and transformed into an observatory. Since May 2010, the Bout du Lac nature reserve has been accessible to the disabled thanks to a 1.6 km pathway running through part of the site.

The route includes some vertiginous drops and is not recommended for children, inexperienced hikers or people who suffer from vertigo. This excursion does, however, offer some exceptional views, notably of Saint-Jorioz, Sevrier and Annecy, as well as the small lake and Mount Tournette, on descent of the Entrevernes mountains. This hiking itinerary has been established, in cooperation with the councils of the “Département” and of Greater Annecy, by a hiker who works for Lake Annecy Tourist Information Office. There is a cross erected on a rock that climbers and experienced hikers can climb up to, for the reward of a breathtaking panorama! The hike starts in the village of La Magne on the heights of Saint-Jorioz. From La Magne, take the road towards La Cochette, follow it to the end and park on La Tête car park.

Walk up on the town of Duingt to have the impression of being between two lakes. With the big lake on your left and the small one on your right, you will have a wonderful view on Le Roc de Chère and the mountain of La Tournette just in front of you. The river Eau Morte and the Lake enabled the development of Verthier, one of the most ancient villages of Doussard. This picturesque spot inspired painters such as Prosper Dunant and Firmin Salabert. A route allows you to go back to a time when the old bridge over l'Eau Morte was a toll, when the watermills were fueled by mill races using the force of water, when the boat was the means of transport to cross the lake. It allows you to discover traditional housing, Notre Dame de la Nativité chapel, to know the real bourgeois house.

Need some down-time? Come and relax on the grass at this beach opposite the Château de Duingt. A truly beautiful place where the deep blue waters of the lake contrast with the lush green of the park. This is the largest beach in Talloires. Located close to the heart of the village, it is always very busy and lively. The belvedere is located at 1150 m altitude and offers a bird's eye view of the Lake Annecy. A path up to the bar "La Pricaz" leads to a second belvedere with an unobstructed view of the Bauges, Les Dents de Lanfon and the Tournette peaks.

Opposite the Dents de Lanfon and the Tournette mountain, a large grassy sandy beach. Ideal for families and children. "Blue Flag" label since 2010. In July/August (9.30 am - 5.30 pm), admission charge for beach which is monitored by Lifeguards. The natural reserve occupies part of the Roc de Chere, small forested mountain range above lake Annecy, between Menthon-Saint-Bernard and Talloires. It offers beautiful walks and points of view on the lake and the surrounding mountains. Created in 1977 and with an area of 68 ha, it contains a great diversity of fauna and flora. Here you can discover small forest mammals, birds, amphibians, reptiles and insects. Two opposing flora coexist: one mountainous ( ferruginous rhododendron, lycopod sélagine …) and the other one, southern (maples of Montpellier, boxwood ...). The very varied topography of the Roc which forms a set of microreliefs and therefore microclimates allows five major natural sets to be defined : the steep limestone slopes, the sandstone ridges, the central depression the marshy valley and the central plateau. Located between 447 m and 601 m above sea level, this protected area can be discovered all year round throughout the seasons. Animals must be kept on a leash.
