Description

Continuation and end of your cycling trip around the Massif des Bauges. From Doussard, you reach Annecy via the lakeside greenway. The many beaches along the way are perfect for swimming, with lovely views over the surrounding massifs.

Last stretch towards Annecy, following the V62 on the left bank of Lake Annecy at the foot of the Semnoz massif.
At Duingt, there's a magnificent view of the peninsula and its castle.
In Sevrier, you can visit the Paccard Museum and the Paccard Foundry, world supplier of church bells and carillons. Five beaches mark the end of this itinerary (Doussard, Duingt, Saint-Jorioz, Sevrier, Marquisats).
End of the "échappée belle" in Annecy, where you can explore the old town, stroll along the Pâquier and in the Jardins de l'Europe, before taking the train back to Aix-les-Bains from the Annecy SNCF station.
The tour can be completed by bike via cycle-discovery route 51, which is nevertheless mainly on shared roads, and significantly increases the difficulty of the tour (+ 42km, more challenging section, more signposted cycle route).

Musée Paccard

Come and witness the magic of molten metal! Since 1796, eight generations of the Paccard family, from father to son have followed on from one another to create the most beautiful bells and have made a name for French manufacturing across the globe.Over the last 225 years, more than 120,000 bells have left the workshops of the Paccard Foundry, including several world records. In 1891, the Savoy-based company cast the famous Savoyarde (France's largest bell, weighing in at 18835 kg). In 1950, it produced 57 replicas of the famous Liberty Bell (including one for each American state). In 1998, the Foundry set a new record with the World Peace Bell (33 tonnes), the largest flying bell in the world. The Paccard Museum is a living showcase of Paccard expertise, and invites you to discover them for yourself! On the programme: guided tours of the workshops, bell casting (Thursdays only, by prior arrangement), Ars Sonora concerts (voice and bells), a speciality of the Maison Paccard, private tours, etc. Since 2021, the Paccard Museum has been offering you the chance to end your visit with a gourmet break in its "Au Paccard Gourmand" tea room. An unforgettable moment in a warm and friendly setting. New for 2023! Discover the Paccard Museum's new activity: the Campanist tour and its educational bell tower. This tour will tell you everything you need to know about the job of the campanist (the bell tower's "mechanic") and allow you to discover the confidential world of the bell tower.
