[Montgellafrey area] 2 Km blue level path (easy) with a positive elevation of 117m and a negative elevation of 257m. Starting point at the parking lot at the entrance of Montgellafrey, take the main road of the village to the bread oven. After the oven, you arrive at an intersection. Take the road on the right (and not the one going up with a no-entry sign) to the last houses and continue on this path. You meet a wooden sign «Montgellafrey- Le Bey». Go down towards the Bugeon stream. You arrive at an intersection; let the track going down straight on and take the one going slightly up on the left. Cross the stream and go up the other side to the Covatières.

The Col du Glandon is undoubtedly one of the toughest passes in the Alps, and certainly one of the most beautiful: its average gradient of 7.2% and the Colomban-des-Villards plateau conceal the dreadful 3km finale at over 10% on the final ramps of the pass... This very difficult 21km climb takes place between the Belledonne mountain range to the west and the peaks of the Sybelles ski area to the east. The climb is divided into several stages, with a steady first section followed by the St Colomban flat. The slope picks up again as you leave the village, and remains steep until you reach the terrible hairpins at the end, with a 3 km climb at an average gradient of 10%. It's at the pass that the view finally opens up for a short descent to the Olle valley, which flows towards the Grand Maison dam and the Oisans, or to the east, the ascent to the Col de la Croix de Fer, topped by the Etendard peak (3464 m) and its eternal snows. This pass has been crossed 20 times by the Tour de France.

[Montgellafrey area] Red level (medium) itinerary with an ascending elevation of 675m. The hike lasts around 3 hours. This path is for people having experience and skills for hiking. From the parking lot at the entrance of the Montgellafrey village, follow the main road to the local bread oven. Take on your left and go up towards the «Chargeux». Continue to go up on the path. You arrive at a crossing with the road. Take the path in front of you. Take the direction of the «Mollaret» and then the «Andrés» hamlets. Then reach the «Vinits» and the «Cartiers». Arrived at the «Cohendets» let them on your left and go up to the lake.

The Circuit du Bial is an ideal loop for a family getaway in the Maurienne valley. It offers an excellent compromise between nature and comfort, with superb mountain views. The asphalt path winds gently through the heart of the village, offering a wonderful immersion in the heritage of the Maurienne valley. Then, after leaving the village, the path leads you along a rural track through lush green fields. The scenery gradually changes, and you're enveloped by the softness of nature, between grass and clay. Depending on the season, you may even spot herds of cows in the pastures.

[Montaimont area] Blue trail with a vertical drop of 455 m negative and lasting 3 hours . Trail accessible to all levels of walkers. From the Bonvillard parking lot, take the path in the direction of Taramur on the right side of the road. Reach «Les Bigots» hamlet and then «La Perrière». Pass by «Champfol». There, you will find a viewpoint indicator. From there, take the path heading towards «Pontchéry» and «La Pallud». Arrival at the Beaurevers chapel.

The Notre-Dame-de-Beaurevers chapel is one of the main sanctuaries in Savoie dedicated to the Virgin Mary. Legend has it that it was built by the Virgin's wish and that the materials were placed there by themselves. The oratory built in 1628 was rebuilt a few metres away in 1766-1768, as it was a sanctuary with a respite* that attracted many faithful from 1761. As large as a church, the new chapel has a façade sheltered by an overhanging roof. A Pieta welcomes pilgrims with this inscription: "O you who pass by, consider if there is any pain like my pain". Inside, the trompe-l'oeil decoration is the work of Italian painters from the 19th century. The iconographic programme, which is particularly rich in the drum of the dome, develops eight episodes from the life of the Virgin. The baroque altarpiece on the high altar was reinterpreted by the Gilardi brothers in 1881.

Consecrated in 1776, this Baroque church is dedicated to two saints invoked for healing. Numerous liturgical and decorative objects are listed as historic monuments. While its bulbous steeple would pass for almost commonplace in the Haute-Savoie or Beaufortain regions, this type of roofing is much rarer in our Maurienne valley. Its altarpiece (with tabernacle), the work of the Gilardi brothers, deserves your attention.

It is also the ideal setting to organize a festive event (birthday ...). Modern and friendly, the refuge has 5 small rooms from 2 to 6 beds, with toilet and hot shower near the rooms. Beyond the many opportunities for day trips, the refuge is also located on the "Grand Tour de Tarentaise". Refuge located in the Lauzière Massif. It offers a unique panoramic view of the Aigueblanche valleys, the Vanoise glaciers and the border range. Between the Tarentaise and Maurienne regions, on the way to the Col de la Madeleine, a pass made famous by the Tour de France, a narrow road winds for 5km through undergrowth and bilberry bushes, taking hikers to the Logis des Fées refuge at an altitude of 1,840m. The refuge is unique in that it is powered by 5 different energy sources: hydro-electricity, photovoltaic, gas, wood and photothermal. The refuge offers many opportunities for walks and hikes. One of the easiest is the two-lake loop (Arpetaz/Branlay). Further up, a small gully (Biolène), dug into the hillside at an even slope, used to supply water to shepherds and formed the small artificial lake of Arpettaz at 1950 altitude. At the refuge, you can enjoy a meal while taking in the breathtaking views of the Vanoise glaciers. 5 bedrooms: 1 with 5 beds and 4 with 4 beds 1/2 board (bed, dinner, breakfast) or full board.
