Grande Traversée des Bauges from Annecy to Chambéry - 6-day hike

Leaving Annecy and its lake behind, this stage heads south along the forested ridge of the Semnoz. Arriving at the crêt de Châtillon, in the mountain pastures, the 360° landscape is revealed. Spending the night at the summit of Semnoz is an unforgettable experience!

The second, shorter stage reaches the heart of the Bauges. The descent from Semnoz leads to the Col de Leschaux. A final climb, a passage to the Sollier mountain pasture dominated by the Roc des Boeufs, and you're already in Bellecombe-en-Bauges!

This forest-style stage takes you deeper into the heart of the Bauges, to its historic "capital", the village of Le Châtelard.

The "La Traverse" path links Le Châtelard to La Compôte, with its distinctive architecture (wooden balconies and tavallans). Then via the Grangettes plain, the woods and chalets of La Fullie, the stage leads to the Aillons-Margériaz 1000 ski resort.

The stage begins by crossing the Margériaz karst plateau, typical of the Bauges Geopark. From the crests, the next day's route is already visible: Nivolet, La Féclaz resort. Beyond lie the Chartreuse and Belledonne massifs.

The last stage of this great Baujue traverse crosses the Peney cliff at the Col de la Doria. This is where the rainwater that has infiltrated the plateau cascades down to the surface, like a Geopark wink to the hiker leaving the massif!

Catering: 20 seats maximum, by reservation , open only in the off-season on Wednesday noon, and from Friday noon to Sunday evening .
