
The "La Traverse" path links Le Châtelard to La Compôte, with its distinctive architecture (wooden balconies and tavallans). Then via the Grangettes plain, the woods and chalets of La Fullie, the stage leads to the Aillons-Margériaz 1000 ski resort.

4/ 1- Leave Le Châtelard on the D911 towards Ecole. After the Grangettes housing estate, turn left on a track (yellow markers) that crosses the meadow and joins the forest edge. Find the old "La Traverse" path and follow it to La Compôte. - 2-descend the lower part of the village as far as the bridge over the Chéran. Cross the D911 opposite and follow the narrow road along the edge of the Plaine des Grangettes to the edge of the forest. Climb the steep path on the left, which passes the Chapelle Saint Bernard, then climb the long ridge of the Bois de la Fullie towards the Col de la Fullie.3- Reach the chalets de la Fullie, then pass under the Col de la Cochette (under the Col 1650 m).4- Leave it on the right and descend through the Bois de Saint Bruno to the Chartreuse d'Aillon, then reach the resort and the main town of Aillon-le-Jeune.
