The V52 cycle route crosses the Moselle region over 65 km, offering a journey between nature and heritage. Starting from Lagarde and its marina, the cycle route traverses the Étang du Stock, a world biosphere reserve, and then passes near the highest Freycinet lock in France at Réchicourt-le-Château. In Sarrebourg, an unmissable stop, the stained-glass windows of the Chapelle des Cordeliers, designed by Chagall, are a must-see. Following the banks of the Marne-Rhine Canal, the route winds through picturesque villages and forests to Arzviller, where the greenway of the Vallée des Éclusiers begins. The highlight of the trip is the Saint-Louis Arzviller Inclined Plane, an impressive structure, before a final Moselle stop in Lutzelbourg with its perched castle, heralding the entrance to Alsace.

Museum Gaspar is housed in the residence of the middle-class family Gaspar from Arlon who had set up in this house (1893) that was built in 1842. It was renovated in 2004. The two most famous members of this family are animal sculptor Jean-Marie Gaspar (1861-1931) and Charles Gaspar (1971-1950) who was a photographer and a sponsor. He gave his house to the town of Arlon on the condition they make a museum of it, dedicated to his brother's work and that put into honour the history and the heritage of Arlon. At the first floor, theree are two restored salons identical to a middle-class salon from the early 20th century that show Jean-Marie Gaspar's sculptures. and the art and picture collection of Charles Gaspar. The rest of the first floor is dedicated to temporary exhibitions of the museum that alternates artv and history. A religion room shows collections about the abbey of Orval and to the people's devotion at the 18th century, and also relics from the ancient Saint-Martin church. But the Masterpiece is the famous altarpiece Retable de Fisenne - a 16th century masterpiece from the Antwerp school. It was bought in 1893 by a middle-class family from Arlon, the family Gaspar. Jean Gaspar (1861-1931) was a sculptor. He was trained by the Antwerp sculptor Jef Lambeaux. His works are in bronze and in plaster and they are exhibited in the salons that have been restorated as they were in his house. His brother Charles (1871-1950) was a photographer, a collector and a sponsor. He gave this house to the town of Arlon. It hosts the library of the Archaeological Institute of the Belgian Province of Luxembourg and its secretary office since 1954. A wide part of the museum is also dedicated to temporary exhibitions about art and history of Arlon.

Bosquets Park is situated to the rear of Lunéville Chateau and has a huge French formal garden. The gardens were laid out at the request of the Duke Leopold in 1711 by Yves Hours (a disciple of Le Nôtre) and then again in 1724 by Louis de Nesle who introduced the groves. The park benefit from the exemplary restoration program of the castel, this one is to become a key element in the heritage tourism in eastern France.

It was in this building at 61 rue de Lorraine that the Treaty of Luneville was signed on 9 February 1801, which gave France the left bank of the Rhine. The final point of the conflict between Bonaparte, the first Consul, and Francis II, emperor of the Holy Roman Empire, who was defeated by Bonaparte's Army in Marengo. Austria chose Luneville rather than Selestat, perhaps because of its Lorraine memories. The house, typical of the neoclassical style, with its long straight lines, mouldings, and decoration referring to Greek and French classical art, had been built twenty years earlier for the Royal Mayor of Lunéville, and resumed service during the Second World War, welcoming General Patch, Eisenhower, Devers and Patton, who then launched a major offensive to Austria. The Treaty House is not open to the public.

Located in the heart of the city, on the right side of the Château park, the Theatre of Lunéville is a heritage jewel built in the Italian style and dating from 1911. It replaces an older theatre built in 1733 by the regent of the Duchy of Lorraine, Elisabeth-Charlotte d'Orléans. Classical theatre, contemporary theatre, comedy, music, dance: it offers a multidisciplinary programme open to all.

The Château de Lunéville is a wonderful gateway to the 18th century. A castle which, after the winter 2003 fire, was the largest construction site in Europe until 2010. You will (re)discover the exterior of the buildings with its warm colours. With the exception of Tuesday, you will approach and visit the restored rooms, the temporary exhibitions, or you can walk in the Parc des Bosquets (which is open all year round to visitors).

This 18th C Merchant’s House was built for a supplier of foreign spices and exotic foods to the Court of King Stanislas Leszczynski. A similar, finely sculpted facade in pink Vosges sandstone can be seen at 4, Rue Demangeot nearby.

A collection composed of embroidered materials and lacework. The ‘point de Lunéville’ technique uses the special Lunéville hook to embroider on tulle and the ‘Broderie perlée’, uses pearls and sequins with the same hook. A long tradition that is associated with the history of Lunéville, the Point de Lunéville is well-known in the world of haute couture. Museum and exhibitions open almost all year (6 afternoons per week).

In 1730, the regular canons of Saint Augustin, taking advantage of the Baroque-style beautification work being carried out on Saint-Jacques church, decided to rebuild their abbey and abbey hotel. On the ground floor, in succession are the lounges, some of which retain their original features in the form of oak-panelled walls. The most beautiful of these is decorated with a stucco frieze, whose hunting putti patterns resemble those in the Dukes of Lorraine apartments at the château of Lunéville, as well as a fireplace surround with ecclesiastical heraldry. The ground floor is the place for temporary exhibitions. The 1st floor of the Abbatial Hotel is a reconstruction of an aristocratic bourgeoisie apartment dated around 1750. A large traversing gallery allows access to the twelve rooms of this luxurious apartment, such as the bedrooms, offices and lounges which illustrate how people lived and the way of life during that period.

King Leszczynski of Poland’s personal taste can be seen in St Jacques Church, built between 1730 and 1747 ; he financed its completion when he became Duke of Lorraine. Under his influence the architect, Emmanuel Héré, looked to Polish baroque churches for inspiration. In collaboration with the organ builder, Nicolas Dupont, he also built the only known organ with concealed pipes in Europe.

The garden priest is inspired by the monastic gardens of the 18th century. Originally kept for the exclusive use of the abbot, this space is completely enclosed by high walls. Its highly structured layout is marked by a central axis around which are spread two beds of roses and sixteen square beds of plants, essences of aromatic plants, medicinal plants, ornamental and vegetable plants usually present in the religious gardens of the Enlightenment.

During the year 1868, the protestant community decided to built a Church. This Protestant Church was built in a new district in progress after installation of railway. The simple and modest place to pray was fastly too small. It is because, after the annexation of Alsace and a part of Lorraine in year 1871, 10 000 emigrants among whom numerous Protestants come to settle in Lunéville. Nevertheless, the edifice was not enlarged. Only the little gallery of the Church was made twice and extended. In 1970, for the Centenary of this Protestant Church, the original stained-glass windows were replaced with new ones.

The Bar and Restaurant "La Tulipe" is located inside the market gallery of Leclerc's Supermarket, so at few streets from Lunéville's Chateau. This catering place provides you several possibilities : for the lunch, to drink a coffee, to be really enjoying a ice cream or to have a break during shopping. From completely meal to sandwich, or for breakfast, in the Restaurant "La Tulipe" each one will find what he (or she) wants ! Closed on Sunday.

Just in front of the Theater in old town, the "Opera Café" is half a Restaurant and half a coffee-bar, such as one in Italy. Inside the decoration is sober and the menu of dishes is varied. At "Opera Café" you will find a french cuisine at reasonable prices. Closed on Monday.

Since its 20th anniversary, the Restaurant "Le Garibaldi" has been welcoming you to this address to offer you traditional cuisine and Italian specialities. The renovated building (an old school) has doubled the capacity, both inside and outside, on the terrace set up in the former playground. "Le Garibaldi" is also a pizzeria, with a takeaway sales area, with a magnificent trullo-shaped pizza oven (typical houses of the Italian region where the restaurant owner was born). The floors and walls of the restaurant are decorated with Italian ceramics, the coloured glass chandeliers are signed Murano; in short "Le Garibaldi" is in the colours of Italy ! The new Camper Van Area of Lunéville, in the Bosquets's Campsite, welcomes you all day long, each day and 365 days a year.
