Start: 1 La Lande, 50290 Bréhal Finish: 5 Route de la Forge, 50530 Champeaux Just a few kilometers from your starting point is Havre de la Vanlée. This harbour separates the Saint-Martin peninsula from the land. It creates a stunning landscape of salt-laden grasslands, salt pans and salt meadows occupied by sheep. At high tide, the sea covers everything... Including the road running through it. This remarkable site, listed in 1988, offers exceptional light changes.

This 22 km stage has lots of different landscapes and atmospheres along the route. Starting in Saint-Martin de Bréhal, follow the promenade overlooking the blue flag beach to Coudeville-sur-Mer, then walk along the dunes to Donville-les-Bains. At low tide, the beaches here are dotted with stakes, known as “bouchots”, on which mussels are farmed (please don’t take any). You have a view of the Chausey Islands in the distance. Head up the path towards Granville, via the Villa des Rhumbs with its breathtaking sea views. Take the opportunity to visit the Christian Dior Museum, with its themed exhibitions and gardens. Next, take the steps down the cliff to arrive at the Plat Gousset promenade and its beach which is very popular with locals. Visit this seaside resort known as the Monaco of the North, with its lovely restaurants and shops. Next to the casino, take the steps up to the Haute Ville, the old walled town. The path takes you round the Pointe du Roc to Cap Lihou, before going back down to the fishing harbour, commercial port and marina. This is where the ferries leave for the Chausey Islands. The path continues on the other side of Granville. Head down towards Saint-Nicolas beach and walk by the sea (in case of very high tides, take the D911 instead.) Before the stream that flows across the beach, turn left onto Rue des Mielles then into Saint-Pair-sur-Mer. You’ll head away from the sea and uphill towards Kairon and finally Bouillon, the destination of this stage.

The route continues along the coast until you reach the seaside resort of Hauteville-sur-Mer, which you will cross by its seawall. You will then cross areas with sandy bottoms, called honey, where carrots are cultivated, fertilized by seaweed, called kelp, which are highly appreciated for their tender flesh. Saltworks, evoke the work of salt which developed from the VIIIth century but the Revolution, by abolishing the internal customs, delivered the white salt harvested by the sauniers to the competition of grey salts, cheaper. The sauniers survived until the 19th century and then became extinct. In the area of Coudeville and Donville, the beaches are bristling with piles, called bouchots, driven into the ground at the bottom of the tidal zone. The mussel farmers raise bouchot mussels there. The stage ends in Granville, a fishing, commercial and leisure port, the upper town is surrounded by ramparts. You will be able to visit Christian Dior's childhood home, transformed into a museum.

Go for a walk along the water, close to the blue waves. The relief is soft. The Hauteville beach, the harbour of Regnéville, the village of Montmartin-Sur-Mer, the harbour of La Vanlée, the dunes of Annoville... The circuit leads you to the sea.

A short distance from Cérences, you can visit the Benedictine Abbey of Hambye, founded in the 12th century on the banks of the Siena river. Passing through Equilly, you will be amazed by the Logis and its medieval architectural and landscape ensemble. You will continue on your way to the village of La Haye-Pesnel.

Imposing structure of four lime kilns resembling a fortified castle, built in the middle of the 19th century. Built from local stone and roofed with zinc to resist the wind, Agon Lighthouse has been a guiding light for mariners since 1856.
