On the tracks of the Haureuils district. A well preserved local know-how. The district has interesting and typical heritage elements of the Haute Lande Girondine such as Landes barns, sheep pens in Barat-Neou but above all a well marked local know-how with the Dubourg establishments, known as the Grès de Gascogne, installed in the heart of the forest for more than 150 years, close to a clay deposit of an exceptional fineness which has existed for millions of years. Le Barp is located on the route des Grandes Landes linking Bordeaux to Spain. Between 23 million years ago and 5 million years before our era, in the Tertiary era, the Aquitaine Basin was occupied by a sea called the Falun Sea. Traces of this sea are visible in Salles, mainly in the form of shells and remains of fish or cetaceans, especially teeth, compacted in the ground (shell stones), some of which were exploited in the Salles quarries. Nowadays, these traces of the Falun Sea appear in the old fence walls and some houses, as well as in the cliff on the right bank of the Eyre Bridge.

The produce is organically grown and cleared by hand. This agroforestry farm grows berries and potted plants, as well as medicinal and aromatic plants. Annie is fully committed to an eco-responsible approach, since she complies with the specifications of organic farming, and the cultivation of her plants with their "wild" flavor is integrated into the local natural environment.

The Leyre River takes its source near Luglon in the Moor, crosses the Moor plateau and flows into the Arcachon Bay. A vault of foliage overlooks the river, sometimes opening onto the sky. The valleys of the Leyre, composed of the Grande-Leyre (commonly called "Rivière sauvage" in France), the Petite-Leyre and the Eyre, are rare environments in Europe, where otters, European mink and European pond turtle survive. This area is ideal for walks and canoeing.

This 5-hectare pond supports a good fish population of carnivorous fish (pike-perch, pike and rainbow trout), whitefish and intermediate-sized common carp.
