The commune of Lanton is made up of several villages which are called : Lanton, Cassy, Taussat and Blagon. A former seaside resort, Taussat-les-Bains is home to magnificent buildings that are called "Les belles de Taussat". Home of some celebrities who came there to recharge their batteries on the Bassin d'Arcachon, they contain many secrets. Go and meet them, they will tell you their story!

The Bétey port, entirely dedicated to oyster farming, was built in 1932 on the mouth river of the same name. In 1982, it was developed to become the sailing harbour of Andernos-les-Bains and is now home to 151 boats. On its left you have the Bétey beach, near a wooded parc (Bétey Dune) and a children's playground. The Bétey rises in the town of Querquillas and flows into the sailing harbour. The river has its name from the Gascon "woodcock net" and divides the city in two. It has only been crossed by a wooden bridge in 1839. In winter near the cemetery, you will find a "rusty" spring, where traces of a prehistoric settlement were discovered. Walk along the banks to discover an amazing fauna and flora : royal fern, the european pond turtle and many others...

Walk on the edge of the basin of Arcachon which goes from the church Saint Eloi to the pier of Andernos les Bains. Beautiful views of the basin. You can also enjoy the magnificent sunsets. Explanatory or tourist panels, interest in the natural environment, heritage. The Balades à Roulettes® (BR®) are short, quiet walks, with a pushchair or a small bike, or adapted for people with reduced mobility (in a wheelchair), proposed by the French Federation of Rambling of the Gironde.

On the way to Santiago de Compostela, step into the shoes of a pilgrim and set off to meet the ecclesiastical heritage of the Leyre Delta. A rich environment on the Leyre delta, the Domaine de Certes lies on one of the most important migration routes for avifauna, and is an internationally important migration site for many bird species, including the Eurasian spoonbill. Formerly a salt marsh, this vast area reclaimed from the sea has been converted into a fish farming site, and is now dedicated to the protection of natural environments. This 12.3 km circuit starts at the Château de Certes parking lot and leads to the Lanton bathing basin. Guided naturalist tours are offered by the Conseil Départemental de la Gironde.

Leave with Robin, to discover the Natural Site of St Brice. Through a series of enigmas, you will learn to know better the birds and plants present on this protected site. For the more adventurous, Robin's Tracks are proposed in several cities of Gironde. In each of these cities, you collect a sticker to put on your collector poster. Green corridor between the communes of Arès and Andernos-les-Bains on the edge of the Bay of Arcachon, the natural site of Saint-Brice is an invitation to walk. Owned by the Conservatoire du Littoral and managed by the Departmental Council of the Gironde, the Domaine de Graveyron is a protected sensitive natural area located in the continuity of the coastal path that borders the Bay of Arcachon. A fish reservoir in the 19th century, it is now home to a large number of bird species that mingle with a green flora. Departures are mainly from the port of Audenge for a loop of about 5 km. At the request of Eugène Ernest De Courcy (whose father, Jacques François Le Cousturier de Courcy, acquired the Taussat estate in 1830), a chapel was built at Taussat in 1860. Today?s chapel is the third version. The first, deemed too small, was completely rebuilt in 1949. Still not large enough, it was again remodeled and enlarged after several years of private fund-raising. The current version was completed in 1963. The beautiful stained glass windows adorning this monument were designed by Monsieur Mirande, a master enameller from Bordeaux.

Louis Théodore David (1856-1931), the prestigious mayor of Andernos-les-Bains from 1900 to 1929, was buried, according to his wishes, in the park of his villa Ignota, today "Maison Louis David". His burial was carried out by Raymond Delamarre (1890-1986), internationally renowned Parisian sculptor and medallist, Grand Prix de Rome in 1919. The Maison Louis David also houses a small museum which brings together remains found on the site of Gallo-Roman remains.

With its 232 meters, the pier of Andernos is recognized as the longest in the Bay of Arcachon. Built in 1926 by the senator-mayor Louis David, it was renovated in 1995-1996, and a nautical stopover was integrated. Andernos-les-Bains, nestled in the heart of the Bay of Arcachon, is an attractive seaside resort that has retained its authenticity.
